Spruce F & F has a widely varied menu, and our group took advantage of that. All of the food was terrific. The atmosphere and service were terrific. Highly recommended.
The drinks on the sidewalk table were great and dinner in th restaurant was great. Nice decor. Great food wonderful service
Spruce Farm and Fish is a lovely restaurant in the Hotel Boulderado but it’s much better than typical hotel restaurants. Great ambience, very extensive and varied menu and efficient service. Located on the Pearl Street mall in Boulder, perfect for an after dinner stroll!
Broccoli and Brussels Sprouts was delicious as was the burger and salad. Quiet during lunch time.
We enjoyed our meal and the restaurant very much.
We enjoyed Spruce Farm, located on the first floor of the Hotel Boulderado. The food was excellent from start to finish. Our service was a little spottier - starting out very weak (we waited nearly 10 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us) but it improved throughout the course of the meal. We were also seated at a very narrow table, very close to a walkway – not exactly the quiet location I had hoped for and requested since it was our anniversary. That said, the food was absolutely delicious - making up for the challenging service and weak seat location.
Always a pleasure to deal with professionals at this delightful place. The Hotel Boulderado has a real draw here!
We had high hopes for a wonderful dinner before heading to Boulder Theater for a show. The menu was interesting with a wide range of items. The service was slow, and the server said twice "I'll be right with you" and then after about 10 minutes made it to our table. I ordered the $33.00 Halibut over risotto special. I really wanted a protein/veggie high nutrition meal, but did not see a good option. The halibut piece was tiny, 1.5 " x 4.5", which for the price seemed terribly small. The risotto had a lot of beautiful flavors, but it was just too much starch for me. My husband had steak and fries, and he enjoyed his fries, but the steak could have been from Denny's. I tasted his fries and thought they were too old and chewy, but I am spoiled by the fries over at the Southern Sun. For the price, this restaurant does not offer the food and service we prefer. Now we know why there were so many reservation slots available at the last minute on Open Table. Next time, I'll just head to the pub at the Boulderado, instead of the more expensive restaurant.
i love coming here, the food quality, the atmosphere, the quietness, overall a lovely experience
My wife and I enjoyed our evening! The mussels and the steak and fries were delicious. The gluten free bread was amazing. The service, the ambience the value and quality of the food was wonderful. Thank you!
Tasty well-priced dinner with GF options. Quiet sitting on the "porch" area.
Great meal and lovely setting in the lobby of Boulderado hotel.
Had a deal for a discounted bottle of wine. Our waiter recommended a wine which we went with, and it was a perfect choice! Dinner was fabulous, oysters fresh, rolls hot. When there was an issue with my dish they didn’t hesitate to replace it with something else, and even offered for us to take it home since they would just toss it anyway.
Overall wonderful experience. They always have very friendly staff and delicious fresh and tender seafood.
Fantastic food, charming decor, wonderful staff. We will definitely be back!
Everything ok but not great. One entree, the prime rib, was super tough but manager credited it.
The truffle fries and Rocky Mountain Trout were very good. The ambiance was nice and service was great!
We had Sunday breakfast and sat on the porch. The entire hotel is beautifully restored. Our food was excellent, as was the service. We will definitely dine here again!
Food and service was disappointing.
I called ahead to confirm that this was a business dinner for 6 persons and I was very happy with the response I received over the phone. Upon arrival, we were shown to a nice table, and the privacy it offered for business discussion was very much appreciated. However, it took over 20 minutes before our waiter showed up for drink orders. After waiting for our drinks to arrive, we placed our dinner orders. Two persons ordered the prime rib special and requested "medium-well". One person requested no potato with the steak, but double veggies. Both prime ribs came out bloody rare, and the waiter indicated "the chef informs me these are medium". Medium is pink in the middle, not bleeding blood. Again, both persons requested medium-well. The steak with no potato showed up with 4 stalks of asparagus...implying that only 2 stalks should have arrived, and 4 stalks is considered a "double veggie" order. Once the meals were served, the waiter was a no-show for 30 minutes. Several people wanted additional drinks, and had to wait 30 minutes and then ask for second drinks, the waiter did not inquire about additional drinks. Much later, we were asked if we were interested in dessert, instead of being offered dessert menus, we waited an additional 5 minutes for the dessert menus. After dessert was served, the waiter was not to be found. One of us had to go look for him to get the dinner tab. After the credit card was pulled out and put on the tab, another one of us had to go hand the tab and credit card to the waiter. At no point did we get anything like an apology or acknowledgement about the slow service, there was one comment about "we're really busy tonight". There were 2 other tables with diners in the porch area, not exactly busy. Honestly, this was not a good experience and I was embarrassed at what should have been a memorable meal turned out to be one to be remembered for the wrong reason. Mediocre would be a compliment for this experience.
Nice location in town; service staff was very nice; food was ok not bad just ok; sorbet was super bland
Spruce Farm and Fish was a fantastic dining experience! We stayed at Hotel Boulderado which houses the restaurant and went there on the Fourth of July. My son had the scallops and my spouse and I both had fish: trout and salmon. Each dish was delicious and the service was awesome!! The cocktails were very tasty too.
Awesome decor. Great food and service. Very convenient location, close to everything.
The food was just average. We had lamb chops which were stringy and trout which was not seasoned. Nothing particularly special except the view.
A very pleasant place and the salads were delicious. This was a birthday and there was a good choice of a complimentary dessert.
Unique charming atmosphere and interesting menu. Very reasonably priced
We went for brunch! Great menu!
Ambiance was pretty lame. The food was delicious.
Lunch for 5 on a weekday. The food was excellent! Our server was not. Several issues (which seemed to be more computer entry and retrieval based user issues), impeded a smooth service for our table. But, the lunches were all fresh, well prepared and presented, and flavorful.
Located inside of the historic Boulderado Hotel, this is a wonderful restaurant. All of our meals were excellent. The service was quick and attentive. We were able to continue our conversation in the historic hotel lobby after our meal. Would recommend for special occasions.
I eat here a few times a month. Eggs were cold and the steamed greens were served in a bowl of hot water. Need to pick it up!
Nice, diverse menu. Very friendly wait staff. Pleasant atmosphere. Very good food.
The food was excellent and the wait staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had several young children with us and everyone made their experience lovely as well - complete with Mickey Mouse pancakes!
Perhaps. The food was not particularly good. Trout, poorly done. No taste. Lamb tasted like mutton, not what was advertised on the menu.
Previous chef or the one before that, was much better.
Great menu to choose from and excellent service from the staff.
Food was great. All the dishes came out at correct temperature. Service was excellent!
Excellent restaurant for fish and seafood. Great Happy Hour, even on a Saturday with appetizers and good wine selection at great prices. We had the oysters for Happy Hour and they were fresh, delicious and nearly 50% less than regular menu prices. The trout and scallops were both well-prepared entrees. The sweet & sour cauliflower & brussels dish was a highlight. Good selection of wines by the glass. The dessert menu is rather limited, but we were pretty full and didn't mind skipping it.
Great service from everyone and outstanding food! We celebrated our anniversary and it could not have been better.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. Really liked the food choices and everything we had was delicious. The wait staff asked if we wanted bread after serving our drinks which then came during the middle of the meal after asking for it twice. The restaurant is lively and the noise level really high. We tried to move to a quieter table after our initial seating, but then that area got loud within 5 minutes. Difficult for a person with hearing aids sitting in the porch area. Not sure if it would have improved in the dining area. It was at times hard to have a conversation. All being said, we will return because we loved the food!
The food was pretty good, although not up to their Thanksgiving menu. The rose was really dry, which normally I like to a point. I got used to it, though, so that was ok. The peach champagne sorbet was disappointing, very subtle as far as the peach flavor went, and I couldn’t really detect the champagne.
What was great was the server, Sean. He seemed really interested in our having a good experience, engaging us, asking what we enjoyed. He was interested and available, but never overbearing. That is an art!
