Excellent restaurant. Every staff member we came across was warm and welcoming. They have a lot of classic and interesting food and drink options, and the food and drinks we ordered were delicious. Definitely a place to visit.
Best meal of the weekend. Waiter was very helpful explaining the dishes and giving recommendations. Bar service was slow but otherwise an amazing experience!
On the bright side, the food (once and as it came out) was very good. Service was chaotic. We had no silverware when the food came out. We had to hunt down other requests. I hope Spruce can pull its service together. Iif like to see them survive.
My husband and I had our first date at the Boulderado in 1987 so it has a special place in our hearts. We always return on special days.
This Easter Sunday we were thrilled to snag a reservation.
Your menu never disappoints us. My husband is a vegetarian and I am on a Keto diet.
Does this sound like we are impossible to please? NO!
We were given 4 menus.
It took us 10 minutes to choose our separate options.
I wish we lived closer to the restaurant, it is so much easier to order than to think of what to make for dinner at home in Loveland.
We love you!
Pleasent enviornment. Good service and decent menu
Had an old fashioned to start. Wild Trout for entree and it was on point and washed down with a nice Chardonnay. Key Lime Pie and an Americano for dessert. Both food and service were outstanding. Perfect evening.
Workers were new on the job and needed more training. My salad was excellent. The bill ( 2 of us) was mixed up. All in all not your excellent service.
My sister and I had a lovely evening at Spruce Farm & Fish. Our server, Mack, was very attentive and made sure that we were taken care of. The crispy calamari was fresh and hot. The steak was done to our liking.
Outstanding service and delicious food. A great restaurant!
great service, great food, great location in Boulder. Nice variety on the menu 😊
A new find and we are delighted to have discovered another neighborhood gem. Everyone loved their food!
We enjoyed our brunch, the food was great. Service was a bit slow and they were not too busy. The mangers were having a meeting taking up a prime table. Being very loud in their conversations talking about menus and getting more people in. Other people were made to sit at smaller tables in less favorable spots. The meeting should have been in an office or at an off time. It was tough to have our own conversation. But the food was great.
Service was terrible. Potatoes were cold. Prime rib was rubbery. The server barely came by. Wastes over $100 on a meal we barely touched.
Overall very good experience but they were out of my favorite gin, and my second favorite gin, and my third favorite gin. They comped me the house gin. Which was very good. Rethinking my favorite gin.
Excellent menu, exquisite dinner, central location in Boulder and friendly service. Recommended.
Great food. Great service. Great price.
Amazing food and excellent service! Trout was delicious!
The food was excellent. We stay at the Boulderado every March, and always eat at Spruce. The food this year was the best we've had at the restaurant. Apparently they have a new executive chef, and he's doing a great job. Highly recommend the scallops.
Perhaps chalk it up to covid, but the food execution (March 2021) was off in the scallop dishes ordered (undercooked vegetables, overly salted, mediocre). In fairness, that and the fried sprouts were the only main dishes ordered. On a positive note, the mixology was excellent on the drink side as was the staff and service in spite of having to run around wearing masks.
It took half an hour to get drinks and another half an hour to get breakfast. I have great service here in the past but it was just plain slow today.
This was the first time I enjoyed brunch at this restaurant. We had a great experience. The waiter was very kind and accommodating. Given the Covid times- The atmosphere was quite airy, distance respectful and not over crowded. The food too was tasty and coffee powerful. I will be visiting again soon.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was even better! Our server was so attentive and kind! We will be going back for sure!!
Amazing food in a great, historic setting. Prime Rib is a must.
Impressive! When I made the reservation online, I didn't realize this was in the venerable Hotel Boulderado! What a kick to dine here. We enjoyed the service, the food and the ambiance. All four of us had seafood dishes which were exceptional.
Always great service, fabulous food and relaxing atmosphere.
Hubby and I came in with a reservation for early Sunday brunch. Waited for a long while and our eventual server was a train wreck. What a disaster. Fortunately the food was worth the wait! Delicious seafood quiche and omelettes.
Fabulous brunch specials and great atmosphere! Very romantic
Lovey atmosphere and great service
The bar area is also very nice. They are managing the COVID restrictions well
Spruce is one of Boulder's finest- a hidden gem. Top quality food and everything else! Highly encourage the trout, prime rib, scallops - and key lime pie!
Overpriced for what you get during valentine’s menu. The salad was decent. I ordered lobster and bacon wrapped filet mignon as my entree. I asked for medium rare and there was no pink at all. Turns out they gave me someone else’s plate. The lobster was rubbery and the green beans still had their stems! Once they brought me my correct plate, the steak was still over cooked, but the lobster was much better and I loved the purée. I actually preferred the bacon around the steak over the steak, which says a lot. The server was not the best multi-tasker and he rarely visited our table, but fortunately there was other staff that helped to fill our drinks and change out my entree. We had a couple directly behind us that were both on separate phone calls and the male was extremely loud with his conversation and so it was difficult to feel intimate in our experience. The final straw was when they brought out our dessert and the chocolate cake was the size of a bite-sized brownie you get from the grocery store that come with several in the package. It was literally the size of a quarter. It came with 3 cut strawberry slices that were clearly pre-cut days before and sat in the refrigerator and they were limp and not appetizing. My husband and I couldn’t help but make jokes about where the adult size dessert was and they gave us the kids menu version by mistake. This is what a $70 per person dinner equates too?! We couldn’t exit the restaurant fast enough in hopes to salvage the remainder of our valentine’s experience, but of course it would take another 10 min before we could get the server’s attention and the check. We will absolutely never me returning and are quite surprised by the ratings of this restaurant on open-table. Never again!
Great Food and a terrific waiter named Mark! Plus the ambiance of a historic property.
Mark is great! Thank you.
Warm Friendly Setting great for a Breakfast. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Thank you we really appreciate your kind words!
Food was very good except for one steak being over cooked. Waiter was not attentive. He never asked if we wanted additional drinks and never refilled water glasses.
We had a lovely time!! Our food was great and Sam, our server, was totally excellent!!! Everything was perfect!
Sam is great! Here at Spruce, I am so thankful for our staff. Each one of them are such great people to work with. See you soon!
We had brunch this past Sunday. I love this restaurant. Many happy memories here. Because of COVID, things seem to be running a little differently. Dining room was sparsely occupied, service was very leisurely. We love our waiter and have had him before. However, we had to ask repeatedly for coffee. The girl who brought our food said she would be right back with coffee and we never saw her again. Food was average. Our pancake special (cherry almond pancakes) consisted of pancakes, 5 stemmed maraschino cherries and a drizzle of chocolate syrup (not in the menu description). I am still looking for the almonds. I will forgive all of this—hey, it’s Boulder! But we did drive up from Colorado Springs so a little attention to detail would have been nice.
Thank you so much for coming in. I am so sorry that you felt the food wasn't up to par. You are right the attention to detail is important. Thank you for letting me know, I will talk with my staff.
Great place for Sunday brunch! I would recommend. We had excellent service and good food.
I’m usually a bit hesitant to eat at the hotels I stay at, but my wife and I had a really good breakfast here. I had the eggs Benedict which was excellent and the side of bacon was really flavorful. My wife really enjoyed her pancakes. If we go back to Boulder we will definitely stay at the Boulderado and eat Spruce.
The food was very mediocre, but our waitress was exceptional! Their drinks are also very good. I would suggest coming for drinks and apps, but go elsewhere for dinner.
Very friendly, excellent food and very good Covid protocol. We’ll be back!
Overall a good experience. We were seated in the lower level and would have preferred the main level.
