We really enjoy the atmosphere of SpringHouse for special dinners. It is a very nice, yet relaxing, place to dine and we have always enjoyed our meal choices. Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to our expectations as compared to past experiences. We started off with the baked oysters, which were very good. For entrees, we chose the shrimp and grits and the Montgomery style fish. The shrimp dish was only ok and the fish was quite bland. Even our chocolate bread pudding was disappointing- it was too cakey and slightly dry. Although this was not one of our best experiences at SpringHouse, I am sure that we will return at some point in the future.
Springhouse was not quite up to par with its usual standard. It could be it was the first week reopening after New Years and a couple of freezing snowy days. None the less, the atmosphere was delightful. Our waitress wanted to rush us until i asked her twice to slow down and let us enjoy our drinks an hor d'oeurves. My tuna was surprisingly dry and had obviously been sitting out. My wife's chicken was delicious. The chocolate dessert was Delicious as well. Peppadews are really good and a fun appetizer. The meat in the Cavatelli was tough but flavor was good. Gold Dust specially drink was perfect.
Food was delicious. Service was on point. Ambience was great.
Been here many times for Sunday Brunch. Hopefully will make it one evening for dinner. Wife's birthday coming up. Will be looking forward to a memorable dining experience.
We had a great time for a long overdue date. As usual, the service and food were great. However, because they saw more of an uptick in business that weekend they had run out of several entrees. My only real complaint. This was over the New Year's weekend.
Warm welcome, lovely setting, beautiful design and decor, delicious food served on Earthborn tableware, and a pleasant low-key sophistication are some of the reasons we return to Spring House. It's no wonder we see it featured in Alabama Magazine and other media.
We enjoyed the Sunday Brunch. The food was outstanding, they cure (smoke) & cut their own very thick sliced bacon. I don't believe I've ever had any bacon that approaches the flavor and taste of their "home made" bacon. Rob knows his food, preparation, service and with the beautiful setting, serves up a wonderful dining experience. The focus on local and regional cuisine expertly prepared enhances the experience. I've never had a better breakfast (Sunday Brunch) in my life and I have enjoyed excellent southern food for 70 years.

Sunday brunch menu is very reasonable and nice selection for cocktails if desired.

Outstanding cuisine with very friendly attentive service in an upscale rustic setting. Just wish they would have a soup on the dinner menu.
