Great brunch and attentive but unobtrusive service. Definitely will go again.
We now go approximately twice a month. Everything is always excellent! Certainly worth a try to those who have not been to The Tavern yet.
We have had large party of 60 for brunch excellent food and service only complaint is there was a service charge that I was not told about, there for it was not included in the price each person paid i was stuck paying the excess.
The recent visit was brunch to celebrate friends bdays they loved and said they will travel the hour to come back.
Very good meal! Waitress was great, she tolerated or
Best crab cakes in the region. Ask for oyster crackers and horseradish if you like really pungent horseradish.
Excellent meal and service!
Easter brunch was wonderful. The service was great. Foods for kids too. This was our second year coming and we will be back.
Took my wife for here birthday dinner. Very enjoyable. Food was excellent and timed very well. Jimmy our waiter and Michelle (in training) took very good care of us and provided very good service.
Great crab cakes!
Best crab dishes around. Try broiled instead of fried.
Accommodating staff, good service. We had a birthday and the staff cut the cake and took pictures.
Delicious and well-prepared seafood, for a good value.
Nice waitress , good value! Great cappucino
Four Aces! We had a great time and everything was top shelf. We shall be back soon!!
This was my first time at the Spring House Tavern and I wish I had gone with the regular menu and not the brunch buffet. The buffet was average. All that is listed in the website is really what you get. There was an omelet station, prime rib station and a limited hot food selection. The hot food selection included a few breakfast items like standard meats and potatoes and about 4 -5 lunch items. The dessert table was a little pitiful. All of the items were not fresh made but rather items that were purchased at Sams or Costco.
On the other hand there were many people who sat around us who ordered from the regular menu and their food looked great. I am planning to go back as I want to try the crab cakes but I won’t be back for brunch.
Great food and service. Enjoyed a specialty fish I hadn’t eaten before and it was very good. Dessert was also top notch. Will eat here again.
We went there for Sunday brunch. First time we ever tried Spring House. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was great and service was exceptional. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to our friends and family.
We were going out with friends and they wanted prime rib. After our order was in the waiter came back and told us. It took another 20 minutes to get our order in. My friend chose the chicken parm which was okay. I had a crab cake which was not lump crab but a lot of filler and deep fried. It was disappointing. I had not been there in many years and thought to give it a try again. My husband had the crab au gratin which was very good. Our waiter did not even come back to see if we needed anything or to see how the food was. Maybe it was just a bad night, but I doubt that I would go back.
We have had Jimmy as our server every time we visit. He is amazing. I'm sure the other staff is just as friendly and polite.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Jim, our server, was one of the best we’ve ever had. He was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding and the variety makes us want to return to try other selections. We loved the history behind the place and the cozy ambience. It is now our “go to” restaurant.
Great restaurant, just wish there was more room for my party. Up against another party - seats tight and they kept bumping into us and could hear their conversation more than our own.
our meal and service was excellent. our table was ready as per reservation.
Our waitress was warm and friendly and set the tone for a wonderful evening. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and the restaurant provided a complimentary ice cream dessert in honor of his birthday. Drinks were generous and the food was exceptional.
Spring house is becoming our Friday night go-to. Food is always good. Service is pleasant but drinks seem to take a long time to arrive .
As usual the food was excellent. Prime rib was done exactly as ordered and crab Imperial was it’s always excellent Shaap. Very pleasant waitress excellent service. Took reservation right on time and special menu for Valentine’s Day was complete and had all of our favorites on there
Very nice weekend lunch. The food was very good and the service was equally as good. We dined with 2 kids and felt very comfortable in the restaurant.
We took some elderly neighbors out for lunch. We had a very nice meal. My only complaint was that the dining room was quite cold. Our elderly friends were freezing. But the food was fantastic as always. My friend and I had a ham and cheese omelettes with mushrooms and the men had the grown-up grilled cheese which was excellent. We all enjoyed our meal immensely.
All three of us really enjoyed our dinners and I really liked my lemony
chicken francaise. Delicious! Relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Great service.
Everything was basically okay. So, overall positive. But, we were seated next to a large, noisy, distracting group. We had a hard time holding a conversation until that group left.
Family gathering for 7 for brunch. Everyone ordered the buffet which had varied choices and conatined items from appetizers to desserts. Food was very well prepared (prime rib was a bit fatty) and included the traditional breakfast fare as well as other entrees which include baked salmon, chicken piccata and chicken fingers and mac for the kids. The price is very reasonable. This is not our first time for brunch and we will be returning very soon.
Excellent meal . Karen our waitress was very attentive , accommodating, and wonderful .
Very nice local favorite. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Cant go wrong here
Everything was great here, including the service and food. And don't forget to try the coconut cream pie dessert - yum!
Had not been to the restaurant in some time.Return visit was with wife and 2 other couples.Had a reservation and were seated immediately.Very busy but service was friendly and attentive.Food was very good and portions generous.Prices were reasonable for quality received.Would definitely return.
Excellent food and a great value! Service is also very good. Outstanding crabcakes, crab saute and prime rib!! Look on there website for their daily specials, one is wine is half price by the bottle!!
After being seated it took over 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged by our waitress (and that was after she acknowledged those across from us who arrived after we did). She was confused about us both wanting soup and salad. My wife got hers both at the same while I only received soup. I had to ask for my salad. They should have been served sequentially. The Snapper Soup was thick and meaty. The salad was crisp and fresh. We were given some warm multi-grain bread “to munch on.” The soup, salad, and bread were the highlights of our meal.
My wife’s Crab au Gratin was a generous portion. My Local Jersey Scallops were sandy (nice and crunchy!) and only seared on one side. We both had the mashed potatoes and the “carrot mush” (they were so over-cooked they barely held their shape; they must have been sitting in the pot all day).
Plating was a mess. Soup was dribbled all over the saucer. Our entrees were thrown on the plate. It reminded me of a chow line in the mess hall – plop, plop, plop. Our waitress was either new or was having a bad night. We heard “Sorry about that” spoken to at least four other guests as well as us. Yes, I do want more water half way through the meal with an empty glass! The dining room was chaotic with servers, bussers, guests, and hostesses running up and down the aisle as if they were in a track meet. The busser was the exact opposite of the waitress – too quick and attempting to take plates before we were done.
The Men’s Room has a nice window with no covering, the vanity was covered with water, and the empty soap dispenser looked like it was from the dollar store. We gave the restaurant two stars because we were generous. We will not be returning.
Maybe it was what we ordered - side salad came with one slice of cucumber and one cherry tomato, the avocado and crab stack app was heavy on mayo, the adult grilled cheese was filled with overripe/brown avocado, and the angus burger meat was salty and flavorless - as well as the very spotty service that made our visit a little disappointing. This place came highly recommended from family, and I know they are known for some of their menu items (I always hear how good the crab cakes are), and the atmosphere/look in the bar area is nice, so we will definitely give it another chance at some point. It's just our particular outing was not a good first impression.
Excellent food and service! Will go back again and again!
Six of us enjoyed dinner here recently. The three men had prime rib which looked wonderful and they all said it was excellent. The other entrees were filet mignon, salmon and Mahi Mahi which were also delicious. We even enjoyed various desserts after our meal. We were not rushed and our waiter Jimmy could not have been nicer or more attentive. It was a very pleasurable experience.
