Spring House Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Overall it was a good experience. Unfortunately there was a table behind us with some noisy individuals. And my mother likes a certain type of bread that she always gets at Springhouse. The waiter said this type of bread wasn't available then later brought it out to the table behind us. Our bread was good but mom was a bit disappointed. Overall, we always enjoy our meals at Springhouse.
Excellent food , had the seafood combo as did my mother . Both enjoyed it greatly. Daughter had a salad with scallops , wife had the angus burger. All great . As you can see the restaurant has a very good choice for everyone . Our server jimmy was attentive and friendly . He made recommendations and answered all our questions with a smile . We will visit the springhouse tavern again soon.
A group of 10 friends came here for Father's Day Brunch& were not disappointed. The food was very good & was replaced as soon as servings decreased. The choices of different foods were suitable for many taste preferences. There were more than enough choices of dishes to taste & enjoy. We've never come here for the brunch & were pleasantly surprised. We will come again for lunch or dinner from regular menu. My husband & I used to bring my mother to Springhouse Tavern for the yummy crab cakes. The service was always good as it was today for the brunch. Servers are quite pleasant as well. We will definitely return as will some of our friends who never even knew of the Springhouse Tavern. Maybe we can eat out on the pretty deck area next time.
I took my dad for Father's Day brunch. The food was excellent. Lots of options. My dad could have eaten the lox/capers/onions all day. He rarely comments on what he is eating but he kept saying "This is good." Food was cooked very well - nothing was cold or dry. Family friendly without being too noisy.
They had a nice variety of choices on their Father's Day brunch buffet. My guy loves the eggs benedict, sausage & bacon. I didn't care for the waffles but enjoyed smoked salmon & trout along with fresh fruit & dessert. They had an omelet station, prime rib, chicken, salmon, dumplings amongst other offerings.
Overall, we like it here & will go back.
My Saturday night reservation at Spring House Tavern was a last minute thing. We arrived almost 30 minutes ahead of when I had booked the reservation, since the traffic was a lot less than I had anticipated, and we were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away on the outside deck. It was a beautiful night, the food we ordered was excellent, our server was very pleasant and attentive, and we also benefited from the lovely voice of a vocal artist on the deck beginning at 7 PM, and, she sang our kind of music. Our evening was an absolutely surprisingly wonderful experience all around. We hit it just right. The food, like I said was excellent. We had the stuffed mushrooms and the filet mignon crostinis as appetizers, the house salad dressing was italian caesar, very tasty, and our dinners were crab cakes (the best anywhere) and filet mignon, prepared the best ever according to my wife.
Although I had a reservation and requested a table outdoors, we could not get a table because it is first come/first served on the patio. Seems they can't figure out how to accommodate diners inside and outside at the same time. The food was not up to its usual quality. The steamed clams were tender and good. My crab cake was served on a very tired wilted piece of lettuce. The baked potato tasted reheated and the broccoli was mixed with older over-cooked pieces. My friends liver looked disgusting; one piece was stringy and bloody on the plate.
Our experience was fantastic as usual with only one exception. The table next to us with a threesome including a cranky old man interrupted our dinner to tell us to quiet down, and he kept giving us annoying looks. As a party of six we were not overly noisy and I feel that his intolerance was annoying.
We ate here with a friend from the area. I got the salmon and the other two got the single crab cake. Both were delicious. Nice ambience. Manager stopped by to check on things due to some kerfuffle on a wine mixup. She was very gracious and apologetic, although it wasn't that big of a deal for us. It was still nice to know that they cared. We would definitely be going back.
We have been to this restaurant three or four times before and had good experiences. Tonight not so much. I ordered a hamburger cooked medium. When it came to the table it look like it was rare and bloody. I asked for it to be taken back and cooked to medium when it was brought out to me it was on the same roll. The roll was soggy from blood. I had to ask them to take the rollback and replace it as well. I would have thought the chef would have thought of replacing the roll. When I was leaving I asked the hostess if the manager was there and she said she had gone for the night. She didn't ask if she could help me with anything.
We came here for a family brunch gathering and were quite pleased with our choice, The brunch was a buffet, served in a open bar area allowing plenty of room for guests and an artful display of food choices. There was something to satisfy everyone's tastebuds from fresh salmon and shrimp, individually prepared omelettes, prime rib, waffles, breakfast meats, eggs, and chicken fingers! Eggs benedict could also be ordered and were made individually and came out piping hot and delicious. All of this for a very reasonable price. There were also a la carte offerings for those with smaller appetites. Highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.
The atmosphere was nice, however our waitress seemed impatient and annoyed. It felt as if they were trying to rush us out the door. I thought the food was good but some of my dining mates were unimpressed. Maybe one day I will give this place a try again, but not for a while.
I ordered a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream - it arrived plain followed by "did you want strawberries?" Well, yes, it's on the menu. The server returned with an embarrassing ONE small strawberry cut up. My waffle tasted like a used kitchen sponge - inedible. I'm pretty sure the batter was made in the 1700's along with the building. The mimosa was pitiful - if I wanted plain orange juice, that's what I would have ordered. Seriously - don't order it. Also, props for this restaurant for having the balls to put "bagel" on the menu, when in reality we paid $3 for a Thomas' mini bagel. We honestly left feeling embarrassed for this place - it was absolutely terrible. Thought we were on a TV show being pranked. Had to ask for the check as soon as our food was dropped in fear of not seeing our server for another 20 minutes. I've never written a bad review, but this was unreal!
Spring House Tavern is one of our favorite moderately priced restaurants. The food and drinks are consistently good. They allow you to split an entree. For example you can have 1 crab cake and a generous portion of sauteed crab meat for the price of one entree. When I order a dry Beefeater Martini, up with a twist and rocks on the side, I don't have to write it down for the server.
I recommend Spring House Tavern !
Haven't tried this restaurant in years because the last 2 times we were there, the food was bland and not good quality. Well, I went against my thoughts, and gave it another try. Wrong move. The food was still poor quality. If you like institutional food that tastes prepared way in advance and you like your food cold, then you may like this place. That's the last time I will go there.
