Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & Bar located in Winston-Salem, the Piedmont region of North Carolina, is a destination for New American cooking and artisan cocktails creatively prepared by Chef Timothy Grandinetti. First of Alex was a great server and made recommendations that were perfect.
The food was exceptional. Catfish with collards was the special and spices. This should be a regular item as it was great. A favorite restaurant. Thanks!

The place is a absolutely gorgeous but expensive. The service is amazing plus if you like throwbacks and good vibes, this place is it. The food was decent, if anything the Filet Mignon is we’re it is at! Very nice place to take a girl to impress her.

This was our first time visiting Spring House.
As a world traveler and connoisseur of fine dining, I will have to say that this was one of best dining experiences my wife and I have experienced in the US, including the quality of food, atmosphere, attention to detail and desire from the entire staff to make it a wonderful event.

Enjoy a lovely Valentine's Day dinner with my wife at the Springhouse. Great food and service! Will certainly return! One of the better restaurants in Winston-Salem!

The food my wife and I was incredible. I had pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon that was cooked to perfection and as tender and moist like nothing I have ever had before. Our waitress, Kiley was a pleasant person that was not only informative about the food but also gave us great background about the history of the building. What a fantastic experience. We cannot wait to go back.

Love the setting. Food is really good but a little too much emphasis on BBQ sauce for its own sake. I really want to love this place but I just really like it.

We were excited to go to Spring House, since I have heard good things. I left disappointed that we had wasted our kid-free evening at this restaurant. Took forever for waitress to come around and ask us about drinks. Appetizers then came out before we even got our cocktails. They brought dinner out with our appetizers and plates still sitting there and then expected (I guess) for us to hold them while they juggled food around. I asked for my filet medium well, it was rare. I only ate around the edges. Also, I ordered a glass of red wine while eating appetizers to have in time for my entrée. She was walking to bring it to me when I was almost completely through with my entrée. My husband stopped her on the way to tell her not to bother. And then, we killed a bug on the table before we left that was crawling around. Overall, our waitress was nice, but the service levels were not great. She said the bar was backed up......get more help then! I don't expect to go to a restaurant like this on a Friday night and experience these type of issues. Not impressed, will not go back.

I was a little disappointed. The menu was too limited. We had brought cupcakes to eat after our meal but was told there was a $25 cost for doing so. I took them back out to our car.
The food was good but the portions were poor for what you paid. I had lamb which had a hair in it. That was a major turnoff. It was my wife’s birthday and though we were given a piece of cake to share we had brought the cupcakes to eat and wasn’t able to.
I hope this makes some changes to attract others like myself to want to come. It wasn’t what I expected and I don’t think I will be back.

This was my first visit to The Spring House. It was very nice and laid back. We arrived early for our reservation so we had drinks in the library bar which were good but a bit pricey. After we were seated in a very quiet area we had a glass of wine and ordered the bread appetizer which was exceptional. The menu is seasonal and I ordered the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon. It came with broccolini andca sweet potato. My date ordered the portabella mushroom caps. Both dishes were really complex with smooth flavors. We capped off our dinner with bread pudding for dessert. We will definitely come back again.

Beautiful place with excellent service, but neither my wife or I enjoyed our food. My wife ordered the fillet minion and the cut looked unusual, the cheese based topping was a little over the top. I ordered a spicy bison meatloaf and while I expected spicy, the spice was over powering, all you could taste was red pepper . Side dishes and appetizers were ok. Food I guess was just not our taste.

The Spring House is a great restaurant inside a charming 1920's house. The atmosphere is cozy and very comfortable. Menu selections are varied and our table sampled about all of the offered menu dishes, from buffalo to duck. Each entree was presented well and the flavors were unique and savory. The duck soup was a pleasant surprise and I would highly recommend it. Prices are a little on the high side, but the food and experience was well worth it. We stayed at the Cardinal and found the walking distance to the Spring House presented a nice stroll. Definitely will come back!

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant; however, the steak had bits of burnt meat stuck to the steak from a dirty grill. I asked for a box and brought it home for my dog to eat. I ended up only eating the sides which were very good. We also got desserts and they were quite delicious. Don't believe that I will be coming back to dine.

We had read wonderful reviews online for the Spring House and immediately made reservations with high anticipation of our evening. Sadly, we were greatly disappointed!

- Service was very poor: 20 minutes to receive cocktails, waitress jumped right into entrees without asking if we wanted appetizers, little attention, poor follow-up, ordered a beer and it took 25 minutes to be served as the waitress forgot. Entrees took over an hour to arrive and items we ordered we never served but we listed on the bill.

- Food Quality was lacking: one in our party ordered the signature filet cooked medium. He originally asked for medium-well and with persuasion by our waitress assuring him that the chef would achieve a nice pink through the center at a medium temp, he changed his mind and went with her suggestion. As he was eating he cut into the filet and found that it was VERY rare. Most of the steak was red with a very dark red section where the temperature was very undercooked from what he requested. The salmon would have been a nice dish, however is was extremely over salted … and I LOVE salt! The fired cauliflower and broccoli was one of our appetizers, it had no seasoning to it. It was very bland and ended up just being crunchy vegetables. Very disappointed in this dish, especially after I received an over seasoned salmon dish.

- Extremely loud atmosphere: There was a private party next door that made it almost impossible to hear others at our table. It made for an extremely unpleasant dining experience.

Outstanding meal! Especially enjoyed the shrimp and crab beignets. Leslie was a great server and the hostess was nice enough to go get a pillow from the bar for me when she heard my husband mention I am still recovering from back surgery. Will be back and will bring friends!
