Valentine’s Day dinner.
Thank you so much for spending your holiday with us, and are so glad you enjoyed your visit. We hope to see you again soon!
Great chef....we were really impressed with the presentation and great unusual seasonings....wonderful service and attention!
PaulM, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your meal and will pass your compliments along to the Chef. We hope to see you again soon!
We actually like the place, ambience, and server. Unfortunately, the kitchen was soooo slow! It took them forever to serve our food! I felt bad because I was the one who chose the restaurant! My husband's family were looking at me like: Where is the food? Our soup and other items were COLD! No wonder, there weren't much people there. :(
Great food, great service (with a smile), great price
CarolT, Thank you so much for your recent visit, and for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your meal and your service. We hope to see you again soon!
Staff was outstanding
Thank you so much for your recent visit, and for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed the service from our wonderful staff. We hope to see you again soon!
Very quiet. Only a few people there. Good service and food. In the Embassy Suites Hotel.
TopEater45, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit! I am glad to hear you enjoyed your service and food. We are occasionally quiet, if it happens to be a lower occupancy night in the hotel. That's why we love to welcome in locals! We hope to see you again soon.
I wasn't too impressed with the food. The reviews made it sound more impressive than it actually tasted. My Rib Eye was not medium rare but medium and tough. It was my birthday dinner and the only reason I walked out happy was because of my family and the dessert, which was AMAZING!! Overall, I'd only recommend Spriggs Grille for those who are staying there with no car to drive anywhere else.
FelerieG, Thank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we are constantly looking for ways to improve our guest experience. I am so glad you enjoyed your dessert, and hope you had a wonderful birthday overall.
Celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary here. We had the Spinach & Butternut Squash Lasagna in Béchamel sauce, and the
Impossible burger. Our server, Coleman was phenomenal. Great food, reasonably priced.
Thank you so much for your recent visit and for taking the time to review your experience. I am so glad you enjoyed your meal (the lasagna is my favorite thing on the menu!). Happy Anniversary, and we hope to see you again soon.
Springs did well with a limited food menu but an extensive drinks menu. Granted, since this is in a restaurant in a hotel in the suburbs, expectations weren't particularly high, but the food was good, if not outstanding. The salmon and short ribs were cooked perfectly; the spouse's fish and chips seemed over-breaded.
michaelrh, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit. We are so glad you enjoyed the food, our culinary team puts great thought and care into crafting each dish from scratch. We hope to see you again!
We stopped in here on our way home from a very difficult hospital visit so we were not expecting much just dinner! The food was surprisingly good or wait staff person was wonderful. It was pretty empty but we didn’t care we weren’t there for the ambience.
AStone, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit. I'm sorry to hear you were dealing with a difficult hospital visit, but glad we were able to meet your needs for dinner that evening and provide great food and great service. Due to the tucked away and somewhat hidden nature of our little restaurant, we can be empty some evenings, and we appreciate you stopping in to give us a try. We hope to serve you again in the future!
What an amazing find. Wouldn't have thought to try here if I didn't see on OT. Food was great and our server was a delight. We had the sockeye salmon and the lasagna, which was to die for. Not a very busy spot, our server told us you really only "need" a reservation on holidays but glad I made one anyway or else I would've not known this place was here, will be back
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your dining experience. We are so glad you enjoyed your food and service, as our staff puts a lot of thought and care into our seasonal dishes. We look forward to having you back soon.
Server was very accommodating when my father’s hamburger was served with a cheese plastic wrapper. His meal and dessert was free.
My prime rib was very tender and flavorful.
Went here on Christmas Day for dinner, because it was the only place open with available reservations for my party of 5. AWFUL service. Unbelievably slow, not attentive and poor. Food was definitely not good, but not bad enough to send back. Overpriced for the location and quality. Might be a good place for a casual weekday lunch, and is likely a decent chain-hotel restaurant for the weary traveler - but otherwise, chose another place when the circumstances make it possible!
It was ok. Portland has lots of amazing restaurants located in hotels and we assumed this would be one given they offered what appeared to be an amazing Christmas special. By 6pm they were out of prime rib, what we received was cold. Service was ok, I wouldn’t be excited having to work Christmas Eve either so we still tipped well It was fine but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.
We had the Impossible Burger and the Fish and Chips and steamed clams. All delish! Will definitely come back!
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit, and we look forward to serving you again soon!
A hotel restaurant. Food was acceptable, but nothing to go have again. Service was pleasant, once they noticed our arrival.
The food and service were good. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is a drawback. Ok spot to grab dinner.
Food was good, but not worth the price. 3 star food at 4 star prices.
First, let me say the food was great! The pomme frites were fantastic and everything we ate was so good. This place would get a solid five stars on all accounts, but while the food was so tasty the service was so incredibly slow. We were there for Valentine's Day and only half the tables were being used, so not busy in my estimation. There seemed to be lots of servers and people working in the restaurant. We waited over 30 minutes for our appetizer (pomme frites - literally french fries with toppings and dipping sauce). Then we waited another 30 minutes for our dinner. My husband said his grilled cheese sandwich was the best he'd ever had in his life. But the wait! Oh my god, we waited so long that while the food was so amazing, we felt let down. I even ordered an appetizer (chicken wings) for dinner. It should not have taken 30 minutes. So we looked at the dessert menu and decided to go for it thinking that wouldn't take long. But alas, no. It took over 30 more minutes to get a piece of chocolate cake, some caramel popcorn tossed on the plate, three dots of raspberry sauce and some chocolate sauce on top. It's cake! Why did it take 30 minutes? So again, the cake was amazing. Best ever, but it was overall disappointing. We will go back when we have nowhere important to be and we are in no rush and we will only order the pomme frites. That'll take about an hour.
Went here because it came up on OpenTable never heard of the place before.... it’s in the hotel completely empty when we arrived and was extremely slow the whole time we were there. Yet... we never saw our waiter and it take ages to get anything... a member of our party had to go around to the other side and saw the buffet or other area was very busy so maybe they just didn’t have their staffing for both areas right... idk
Service was a little slow, but it was Christmas so we were grateful to find a place close by that was open. Food was good, but not very hot.
Very good meal. Could have used bread while waiting for the meal
I was unhappy that a non-service dog was allowed in the restaurant. It was not even on a leash!
Although the food was okay, it was good in the proportion, but not in the environment. An okay meal, but well overpriced for the food selections. Turkey was okay, but it was expensive for the meal. The stuffing was really dry and some of the food got cold really fast as for some reason the A/C was on in the middle of winter!
The food and service are excellent. The room is quiet but does not provide an intimate setting. Access for those with mobility impairments is good. My only complaints are chairs that are far too low to the ground and very limited non-alcoholic drink options.
Austin was a fabulous server, the food was great and was a welcome departure from turkey on Thanksgiving.
Excellent service. Food was exceptional. atmosphere was really nice until a group of youngsters (probably hotel patrons) ran through the resturant and the adjoining open spaces this lasted only a few minutes. Even with the distraction we sat with our friends for almost 4 hours. We had an enjoyable evening and plan to return.
Phenomenal! The food was amazing and artfully plated. This place was a real hidden gem, you'd never think to find such great cuisine hidden inside a hotel but it was well worth the try.
Typical restaurant in the middle of a hotel. Extremely noisy with hotel guests in the lobby, many with kids. At one point, a kid threw a bouncing ball over the partition separating the lobby from the restaurant, almost taking out a couple of table settings.
When we arrived, it was supposedly open but completely deserted with a sign saying to please seat yourself. About ten minutes later, someone noticed us and a waiter finally came over. I ordered the fried chicken, which the waiter assured me was superb, and my wife ordered a steak. My kid ordered her typical grilled cheese. Since the waiter advised us that the fried chicken takes 25 minutes, we asked to bring the other food as it was ready. Forty minutes later, the fried chicken arrived first before any other food. The chicken was extremely bland and dry, and didn't even taste fried; it seemed more like an oven-baked chicken trying to pass itself off as fried. My wife's steak was EXTREMELY undercooked; she ordered it medium, and it came out closer to the raw-side of rare. It was also a very low-quality cut of meat; she commented that she could've picked up a cheap piece of meat at Safeway and thrown it in the oven and it would've turned out better.
I'd say if you're staying in the hotel and this is your only option, it's passable. But in no way worth a drive just for the meal.
The food was good and the atmosphere was quiet. My wife liked her tasty quesidia and my friend was thrilled with his salad.
Food was quite good as was the service by our waiter. However, the kitchen is a bit slow and there is no host so you seat yourself and can find yourself sitting awhile until someone appears.
Very modern setting. Happy Hour menu very diverse selection. Salsa on qeusadilla appears canned though.
Great food, great service. Probably because we were the only folks in the restaurant at 6pm on a Friday. Probably because no one knows this place is here.
I'd visit again. Tasty food and drinks.
Food was good, service was excellent, price was fair. The menu was not large, but was nonetheless good.
Surprisingly good food for a hotel restaurant. The burrata salad and steelhead were quite good. Be sure to ask about the different ice cream flavors they have; some are unusual and definitely not for kids!
Great service, food was very very good
Our server was great. Very attentive, professional and personal at the same time.
We were lucky to be recommended this place by the staff at the Hampton Inn which is right across the parking lot from this Embassy Suites, it was very rainy and my wife and I didn't want to go far. What a delight! The food was incredible! My plate looked like a piece of art, I wish I would have taken a picture. Our server (I wish I could remember her name, she was great) had answers to all our questions. Next time we are in town, we may just stay at this hotel instead, just so we can have this food delivered to our room (they have room service and our hotel did not). The bar seemed busy but there weren't many people in the dining room, PEOPLE! If you live nearby, come support this place its so good!!
I was very disappointed with the atmosphere. I've been to many hotels with restaurants and bars.
The lighting was way too bright. The restaurant had no ambience or privacy from people staying at the hotel, which happened to be a large group of different aged athletic groups.
That's fine but you can't have a fine or great dining experience with all that noise and no privacy. The restaurant needs it's own space and at least one person to greet incoming guests.
Very informal and chaotic. If you want people to have a great dining experience you need to change a few things. Also the food was good.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and decided to have dinner close by. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the atmosphere was. The chairs were comfortable, the food delicious (chicken pot pie and oven roasted turkey sandwich) and the service from Krystal exceptional.
