Sports Bar and Grill Farringdon Ratings and Reviews
We were a group of 5 that wanted a night at the bar for the NFL on the screens. There were more than enough tvs in full view showing a few different games. The food was excellent and service was superb; quick and friendly. We will definately be coming back for similar evenings next season.
Booked a table to here to watch a Friday night game of football. Had table service for our food and drinks which all came extremely quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Would highly recommend coming here to watch sporting events.
Five of us were off for a Monday-lunchtime long-service cheap lunch and the Farringdon Sports Bar and Grill ticked the boxes. Only a couple of other tables were occupied so there wasn't much atmosphere but the staff were attentive (what else did they have to do?). Disappointed that not all the puddings were available and we didn't even earn any OpenTable points, but it was a nice couple of hours out of the office.
We reserved a table to watch the Liverpool game. The table was fine and the service was hospitable. Food was good as was the ambience. Though the table service was courteous, it was a little slow - on occasion we had to wait over 15 minutes for a single drinks order.
We use this place as a standard bar to be able to watch some sports and get some fairly quick food. We have been here before a few times, plenty of screens to watch different sports. The food is of an ok value for the amount of money that it costs.
If you are looking for amazing food, then avoid, but if you want an easy lunch with a beer and some sports, this is not a bad place to visit.
Place is great to watch sports. Food quality is still better than average. Changes in staff make a huge difference though, and last visit was not as good as previously. Hard to say why, let's say it was a night off from the staff. On a Friday night, place was not as busy as usual so it may be a clear sign that format is getting a bit tired. Without service, it won't be any different from the next pub.
Have eaten here on many occasions for a burger and beer while watching a football match. It is usually absolutely fine even when packed and there is a big / popular game on. For some reason this time there were a few too many boisterous and aggressive people in there who were clearly drunk before they even got there. The TVs are usually pretty loud in there but you could hardly hear the commentary amongst people shouting at each other and several of them just couldn't stay in their seats and had to constantly jump up and down, blocking everybody else's view.
I thank the manager and those who served me for making the experience a good one. They were quick on hand to help you if you were stuck with choosing from the menu and they were able to make first hand recommendations.
In a handy location for a quick drink or bite to eat after work.
last week I went for the third time to this place to watch champions league games. Each consecutive time it seems to disappoint in some way. The first was good, the second time it took nearly an hour to get our food, the third time they only showed one champions league game on all of there 30 or so screens except for 1 screen which had cricket on. We asked twice could they put the other champions league game on as well and they gave some lame excuse about not being able to change it because they only have 2 satellite boxes or something. This place could be brilliant but it just keeps letting me down. I'm not sure if I'm gonna come back for the fourth time.
I had a group booking for lunch and all was fine: food ordered easily, came in good time and was delicious as always.
But... my draught Pepsi was flat, so I asked for a replacement and got a bottle of Coke instead; all good. Until I saw on the bill that I had been charged for the more expensive Coke, when all I asked for was a replacement of the draught, without any comment from the waiting staff. As I was trying to organise for 14 people to pay, I didn't get a chance to bring this up with anyone, and just paid for it, but not happy that they just did that.
went here with a mate to watch football...staff were very willing to come and take drinks orders, which was fine.
order food which was great for sharing and Liverpool won on the night too, which was nice!
overall, bit expensive, but probably expected for the area.
Booked on a Thursday to watch the football on a Sunday. Got a phone call at noon Sunday, 4 hours before my booking telling me it wont be honoured as the OpenTable should not have been taking booking for during this time. I was due to meet a group of friends there but with both Rugby and Football on we had no chance getting a table at another sports bar. Never again.
Really poor - booked via open table only to be told by the door man they were not honouring the booking. Showed the doorman the confirmation email and he laughed and said "I don't have a record of you so you're not coming in: open table bookings don't count."
Went and had a nice meal round the corner at Byron.
May I suggest not being on open table if you are not going to accept bookings?
The waitress would not let us in even though the place was empty because she was expecting lots of people to come in for the football match. We then made a booking online outside the restaurant and then she let us in! Rude service, poor looking place and food was so greasy. I really did not want to come but my friend insisted on watching football. Do not recommend this place.
Booked through OpenTable (which didn't work - the staff had no knowledge of the booking, despite having had an email confirmation) We waited a couple of minutes to be seated and then were told "we have a couple of other big parties, so can you order quickly?" We ordered promptly and waited for over an hour. In the time we were waiting, other tables were seated, ordered, ate their food, paid and left. After wasting our entire lunch hour, we left.
The staff were apologetic and allowed us to leave without paying for drinks. Shame, as have been before and it's been fine, but seeing as you asked for a review, OpenTable, here it is ;)
Service is always attentive, food arrives promptly. A proper sports bar, the best I have been to in London. It doesn't get too crowded, the restaurant limits capacity to avoid overcrowding. Be prepared to book though, ofetn is busy when there are major sports eventss. Oh yes the food. Good wholesome stuff, well cooked and decent portions, good wine list and selection of top draft beers.
