Our experience here fell far short of our expectations. The (inexperienced?) service staff was slow, inattentive and overall disinterested. The food, from presentation to temperature to flavor was just terrible. Food was bland, soggy, boring, and far from fresh. Overall, the quality of Spoonbar was far below the standards set by similarly priced restaurants in the area - or even much lower-priced restaurants for this matter. Want a much better burger? Go to In-n-out. Want better cioppino? Go anywhere else. Our experience here was a shocking disappointment.
Sat outdoors on a lovely patio, indoors seating also looked modern comfortable. Wines by the glass were tasty accompaniments to the different dishes. Pork belly bit appetizer and the cioppino were excellent! The special (fried chicken) was also good but a bit off the mark as the coating tasted a bit like flour. I was a bit surprised as this was a special/signature dish. Prices were reasonable.
Spoonbar is one of my Top 3 in town. Always great food in a fun atmosphere.
I liked the cauliflower steak option. Brussels were very good as was the salad and Cioppino. Halibut was dry.
First visit and we were very impressed! Service was stellar and food amazing.
We had the Sunday seafood special. We thought it would be good but it was truly amazing!! Thank you.
The food was good, but not worth the price! Think that might be our last visit!
Lovely outdoor dining with delicious food. We got the tuna sashimi, halibut and duck confit and all were a delight of flavor and texture. Halibut was light and flaky and the duck was crispy on the outside while still succulent — both paired wonderfully with their sauces and supporting elements. Finished off with a light lemon cheesecake and tiramisu — perfect summer evening!
We had a very pleasant dinner. Andrea our server was very prompt and attentive - her suggestions for drinks and desert were great as well. The halibut and cioppino were excellent.
Good food but pretty dreadful service - most of the waitstaff seemed to be busboys and unable to take orders. Food arrived before wine and needed to ask twice before we got drinks. Busy Friday night so maybe some excuse, but there are many better options in Healdsburg.
Spoonbar once again delivered a fantastic dining experience! The food was uniformly excellent and the cocktails were something special. Highly recommended.
Great location, wonderful indoor/outdoor options, diverse menu and excellent service
Our party of 4 (plus a 4-legged friend) dined outdoors in the backyard. It was lovely. The pretty lights on the fence and the generous space between tables made our dining experience both festive and intimate. I enjoyed the halibut and it was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy with a pasta-like bed. Everybody liked their meals, the drinks, and the service was attentive. My dog curled up and slept at my feet on this warm summer night. What a perfect evening!
A memorable meal in a delightful setting. Highly recommended!
Everything was great, except the drinks were very weak. Considering the cost of each cocktail, we should have been able to taste a little alcohol.
Overall the experience was very enjoyable out on the back patio. Our salad and entries of cioawere delicious. The dessert we chose should not be called a chocolate flan. It was nothing like flan and whatever it was it did not taste good. We did not eat most of it.We let them know and they were gracious about it and removed it from the bill.
The food was wonderful, great cocktails and nice patio for outside seating.
They were also very flexible about our reservation time when I called to let them know we were running late.
First off the food was exceptional. Given a choice, we picked patio dining. Our silverware arrived wrapped in cloth napkins. My napkin was sopping wet. The waiter went to replace it. Next visit from the waiter we reminded him. Still no napkin. We ordered a bottle of wine to precede the dinner. It arrived late, halfway through the meal. Began meal of bone-in baked chicken. Still no napkin and nowhere to wipe my hands so had to go inside and demand a fresh napkin. The heaters outside were in bad shape, instead of glowing red, flames were coming out the screen and wrapping around the top cover. With sunscreen tarps stretched just a couple feet above this may represent a potential fire hazard. Meanwhile yellow jackets began taking an intense interest in my chicken. I had to keep batting them aside while praying not to get attacked. I wolfed the meal down then moved my plate to an empty table to draw them away from my wife's meal. All-in-all, this was a little more adventure than I had expected for our 35th anniversary celebration. But again, wait staff was very friendly, food was excellent and to make up for all the above, there was no charge for our desert or coffee.
Great food, great service. It’s a must stop in Healdsburg!
We’ve been to Spoonbar several times but this time it was just outstanding . Food was amazing and service was on top of everything. We will definitely be back. Oh and this was our 11 year anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better spot.
Superb in every way!
Sat outside oN back patio and a wonderful evening. The Coppino was great but service was a bit slow but not in a rush so that was fine.
Good service. Uninspired food.
First time at Spoonbar. We sat out back by the creek and it was great. Our table had the fried chicken and the burger and both were delicious. Great service all around from the staff. Worth a return trip.
Great food and service plus live music on the 4th of July
Delicious duck confit and truffle fries
Super good bar
4th of July had live music and a BBQ menu. Loved the vibe and the food was good.
Lovely setting along creek. Food is dependably good. Staff friendly, efficient, polite.
Will be back soon.
Birthday dinner for my son with my daughter💕
Consistently flavorful, fresh, in season entrees. Kudos to Spoonbar. Will be back!!
Very friendly staff, they checked on us regularly. Great food as well
Excellent food and kind friendly service
Why would you have reservations available on open table a night that you are closed? And open table even reconfirmed the reservation with us You should fix this. It was very difficult to find a space at other local restaurants
Both my wife and I had to send our main course back (halibut was terribly overcooked, dry and chewy). The waiter was clearly exasperated and, after five minutes, returned to say that he and the chef had discussed it, disagreed with us, and that they "do not believe it will be possible to prepare the fish to [our] liking." After hounding us to order something else, the manager came over and - instead of apologizing - asked if we "like undercooked food." My answer: "No, I like it properly cooked." What I should have said was, "You know, the way that Chalkboard prepares halibut down the street. Perhaps you should visit there and find out why they can prepare it properly and you can't." The kicker is that we were charged for the salads we were hounded into ordering. We won't be back.
Well-thought-out cocktails – delicious. Interesting (but somewhat abbreviated) menu. Absolutely loved the cioppino. Well designed and fabulous "minimalist" architectural space – extremely comfortable and made us just want to hang out after dinner.
Great! This review asks for more words but I have none
Delicious food and everything was beautifully presented.
Great experience, excellent food and amazing service
Service and food fantastic as usual!
Chicken dish I ordered several months prior was superior to this time. The portion was less and less tasty hen before. It was sMarys chicken in menu
