We were surprised to get a table for 4 on a Saturday right in the center of Healdsburg, but the ample space held us. The gorgeous contemporary decor shines with concrete, wood and comfy upholstered chairs, along with expansive natural light coming from two walls of windows. Our server was charming, and accommodated our guest who is extremely gluten sensitive. Deelish apps of tuna poke, beet tartare (!!) and smoked octopus got us started. Great clean cocktails, and though we didn't drink a lot of wine, the list was diverse. For mains we had a breathtaking spring pea and Bellwether ricotta ravioli with crips pancetta, a nicely cooked NY strip with a uber creamy sauce and pickled kumquats, perfect salmon, and another homemade pappardelle that was the only imperfect thing on the menu; only because the citrus on it was overwhelming, needing more zest and less juice- but the texture was perfect. We shared a giant amazing panna cotta with citrus and left feeling glorious. To top it off it's not overpriced. Hooray!
The ambiance, service and food were all terrific. It was the perfect place to go after a day of wine tasting.
As Locals living in Healdsburg, we have a variety of great dining spots that we frequent- but Spoonbar is a go-to choice for special occasions. My husband and I love the ambience, the almost-al fresco dining when the large window doors open up to the sidewalk, the friendly staff, and amazing food/wine program. I also love that I can bring my favorite Sonoma County wine for no corkage fee!
This was SUCH an enjoyable experience!!!
The food was SO good!!! Our table shared the asparagus salad, and ahi tuna poke which was just wonderful, and had the risotto, the potato + black truffle culurgiones, and spring pea ravioli, for our entrees; it was all AMAZING!!!!
The dining room was quiet enough to carry on a conversation, which is rare in a lot of Healdsburg restaurants, and the waitstaff was professional and really excellent.
We will definitely be returning!
Great service and wonderful food. It's our first time there. We've been looking at coming before but always ended up somewhere else. Really glad we made it this time. We will be back. I loved the spring pea ravioli. Fantastic!
The restaurant is not one of the Top 8 in Healdsburg by any means. The number of waiters was between 3-4 for a room with 20+ people in the restaurant and another 10-12 in the bar. Most of the wait staff hung around the bar visiting with friends. As a result, the service was slow, slower, and even slower.
When the meals were finally delivered 45 minutes later, two of the items didn't make it to the table. As we were leaving(90 minutes later), one of the wait folks asked if we wanted our Brussel Sprouts, as they were almost ready.
Simply put, almost all the restaurants in Healdsburg are much better than H2. Try Valette, Baci, Dry Creek, Willie's, Chalkboard, and 3-4 others before you sink to H2
We had a great time, it was a special jazz night too. Cocktails were the perfect start and the meal was excellent starting with the bacon wrapped stuffed dates and ending with doughnuts and panna cotta. Highlights: asparagus done to perfection, seafood like octopus and ahi, and the spring ravioli melts in your mouth. The chefs really make optimal use of seasonal ingredients, presentation stunning. Spoonbar's atmosphere both in the bar and dining room is always fun. I love dining at Spoonbar.
Service was occasional...we poured all but the first glass of wine. Steak was tough. Space is very nice. This place needs a manager who knows the restaurant business.
We’ve been here on a number of occasions and found the food to be hit and miss. The hit on this occasion was the poke, the miss was the bbq smoked octopus (too many potatoes and not enough octopus). Had that dish there before and it was excellent. We went because a percentage of their proceeds were to benefit the local educational foundation. We’ll probably go back at some point, but it may be a while.
The food and wine were amazing. The som came by and guided us to a wine that is now one of my favorites. We closed the place down, and loved every moment. Will go again, and hopefully again!
This place is amazing!!! Every food we had was delicious!!! Second time my sisters and I been there. Service is always top notch! Please try it, you wont regret it.
This was our first time at Spoonbar and we will certainly be coming back. The Unique flavorful dishes and cozy environment made for a perfect date night.
Over priced food with ridiculously small portions. Slow service. No gluten free options.
My friend and I had a meal during the Sonoma Restaurant week (we are locals in Healdsburg). I had the beet selected the beet salad and it was gorgeous and delicious. My friend had the ravioli and it was delicious as well. I had the chicken breast entree and it was so beautiful, I had to take a picture. The chicken was succulent and accompany vegetables were very flavorful. My friend had the risotto and it was excellent as well.
The desserts were great and fun, donuts with the donut holes and Mexican hot chocolate and
a light and creamy pana cota.
We plan to return!
Went for “Restaurant Week”.
Had an excellent dinner, very fresh with various flavors.
And the service was outstanding!
Had the restaurant week special dinner, it was very well executed. The mojitos were delicious. The service was some of the best I've had. We will be back!
Creative food and good cocktails. Our waiter was really great We had a very nice dinner on a quiet night. Get the doughnuts they are fabulous
We shared a salad that was delicious and huge. Brussels sprouts starter was excellent. Free corkage for our wine kept cost low. Great value. Also - the staff set up a table in the lounge for us so that our dog could be with us instead of locked in the car. A very nice touch.
Would have been good for all the options above. Nice looking space with great food
Poor Ben, our server, was just overwhelmed. Luckily we are familiar with the menu, so were able to make do with placing our orders sans input or any check-ins from Ben.
Our food was very mediocre and the tiny salad was very overpriced. We each had one glass of wine at the beginning of our meal, which took a while to receive. Before we got our entrees we ordered one more glass of wine and it did not arrive until we were sitting waiting for the waiter to come back to clear our dishes. Very disappointing as we had read good things about this place.
The food is absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. The overall level of pretentiousness is about what you would expect from Healdsburg without being over the top. The pasta portions are small, so definitely plan on appetizers, salads and dessert. The cons: The booth seating is uneven and slides on the concrete floor and the wash area in the bathroom is coed. Ladies want a proper powder room where they can fix their face and talk about their dates.
Quirky space - almost like eating in a hotel lobby.... but food and service were very good. The wine list features top selections of local area wines.
Stayed at the H2 hotel which is excellent and had dinner here. Great food, good decor. Very quiet weekend but expect during the summer this place is hopping.
Pasta Sunday’s are awesome. Free corkage on Sonoma wines is a great deal for us locals.
Service & Ambiance was great. Food was good, portions were small and in my opinion over priced. However, would eat there again.
Great drinks. Awesome food. Wonderful experience!
My partner and I enjoyed a two-day holiday getaway to Healdsburg, one of our favorite wine country spots. We stayed at the H2hotel where the Spoonbar restaurant is located. We dined there our first night and while we enjoyed the food, the service was quite amateur. We had ordered oysters, a first course and a main course. The oysters and first courses came at once, crowding the small table, and the wine was slow to arrive -- not until after the plates were delivered. We had to ask to slow down the service of the main course. It was a Wednesday night, lots of empty tables, so there was no need to rush the people who had shown up. We thought it might have been a fluke, but in conversation with Healdsburg friends the next day we learned that they had had the same experience. It's surprising for a restaurant of this caliber.
Fantastic experience! Great service from Jason.
The food was not worth the price we paid, and no gluten free bread with dinner but it was available at breakfast? Bar drinks were terrible! Sorry to say this since we were hoping this would have been a new favorite for us. Our waiter was very nice, but not very helpful or knowledgable.
Excellent Christmas night dinner here. Four courses. Festive. Well presented and tasty. A lovely experience.
Thought we were going for Sunday pasta pre fixe. Turned out that had been put on hold until the new year. Three of us dining. We ordered three starters and all three pastas on the menu. EVERYTHING was delicious! Price was not more than we were expecting for pre fixe menu. Pastas were as good or better than San Francisco restaurants famous for their special pastas. Service was great. Want to give special notice to Young man named German. He was engaging and gave us excellent service.
Great dining experience again. Garden fresh greens/purples adeptly dressed. Uber fresh oysters need no adornment but chef’s idea of granite (champagne vinegarette this time) adds rather than detracts from o/w perfect dish by itself. Roasted potatoes are all about the potato and not the crunchy roasted exterior- initially I missed the crunch but soon found the beauty of the heirloom varietal potato itself. Handmade pasta needed nothing but fat and salt but got a nice tomato sauce too.
I believe that the Chefs have really hit their stride. This was a truly fantastic meal. Well Done!
I think this has to be one of the best overall experiences I have as at over 100 restaurants ...my top 3! I'll be back!
Excellent good from start to finish!!
We love Spoonbar!
Not the best Restaurant Healdsburg has to offer. I expected more. Disappointed in both drinks and food.
Outstanding food but bar and wait staff was sparse. The chef was the winner.
This visit was very hit or miss. We had been once before and had a great meal and great service.
We had one of our dearest friends visiting and I specifically asked for a nice table so we could enjoy ourselves and eat, drink and be merry. We arrived on time and were seated next to a family with a toddler. I thought this odd since I asked for a special nice table and the restaurant was not full. We were there adults having a nice dinner out and really did not want to hear a child wining. At least they were finishing up and left not too long into our meal. Our waiter was very nice but the service was extremely slow and my husband had to ask to have our dishes cleared twice. My chicken entree was also waaaay overcooked. Not what you expect from the location and pricing on the menu. I feel mixed about returning - especially since there are so many great places to eat in Healdsburg.
