   I would describe the food as rustic but it was delicious and obviously made from scratch. I was unsure when I booked it but I would return without hesitation. The staff were pleasant and attentive.

   Lovely calm and relaxing ambience. Refreshing change from the usual four walls I'm used to these days. I will be back!

   The restaurant had relaxing feels to it's interior and friendly staff. The meal was ok, not particularly special but still good dinning experience. I had grilled duck and beetroot with black pudding. Meat was little tough but rest was nice compliments. Only one or two vegeterian main dish which I thought is little dissapointing and it was pasta dish as well.

   Just wanted to warn fellow Toptable users that when we arrived at Spoon, they didn't have a record of our booking, as they said that they have stopped using Toptable. I'm really not sure why they're still listed on the site, but best to book direct if you want to go. As to the place itself, we enjoyed our early evening, pre-theatre visit to Spoon, though I left feeling it didn't represent fantastic value for money. The room is quirky, though maybe not cluttered enough to make the huge space actually feel intimate or homely. Staff are friendly, and the food was solid if unspectacular. I imagine it's a lovely place for brunch and papers, though wouldn't rush back for dinner.

   'MEDIOCRE' was the overall agreed description for Spoon, Edinburgh by our table. The Restaurant itself was quite quirky in decor although sparse for size of room which was light and airy. Service was slow considering restaurant was no where near half full (even during Festival) - we had to prompt staff for everything! Food was average and over-priced for what we received. 2 out of 4 of fish dishes ordered were over-cooked as was pasta dish. On the plus side beef was lovely and hand cut chips were amazing!

   I dined at Spoon during the Fringe. Normally during the Fringe restaurants are packed and horrible to sit in. But because Spoon is located through a small door and up a flight of stairs it missed the rush. The food is fantastic, well sourced, free range, really tasty. It's great for breakfast and well worth a visit.

   Very good value pre theatre menu at £10.95 for 2 courses. Staff very pleasant.

   Delicious! The spoon cafe bistro in edinburgh served delicious food in a quirky casual restaurant. I would definitely go again.

   Spoon Cafe Bistro in Edinburgh was lovely food and good sized, well spaced out tables. The staff were lovely and were very apologetic for the unbelievably noisy group that came in a while after us. Ths was the only down side to a lovely dinner and we chose to go somewhere quieter for coffee and desert.

    We ate an evening meal in Spoon in Edinburgh. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. Perhaps there could be more veggie options on the menu, however. The portion sizes could also be more generous.
