Excellent authentic Italian cuisine. Many options on the menu. Excellent desserts!
You will never go wrong dining at Spirito's Restaurant. Food and Drink selection is plentiful, wait staff is always attentive, atmosphere is casual, and surroundings unique.
This meal was very much a disappointment that started with a very rude owner. He was very annoyed about having to rearrange his seating chart due to a handicap person and made it known to the customers waiting. We were seated a half hour after our reservation and then dinner took two hours. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She did give us a free drink and appetizer for the inconvenience. The food was not worth the money. Everything gave you a lead aftertaste. It was mediocre Italian food at best and not cheap.
One of my favorite places to dine. The area is where my roots began. The atmosphere is beautiful and homey yet also romantic. So much to look at and admire. The food and waitstaff are excellent. Always a good meal and wonderful experience.
Service, ambience, food, value...top notch ! We've never been disappointed in anything what we have ordered. Special place for us !
As usual, food, service and ambiance were tremendous.
A hidden gem. This is our second tie dining there and it was terrific. We were a bit late for our reservation & the restaurant was packed, but they took great care of us and made us feel welcome nonetheless. Food was great, service was great. My son loved the kid's spaghetti & Meatballs, as it comes with 1 giant meatball. I had the pasta with rage & sausage & it was good.
Desserts were also great. Love this place.
We went on a Tuesday for the two for one special. The minestrone soup was delicious; I had the veal parmigiano while my friend had chicken with mushrooms. Dessert was included and we tasted the warm bread pudding and the Italian spumone. The food was good and the dining rooms had beautiful scenes from the Italian coast.
Staff was attentive upon arrival, sat us at a high top in a corner and offered to move us once they saw how crowded we were. Waitress was quick to bring water and take drink orders, offered lemons never arrived, we ordered a bottle of sparkling water, glasses were never provided, when water ran out there was never a refill despite asking twice. Fried mozzarella appetizer was much to heavily breaded, most of what was ordered sat uneaten on the plate. A sausage pizza was ordered, came as sausage and mushroom (my husband didn’t specify no mushrooms, his fault). They took the pizza back and made a sausage only pizza, by the time it was ready we were finished eating so he had it boxed to take home, they charged us in full for both pizzas. At conclusion of the meal the waitress took our card and took 15 minutes to return with our card/receipt. Everyone was very friendly, the food was disappointing.
consistently good with great service. fantastic ambience is perfect fora date.
My husband and I used to eat here frequently. A couple times a month, normally spending $150+ each time we visited.
I previously left a 5-star review. Today I'm changing it to 1-star and we will NEVER return again.
We ate here a couple nights ago. When my credit card bill came in the restaurant had charged me more than I had signed for. I also left a 20% tip which I routinely do. The overcharge was only $10 but it's the principle.
I called the restaurant WELL BEFORE lunch service and asked to speak with Greg, the owner. I was told he was in the kitchen and too busy to speak with me. I explained the situation to the lady who answered the phone and asked for a callback.
12 hours later NO CALL. I called my credit card company and they fixed the problem for me. I then called back asking for Greg again only to be told again that he was too busy to speak with me.
He called me the next day and was rude and insulting. He stated that "24 hours is plenty good enough for a business callback." If this man has that kind of disregard for his customers and their finances then what else is Spirito's disregarding.
This was a disgusting example of ZERO customer service skills or customer care.
I'll take my dining experiences to a business that cares about its customers!
We waited 90 minutes for good, didn’t receive our appetizer or wine and when food cane chicken was cold. Waitress was overwhelmed
We had reservations. They gave us a high table which was very small and uncomfortable.
Our waitress was terrible. It took her one hour and forty minutes to bring our dinner. There were two table next to us with a total of 6 people(four and two). They both were seated after us. Both tables had finished their food before ours was served.
Our waitress was very inattentive and most of the time she was no where to be found. Food was ok. Service was beyond terrible. The ratings do not allow for anything less than one star but ZERO is the real rating.
I have been there many times but will not be going back.
Great experience!! Excellent food, great ambiance. Large portions & great value.
We went because it was Restaurant week, ended up ordering off of the regular menu & my 11 year old son & I both loved it. We will definitely return. A hidden gem.
We went during restaurant week without realizing it. We had reservations, but they still sat us about 30 minutes after the reservation. The bar was full, so we couldn’t even enjoy a drink. Finally, we sat and ordered, our food was late, and cold, very cold. The veal looked like 3 slices of “steak umm’s” and even the dessert, ice cream, was an embarrassment, 3/4 melted, but they still brought it to the table.
This was our first time there, I hope this horrible experience was due to it being restaurant week, but we probably won’t take our chances there again, not with so many amazing restaurants in the area.
This restaurant has an old-school Italian feel and it attracts many repeat customers. The food is tasty and reasonably priced and it's not too difficult to get a reservation. Also, parking is plentiful.
Our waiter Mike was great, very friendly and a great waiter
Service was great. Food outstanding! Been here before and very consistent.
Excellent time and experience. Surprisingly sophisticated and simple at the same time.
Has it’s own parking lot which is very helpful. The food and desserts were very, very good.
Staff was extremely friendly, amazing service and excellent cuisine
They ran out of cheese ravioli
Excellent food and service as always. I love it there.
I've been here before, and was very pleased. Perhaps because it was at the holidays, but was disappointed because it was a special lunch and the reservations were made well in advance.
The table was right behind a door and was too small for four diners. The waiter was very new. No bread was offered, even with soup, but there was no room on the table for it anyway. Worst part, the menu states that soup or salad AND vegetable or pasta comes with an entree.
However, we were told firmly that we could only have one choice, not two, and we were reading it incorrectly. The menu should be corrected if that's the case. The food was very good, on the plus side.
This was our second visit to Spiritos. We were meeting friends on Saturday night. Place was very busy. Our second visit was not as good as our first. I think because they were very busy they were somewhat scrambling and the quality of the meal suffered. The quahogs I ordered as an appetizer were lukewarm at best. I should have sent them back but we all got talking and I didn't want to wait. My entrée, chicken masala, was tasty but again not really as warm as I would have liked. My wife got veal and when we got home she had the same complaint, cold food. The Rabi that came with the sole that the other couple ordered came out late because they forgot to put in the order. I don't think I would recommend this restaurant to others or go back anytime soon. I prefer a restaurant that is consistent.
The food, service and atmosphere are excellent! I love the inside and outside of the building. It is like walking back in time. The detail in the architecture is stunning. This has quickly become one of my favorite places to dine.
Everything was perfect!
We had Veal, Marsala and Saltimboca and penne. Well prepared with good potions, enough for another meal. With 2 glasses of wine and tip...$90.
The evening with friends was so perfect at Spirito's! We love the dinner special they offer on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Included was a cantina of red or white wine, delicious bread, soup or salad, a selection of several entrees, and a choice of desserts. Our party of four were so satisfied with the veal parmigiana as well as the eggplant parmigiana. The caramel gelato we each chose was a small portion but very delicious.
Food was average. Prices were ok. Veal parmesan was dry. Not enough sauce to cover meal. House salads were weak. Other meal, shrimp scampi was ok. Only 4 small shrimps with decent amount of pasta. Drinks were weak. Overall, ok. Not in a rush to go back.
Food was absolutely amazing. Setting very nice. Good location. Did wait a long time for our food but they were very busy. Food was worth the wait. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back.
Italian food at its best! Amazing pasta bolognese ! Studded squash flowers are a seasonal delight. The snail salad was not only fresh but prepared perfectly. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with specialty dishes to explore.....Spiritos is the place. Check out the website for Sunday specials including brunch. You will never be disappointed.
Food, service, and dinner for two meal was great. The veal was outstanding as well as the eggplant. Our friends were disappointed that the bottle of wine formerly included in the special was changed to a cantina or pitcher of wine. It was great to be able to take home a little wine if we could not finish our bottle.
What a disappointment. I was truly looking forward to a new Italian dining experience in a neighborhood I had not sought out before. No part of the evening merits positive ratings. The greeting was perfunctory, the dining room we were directed to was empty so we sat alone at a window. The service was glacially slow and amateurish would be a kind adjective. Every time we needed something we had to find our server. The food was perhaps one level above school cafeteria quality, although the prices would suggest rather high quality. I will definitely not return. There are too many wonderful restaurants in the Providence area to make this choice.
This is an old-style Italian-American place - the site of the Providence Italo-American club, in fact. Nice ambiance in an old house. Huge portions of classic Italo-American fare: veal parmigiana, fried mozzarella. The linguine that accompanied the meal were overcooked, so I would recommend staying clear of their pasta - which is a shame, since that is obviously a big part of their menu.
Wonderful meal ! This is not a place to come in a rush. We stayed a couple hours. Good food takes time, and it was worth the wait.
Beautiful building
Friendly Waiter
Tasty Sangria
Extensive Menu
Good Portions
Suggestions: Flavored olive oil for bread instead of butter packets.
Dipping sauce for calamari (marinara).
Entrance needs a "wow" factor to compliment the rest of the building.
Service was awful they forgot to place the entree hour later waitress insincere starts it will be a little longer when questioned she gives my wife dirty look and leaves. The manager was top notch and took care of it but left hungry
Food was excellent ... great old fashion! Great atmosphere!!
Toni waited on us Saturday night and did amazing job, We were totally satisfied by our service . Only problem was that my wife's food came out cold. The restaurant was not busy at this time. Toni did take care of the problem. Having cold food is not enjoyable for us. I'm not sure if I will return to this restaurant.
We took a chance on Spirito's for a nice dinner with my mom while she was in town, and we took our toddler along. We were helped graciously to entertain my kid and we didn't have to wait too long for our food even though it was 7:30pm on a Friday night. The interior architecture is very old style fancy and I love that sort of thing. I was happy to be able to feel comfortable with my kid there. We all had a great time, and the cocktails were generous. More pricey so try to use it for a special occasion!
