Spirito's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The evening with friends was so perfect at Spirito's! We love the dinner special they offer on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Included was a cantina of red or white wine, delicious bread, soup or salad, a selection of several entrees, and a choice of desserts. Our party of four were so satisfied with the veal parmigiana as well as the eggplant parmigiana. The caramel gelato we each chose was a small portion but very delicious.
Food was average. Prices were ok. Veal parmesan was dry. Not enough sauce to cover meal. House salads were weak. Other meal, shrimp scampi was ok. Only 4 small shrimps with decent amount of pasta. Drinks were weak. Overall, ok. Not in a rush to go back.
Italian food at its best! Amazing pasta bolognese ! Studded squash flowers are a seasonal delight. The snail salad was not only fresh but prepared perfectly. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with specialty dishes to explore.....Spiritos is the place. Check out the website for Sunday specials including brunch. You will never be disappointed.
Food, service, and dinner for two meal was great. The veal was outstanding as well as the eggplant. Our friends were disappointed that the bottle of wine formerly included in the special was changed to a cantina or pitcher of wine. It was great to be able to take home a little wine if we could not finish our bottle.
What a disappointment. I was truly looking forward to a new Italian dining experience in a neighborhood I had not sought out before. No part of the evening merits positive ratings. The greeting was perfunctory, the dining room we were directed to was empty so we sat alone at a window. The service was glacially slow and amateurish would be a kind adjective. Every time we needed something we had to find our server. The food was perhaps one level above school cafeteria quality, although the prices would suggest rather high quality. I will definitely not return. There are too many wonderful restaurants in the Providence area to make this choice.
This is an old-style Italian-American place - the site of the Providence Italo-American club, in fact. Nice ambiance in an old house. Huge portions of classic Italo-American fare: veal parmigiana, fried mozzarella. The linguine that accompanied the meal were overcooked, so I would recommend staying clear of their pasta - which is a shame, since that is obviously a big part of their menu.
Toni waited on us Saturday night and did amazing job, We were totally satisfied by our service . Only problem was that my wife's food came out cold. The restaurant was not busy at this time. Toni did take care of the problem. Having cold food is not enjoyable for us. I'm not sure if I will return to this restaurant.
We took a chance on Spirito's for a nice dinner with my mom while she was in town, and we took our toddler along. We were helped graciously to entertain my kid and we didn't have to wait too long for our food even though it was 7:30pm on a Friday night. The interior architecture is very old style fancy and I love that sort of thing. I was happy to be able to feel comfortable with my kid there. We all had a great time, and the cocktails were generous. More pricey so try to use it for a special occasion!
My husband and I brought another couple to Spirito's Restaurant for a birthday dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find out it was Restaurant Week. Dinner for 2 selections were impressive and delicious! Service was excellent! Prices very reasonable. What a wonderful evening we had!!!!!
Very happy with our dining experience.
Once the handicap ramp was found, our friend entered the restaurant (with walker)
Food was great, waitress very informative, friendly and professional.
Was a little surprised to see hostess in jeans and casual top.
We dined here recently during restaurant week. They had a 2 for 1 deal. 2 meals for 34.95. It included soup or salad, entree and dessert. I got the scrod with potato and summer squash. The clear chowder was good,as was my meal. My husband got chicken parm, which was cold. The waitress apologized and had it heated. It was good once it was hot! Dessert was ice cream or bread pudding. The building is an old house? Very nice and has a parking lot, which is great. Overall food was good, not great, but for the price,a good deal.
A blast from the past when Italian-American cuisine was eggplant parmigiana and chicken Milanese. In a restored Victorian, the meal included a side salad or soup, and pasta with red sauce. The waiter was attentive and kind. And we found a great red wine. Our guests enjoyed the experience.
For me , the meal represented old school Italo- american food. Safe, but less focused on premium ingredients than I would have wished.
Our chicken parm was delicious. Our outdoor seating was great our waitress arianna was really patient and very helpful. I was with a friend that I haven't seen in 6 months and we were not rushed at all. It wasn't very busy as it was mid afternoon. Their sauce (gravy as we say in Rhode Island) is soo tasty. The only drawback was that even though the lunch menu stated we could have soup or salad AND pasta - that wasn't the case. Either or. It was still a good deal for 12.95.
The building and interior design is interesting--much like dining in someone's house. The food was heavy, old-fashioned Italian and was mediocre at best. House salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with a couple of black olives, cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. My veal Marsala was somewhat tough and the sauce was heavy. Waiter was attentive and professional. We brought out of town relatives for dinner and were not impressed and probably won't go back.
They were able to honor our request for the small outdoor dining area and it was fabulous. Especially nice when dining on the lobster special, which by the way was excellent!
Table outside was not at all crowed together and there was a nice breeze. Would highly recommend this if you enjoy outside dining.
Waitress, Ariana, was one of the most accommodating and friendly. Made out experience that much more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this restaurant. The server, who was very nice, was not very good. She forgot how people asked for their cocktails, forgot various requests for water and ice, dripped broth next to my husband, and walked right into someone else's chair, without so much as an apology. We were six in our party, my husband and I got pasta dishes, both had way too much oil, lacked seasonings, and mine was overcooked. I have to say my parents, who got the lobster specials were happy with their meals. Two out of six not bad?? !!! I also requested a birthday cake for my mom, which when I asked in private after the meal, they said they had no idea of my asking for it in my reservation.
The atmosphere is fit for a queen. The service staff is beyond excellent and the food is out of this world. Need I say more. It was my second time eating there and I will go back many times. I was with 4 other guest and they absolutely loved it and want to go back. We all felt very regal in that beautiful restaurant.
The food is amazing, the staff is always friendly and professional and the restaurant is clean and decorated beautifully. One of my new favorites. Great drink specials all the time too. The smaller rooms keeps the noise level down so you can have a conversation without raising your voice.
I was in Providence for a graduation. Although we usually stay on Atwell Street we thought we would try somewhere new. I consulted with "Open table" and the reviews were positive so we booked a reservation. It was very busy yet our server was attentive and the food was great.
The restaurant is in an old house and the decor and detail is so warm, reminds me of my great grandmother's apt on Tobey street!!
The food is delicious. The meatballs were delish, not breast at all. The sauce was like my Nana's use to make.
The service was great. Our waitress was so nice and attentive.
I highly recommend it.
