Excellent food they are moving to a new location with less ambiance but the food and service should remain excellent
We love this restaurant, however, we were quite disappointed this time. Food would have been better had it been hot when we received it. Seemed like there were large parties and it was noisy with the DJ/band upstairs.
Always fabulous, can never go wrong with any meal on the menu.
Consistently excellent cuisine.
Great service. Great menu.
We love Spirito's and will miss it as it moves to another location. The food, ambiance, and service have been excellent. Much luck in your new location but I sadly know the ambiance will be very different.
Not the same place as when it opened. I can see why it was not very busy for a Saturday night. Hostess was rude. We were crammed into a table in an awkward area, so when the waiter was at the table behind us, he may as well have been sitting in my lap (not blaming the waiter here). Food was average. I will not be heading back here again. Unfortunate, as I used to rave about this place.
Our table was ready when we arrived and we were seated right away. The food was wonderful. The only criticism was that the server read the specials of her pad. Usually this is done without a cheat sheet.
The food was and always is fantastic here. At the end of the night, we spoted a mouse walking across the floor. This was some what troubling because when we told the waitress she was not surprised at all. Tbat tells me they must have been there for a while.
Food and service were excellent. This was my first time here and glad we got to see the decorated older home. Sorry to see it close soon.
Spirito’s was wonderful when it was in its old location. Warm friendly family place and well priced. The new Spirito’s is pretentious overpriced and food is average. We had a child with us and asked for quick service, ordered quickly and sat there waiting a long time for food. Sadly it’s our last time there. We chose it because of the parking lot but it’s not enough.
As always a very good dinner....
Consistently excellent all around.
Great food and great service.
We arrived on time and were shown directly to our table. The atmosphere is old rather Victorian elegance, the wait service was good, attentive but unobtrusive, the menu was standard Italian. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer and it was excellent. Bill was $150 for the four of us and only two had a glass of wine. We didn’t do coffee or dessert there.
Delicious meal served by an attentive wedding in celebration of my brother and sister in law’s anniversary. The place to go for terrific Italian food!!!!
Very good Italian food! The restaurant itself is in an excellent location with lots of FREE parking. Great character as it appears of have been an old historic house with intricate woodwork and fireplaces. The salads were very fresh and my girlfriend's blue cheese dressing had big chunks of blue cheese. My chicken parm was excellent ... cooked perfectly and she loved her Gnocchi Sorentino ... large portions for both of us. I would highly recommend this for those who want a great meal without the chaos or traffic of Atwells Avenue on Federal Hill.
We enjoyed our first visit to Spirito’s last Friday. The host and hostess were very understanding of our situation regarding the reservation time - we were picking up our son at the Providence Train Station.
On our arrival the table was ready for us. The Old World environment was very conducive to fine Italian dining. The server was very attentive yet gave us privacy. The food was superb. An excellent dining experience!
Stopped by for an early dinner on our way home from Logan airport. Was able to make reservation on Open Table so we knew there would be no wait. Food and atmosphere is always wonderful.
My husband loved his meal which was the Shrimp Scampi, I on the other hand was mislead by the wording of the plate that I ordered, I was disappointed, but would give it another chance. I thought the prices were a bit high for what you got.
Our server was new and really didn't come to our table all that much, but did tell the chef my complaint. I was not even offered a cookie or cup of coffee for the meal that I hardly ate.
I'm glad that I went there before I took guest from out of state, so that I could tell them to ask the server to explain the dishes. I should have gone with my first choice , which to the next table ordered, it looked so good.
Poor service and mediocre food. I don't understand all of the high ratings. The only nice part is the charming old Victorian in which it is located. Many better places to go on the Hill.
Spiritos is one of my favorite restaurants, a definite “go to” with out of town friends/relatives!
Great lobster special as always. Waitress was absolutely great. Outside seating very comfortable!!
Excellent food; large portions; great value. Staff is friendly. Great place to eat for different occasions!
Nice restaurant. Good Italian food, wait staff was nice and made food recommendations.
We went for restaurant week. The value would have been excellent if the service and food would have been better. The server seemed distracted. Salad came out quickly. Then we waited for much to long for our entrees. When they finally arrived, the server seemed confused about our orders. She snatched one plate back and walked away. Turns out that it was not what was ordered. But she didn't tell us that. Just snatched the plate and walked away. So we waited again. When we finally got to eat, the food was disappointing. I ordered veal sorrento. It was very bland.
We sat on the porch. It was a beautiful night. So sad that the rest was such a disappointment.
The waiter was amazing and the food was great. But thre were flies ...and i little bug ilkb the table
Food was excellent but service was very slow.
Always impeccable service with authentic Italian food perfectly prepared. When in doubt head to Spiritos. This family operated restaurant is one of Providence’s best Italian cuisine. Don’t miss out!
Restaurant is very pretty with beautiful woodwork throughout. Food was good. Waitress was very nice but clearly trying to cover too many tables. We were there during restaurant week, so they had a pre fixe menu. They offered 3desserts, and everyone at the table ordered spumoni. The waitress returned and said they were all out. It was 7 pm. As none of us wanted either of the other 2desserts, we asked to substitute off the regular menu. After checking with the manager, she said this wasn’t possible. This was a very disappointing way to end what had been a nice meal. The manager left a bitter taste in our mouths that makes it difficult to recommend this restaurant
Unique restaurant with delicious food! Exceptional service and perfect place for dinner without the hassle of parking on the hill!
First time here. Place seems massive due to high ceilings, various open rooms of the mansion. Great, old structure with very dated furniture and chintzy decor, BUT the food was fantastic. Calamari appetizer was light and fresh.
Solid, well made delicious Italian dishes. Our party of four each had a different entree. Each was made well and there was plenty of it. Most dishes come with soup or salad, so we were too full to try dessert. Next time!
Service was a touch slow, but we think that their custom is to wait until you are finished your course before presenting the next. Just tell the server to bring it out when it’s ready.
If you are into the old school vibe, and want a real Italian meal, this is it!
Father’s Day, always great food here and excellent service
Excellent food and even better service. We were sat timely and our server was very attentive, but not overbearing. Veal saltimbocca, chicken parmesan, Bolognese, chicken davinci, and sausage and rage were all fantastic.
We chose this restaurant for a Friday night meal on a quick trip to Providence and very much enjoyed dinner. Food was traditional red sauce Italian, which is what we were looking for, and service was excellent. Restaurant, which is big, was very quiet for a Friday night. It is a couple blocks off the main street in Federal Hill with its own parking lot. Well worth a visit.
Spirito’s was once again a fabulous experience. The food was excellent, the service was great and the environment was perfect for this celebration that brought 7 of us together. The owner, Greg is always there to be sure that you enjoy the experience and the quality of both the service and the food. They have outdoor seating which is perfect for this time of year.
we have never had a bad meal here! Great service and love the ambience! Our favorite go to for special occassions.
Great time and Erica is super sweet. Good food and we loved the ambiance.
The menu offered many fantastic selections. The food that we had was prepared very well and tasted delicious. Service was a bit slow, especially considering it was a slow night for them, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and each other's company so we didn't mind so much. A bit pricey for veal dishes, but nonetheless the food was very good.
We went on Mother’s Day at an off time. It wasn’t busy but it took the food almost 2 hours to come out. Menu is expensive and the food was meh...
I would not return...
It was good enough that I bought my friend a gift certificate for his birthday..
