The food was terrible poorly prepared tasted horrible
The food was good, but it was not worth the price. The restaurant was very noisy at times; I could hardly hear my wife when she was directly in front of me. My biggest gripe was that the restaurant itself was difficult to find. A well placed sign would be nice. All of that aside, the Mac and cheese was awesome. Definitely the best thing that I had there.
So we took our mom here for her 77th birthday... She took us when we were kids. The view was great, but the food was mediocre at best. The rolls tasted at least day old, the fish was good, but overpriced, the mashed potatoes tasted pre-made/packaged, veggies were ok. Way too overpriced & underwhelming. Then our waiter told us that it's going to be turned into a Cajun -Asian restaurant? Umm-k...
The location and food were great!! The service was below standard. He didn’t greet in any personalized way, he just asked “would you all like anything besides water”. I was a server years ago, and personally I know that is not a way to win a table over. Besides that, the presentation of the meal and dessert was amazing! Would recommend to my friends visiting Houston.
Is good for the experience, the food is average. Service was really good.
My Wife's 40th Birthday was a huge success. Our waiter Joe was phenomenal!!!
Everything was excellent!! Management extremely helpful.
It was my birthday so I wanted to do something romantic
With my husband. It was a Tuesday so it was empty. There was a loud couple around the corner and my
Husband sent his food back because half the plate was raw vegetables. A check off the bucket list, there are better places to eat.
Stick to stationary restaurants. Food was cold. Steak was cheap. Vegetables were microwaved. “Mashed potatoes” were microwaved. Best part was the view. Restaurant and staff were subpar (:
I would recommend this only as a "one-and-done" experience. The food was mediocre (not much flavor), the service was sub-par (the waitress and server seemed irritated to be there), and the bathrooms were inoperable (no one wants to drink much when they have to take the elevator ~30 floors down). I noticed at one point that another waiter was offering his customers items that weren't on the menu, but our waitress didn't do that. I would think that more professional and customer-friendly people would be employed in downtown. It was my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and it was their first time at Spindletop. I thought they would at least have some sort of small recognition by bringing a bite size dessert, but they received nothing. Small, inexpensive gestures go a long way, especially in having repeat customers and new ones through word-of-mouth. At one point, I requested our waitress to take a picture and asked if she was getting the food in it and she was probably joking in her response, but it came off as rude when she repeated the question to me and said, “You’re asking me if the food will be in the picture. Of course it will be.” I would coach the staff to just answer questions pleasantly and with a smile on their face, having in mind they’re fortunate to have a job. Therefore, I would recommend Spindletop for the atmosphere, but would warn people not to expect much from the food or service.
Food was fiyaaa, wish y’all had fire crackers for birthdays.
Great food, great vi
I made reservation for our 25th anniversary dinner, It was our first time and spent about $180.00. Wasn't happy with the environment, people were very loud it seemed like we were at McDonalds ..we were very uncomfortable. I thought we would have something special for us but it wasn't. customer service was poor.
Good romantic venue, service was a little lite never came by to refill the water. Food was extremely good. I had the lamb and my girl had the blackened red fish
Awesome service, awesome food, awesome views! I would highly recommend this place!
The personnel were wonderful! Great service, rack of lamb,
surf and turf and scallops were perfect. Our dessert was special for our Birthday Celebration.
My first experience and you guys didn’t disappoint. My wife was amazed by the ambiance and the fact of the main attraction “spinning whilst dining”. The service was exquisite. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming and also helpful to take some photos for us. As for the food, my lamb rack was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The Clam chowder was soup was mouthwatering. I’m glad I decided on it when I had initially declined getting a bowl of it for myself. Our server slightly forgot about my cocktail drink I ordered maybe because of how busy it was but he apologize and took charge of the drink. The overall experience was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back and also recommend to friends and family as I’ve already started doing. Thanks...
Spindletop was AMAZING! The food was excellent, the service was fabulous and the experience was unbelievable! I will highly recommend this experience to everybody I know.
The red fish was tasty. The sides were ok, but I think could’ve been better.
The young man who was our Host was SUPERVED & Mario our waiter both were outstanding and so cheerful. They knew it was my daughter 18th Birthday through my reservation, they both went above nd beyond to congratulated and gave her best wishes. She had a wonderful Birthday thanks in part to both of them.
Thank you both!
Everything was better than I expected. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. I already recommend everyone I work with to go.
Awesome restaurant with a very good view... I took my girlfriend there to celebrate her birthday and she enjoyed every part of it.
I will go there again when next I'm in Houston.
What a great experience! Amazing view and amazing food! I loved everything about my visit to Spindletop
Spindletop is a wonderful Houston dining gem. We enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner with great food, drink and first class service.
Beautiful experience with my love
Beautiful view, nice staff and great service. Looking forward to my return
Good food, cool atmosphere & great views. A little over priced though.
Everything was amazing! This is the first time I have ever eaten out and the food didnt require a little table salt or pepper.
It was my wedding anniversary, i did request the plate with writing happy anniversary and we have never get it, secondly the did order spindletop pot for 2 persons and it was very bad and super super spicy!
We got sick after we ate a little
And we did order Margarita Ice Cream Torte
After 10 min the servant came to tell us they ran out of the Margarita Ice Cream, and they have cheesecake so, we did order it.
Business dinner. Excellent spot and will be back. Fresh seafood yum!
Interesting facility for a tourist view of the city. Uncomfortable air conditioning blew down on my shoulder throughout the meal. The curved design let me hear the loud conversation of the couple two tables away. The menu had unique items which were more interesting that good. We won't be going back.
Very disappointing, went for our anniversary and was told to wait even though we had reservations and tables were available. Waiter poorly dressed and trained, food was nothing special and overprices. Great view and previous had a good reputation but it's obvious that this restaurant is poorly managed now.
Enjoyed our 5th wedding anniversary here overlooking the city!
This is the second time my husband I have visited Spindletop, and we were just as impressed the second time as we were the first (we gave a 5 out of 5 rating for our first visit). The food was amazing; the server was very informational and hospitable; the view was INCREDIBLE; overall, it was an outstanding experience. Thank you for the amazing dinner!!
Son’s 18th birthday.
Absolutely horrible!! I will never go go back nor spend money there.
It was ok didn’t like the changes in menu ...
Wonderful service. Food was a real disappointment. For the price you would expect 5 star menus. “Clam chowder” used a rue from Louisana and had few clams. Wine selection was very good. The rest of the abeyance was disappointing Steve
Loved the view! I like how the waiters are very nice & polite. Perfect place to take that special someone.
P.S Lobster Mac & cheese is a MUST try.
