Spindletop Ratings and Reviews
The view was fantastic. The server (Cesar) was not friendliest until he brought the bill, then he was extremely polite and friendly... I first asked him what were his favorite and he suggested the pasta. We had the Sea Food Pot and when the next guest were seated close by, I overheard him say, his favorite was seafood. In other words, he can't be trusted in his selections.
The environment had an amazing view of the city of Houston. The food was delicious. The staff was professional on every level . The chef personally greeted every guest after they enjoyed there meal . I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.
Our first dining experience with Spindletop and although it was a cold and foggy night limiting the gorgeous downtown views it is known for, the ambiance and service was outstanding. We didn’t even notice the views were limited. Truly outstanding menu selections and a nice variety of wine in cellar during our visit, including some of the award winning bottles from past Houston Rodeo Wine competitions. We will be back!
Upon arrival the host asked if it was a special day and yes it was our 6th anniversary. The service was amazing, the staff signed an anniversary card for us. The chef came out and thanked us and signed the card and we had a scoop of delicious ice cream to finish the experience off. Did I mention the view was incredible!
I really like the atmosphere. It was our anniversary AND we wanted to do something special. I had the shrimp and spicey ravoli which was tasty but i would ease up on the sauce (too much). My husband and the glazed grilled salmon. He liked it but said the rice wasn't cooked properly. None of those complaints would stop us from coming again.
Spindletop is a special experience. It is definitely pricey with the vegetarian entrees being $35 a plate, but the view and the service is exceptional. I think it would cost about $30 to just get to the viewing deck of skyscrapers for most big cities, so having food and a relaxing time there is worth the higher prices. The staff made the evening very special with rose petals, a card, taking pictures and a complimentary dessert all for my parents' anniversary.
Great views of Houston as the restaurant rotates. It takes 45 minutes to make a complete rotation. The view and ambiance make it worth it however, I have had better seafood. Dinner for 2 included a bottle of wine, an appetizer, 2 entrees and a shared dessert for a little over $200 including a 20% tip. Very romantic setting and that's what you're paying for as the food or at least what we had was just ok. Not bad but I expected better. For the price, judging food alone, there are better seafood options in town but I don't think you can beat the view.
Worst service I've ever had. My husband and I went there for dinner after our wedding ceremony. This is where we go every year for our anniversary. We decided to go there for our wedding night for dinner since it's our tradition. We had to ask someone to get our waitress for us for everything. I spoke with the manager who wouldn't give me the time of day, and could care less about what I was telling her. It was very unprofessional and disrespectful. We won't be returning again. The only plus was the incredible food. They really put a negative ending to our wedding night. We were extremely disappointed.
This was an amazing experience!! My wife and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. Ceaser was an amazing waiter and was very informative about the dishes and was very accommodating if there were any changes that needed to be made. The food was simply delicious. Every single course was very well prepared and did not disappoint in the slightest. Overall this is a great place for a special occasion and you will not leave unsatisfied
