Spindletop Ratings and Reviews
Great views of Houston as the restaurant rotates. It takes 45 minutes to make a complete rotation. The view and ambiance make it worth it however, I have had better seafood. Dinner for 2 included a bottle of wine, an appetizer, 2 entrees and a shared dessert for a little over $200 including a 20% tip. Very romantic setting and that's what you're paying for as the food or at least what we had was just ok. Not bad but I expected better. For the price, judging food alone, there are better seafood options in town but I don't think you can beat the view.
Worst service I've ever had. My husband and I went there for dinner after our wedding ceremony. This is where we go every year for our anniversary. We decided to go there for our wedding night for dinner since it's our tradition. We had to ask someone to get our waitress for us for everything. I spoke with the manager who wouldn't give me the time of day, and could care less about what I was telling her. It was very unprofessional and disrespectful. We won't be returning again. The only plus was the incredible food. They really put a negative ending to our wedding night. We were extremely disappointed.
This was an amazing experience!! My wife and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate. Ceaser was an amazing waiter and was very informative about the dishes and was very accommodating if there were any changes that needed to be made. The food was simply delicious. Every single course was very well prepared and did not disappoint in the slightest. Overall this is a great place for a special occasion and you will not leave unsatisfied
Hats off to the chefs and staff at Spindletop on Thanksgiving. I have to say the butternut squash and desserts were my favorite. Our waiter Christian was perfect. We were not rushed and as a couple with no family available for this holiday, they made our Thanksgiving dinner perfect. We will be back!
It was a little disappointing. The ambience, decor and views were absolutely beautiful! The food to my surprise was not visually appealing nor was it tasteful. Maybe, if try a different dish to give it a second chance.
This place to me is Good for drinks and tapas, great for a date as the setting and views are amazing.
Have high expectation, but quite disappointed after dining there. The view, ambience is great, however, the table setting looks kind of cheap. The food is just social, our halibut taste odd(not fresh), the host immediately apologized and replace another dish. Our waiter not one time come and asked if we ok or need anything else. The great ambience is a total waste.
View was pretty great. Place, food and ambiance was great too. Service was rather fair. We are from out of town and it would have been nice if the server actually said anything about the place or rather suggested something off the menu. The server did check on us after entrees were served. Though everyone seems to be on a rush even on a slow night.
I was not impressed with the staff. The host didn't pull the chair and seat my bride, the staff was noisy and generally appears unkept, the flatware wasn't switched out properly, always waiting for drinks, the padded window seal has stains and is filthy. My bride was still happy, but I was not... I kept it to myself not to ruin our evening.
Arrived at 6:15, and we seemed to be the first for dinner on a Tuesday. Reception was slow as the host spoke on the phone for several minutes before greeting and seating us. Our waitress, was great, friendly, fast and had good voice for a happy birthday song at the end. Food was very good and pretty well presented. Overall, enjoyable experience.
Our waitress Lois was great. The food was just ok. Ordered the seafood pot for 2 and the salmon. I understand it's not a restaurant for kids... but if you are going to have a kids meal... at least make it comparable to that of a menu of a 4 star restaurant... or a 4 star hotel.
The restaurant itself needs updating... tables\chairs looked old..
Celebrated my birthday there. Had 4 adults and 1 infant that required a high chair but I only made a reservation for 4 but they accommodated us. We brought our own cake/candle and cut it ourselves without being charged anything. I had the glazed salmon which was a good portion, my mother had the red snapper which was a good size as well. My husband had the steak filet but it was small lol he wasn't happy about his meal specially for the price ! My 10 yrs had a pizza with 2 side and it was good. My 19moths old ate off of our plates and we spend about $164 including $20 tip. I had an amazing birthday, loved the view and our waiter was great !
This restaurant is in dire need of a complete overhaul. The first thing one notices is the very 1980s to 1990s carpet and decor. All seats at my table were worn out. You sit and sink lower and lower in these old chairs.
The food was of staggeringly poor quality. We enjoyed a salad with brown lettuce and an appetizer served slightly above room temperture. The main course was adequate, but nothing special.
The waitress was pleasant and seemed like she was trying.
Overall, it is a horrible value. The view is nice, but the food and decor is of very sub-par quality.
The view is breath taking! Dimly lit, cozy, and quiet. Perfect for a date or special occasion. We went on the first day of the fall menu. The selection is small, but the food was good. The chef also personally introduced himself to everyone in the restaurant. We will definitely return!
