The experience is something to Treasure it was absolutely amazing and will be back wonderful food and service
Service was great. Portions were somewhat small. We went for restaurant week. Ambiance was nice and food was 4/5 stars.
The spinning takes a second to get used to, but the night view is amazing! We were lucky enough to dine during restaurant week and the food was very good. The one meal ordered, Red Snapper, that wasn't on the Restaurant Week menu was the most tasteless.
I have been to Spindletop before and had great memories of the food and experience. This time, the food was luke warm and did not live up to the quality that I expected.
Trout was all bread crumbs. Short ribs dry. Desert tasted like from a box. All whipped cream. Menu said ice cream came with no ice cream. Didn’t have brownie that was on menu waiter said had chocolate soufflé. Served a chocolate mousse after other desserts served .rolls were stale. Out of our wine selection on menu. Only the view worth going for.
The view was incredible, made going there worth it. If it wasn't for Houston Restaurant week we probably would've never gone. The wasn't worth paying full price. It was definitely something every houstonian should try to visit
First impression is everything, as human we feed off each other vibes and emotions... The female host who worked Saturday the 11th, was extremely dry and had the worst attitude. Not a single smile, didn't even bother to ask how was our evening going...small chat helps customers feel welcome. She completely upset a great night for us, not good at all.
Our waiter was OUTSTANDING, friendly, and extremely attentive!!!!
I didn't give it 5 stars because of their alcoholic options. With better bar options, it would be over the top for me.
Server- Lois was our server and exceptional. She has literally been there for decades and knows the menu very well. She really did contribute to the good time we had.
Parking - They validate valet parking!
Food - we started with the cheese plate which was $20 and could be split by four people. For our entree we ordered the seafood pot for two. It was too much for my husband and I. We couldn't finish it. It was super yummy with the flavorful broth. Lots of clams, mussels, fish, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, zucchini and two tiny lobster tails atop the pot. Sliced bread also comes with it too.
Great views of the city. Seafood Bake more like a bouillabaisse, a bit too much oil for me, kinda greasy.
Service and food was good, view was amazing!! We go every year for different special occasions.
Resturant week menu was great!
I have wanted to go this restaurant for a long time and I really wanted to love this restaurant. We made a reservation for HRW and it was not what we expected at all. He enjoyed the fruit gazpacho. My Caesar was mediocre. The dressing tasted like it was from a bottle. I ordered the fish and he ordered the braised ribs. My fish was super hot but the risotto underneath and the veggies were cold. The flavors in his dish were lovely but while the plate itself was hot, all of the food on it was cold. My dessert, the strawberry shortcake was almost flavorless. His, the tequila lime pie was delicious. The hostesses were very welcoming and our server, Lettie, was excellent. We never had to wait for a refill on anything. The views were incredible. We spent around $170 but it was really not worth it.
The quantity of the food and drink doesn't equal the amount of money I'm paying... if I order the spiced grilled chicken it should be enough to feed two for $38. The wine was half full not even half and it was $11 for a sip of wine
Had to ask for check 4 times, 3 different people. Finally someone other than my server got it for me. Waited at least 15 minutes after asking. The place was really half empty so I’m not sure why the service was so poor. The person who finally bought me the check was very nice though.
The ambience is nice, and the view is awesome. Valet’s were wonderful and wait staff was wonderful. Some food items we ordered were mediocre and others were really bad. My fish was not fresh and tasted extremely fishy. The dessert tart was okay, but the strawberry shortcake and the margarita pie were awful. We had not visited the restaurant for 20 years, and now remember why. It’s really a shame the quality of food is not better because the experience could be incredible.
The views are wonderous. Service could use a bit of an upgrade.
Lois was our waitress and we loved her! Everyone was so friendly and the food was amazing. Thanks Spindletop Houston!
Great place to take a special person and the service is outstanding.
Everything was perfect, from our food to the service. Will definitely be back soon. Our waiter was very considerate in manner. Loved it!
This was our 56th Anniversary ! We've been to Spindletop many times and we always enjoy it.....This is a place for a special treat !!!!
Perfectly adequate, but there are so many better places to eat in Houston.
Excellent food, great staff and the ambience creates the perfect date night atmosphere. Perfect view of downtown Houston, while you enjoy a wonderful meal and the finest cocktails in town.
Overall impressive dining experience. Food and drinks were awesome and the cheesecake is to die for. Having the chef to personally visit each table to ask about what all the customers thought about the food was great also. Definitely would recommend this restaurant anytime.
This was our first time to dine here and we were not disappointed. The view of the city is incredible, the service was first class.
The only thing tht was a bit of a let down, the wine selection. But overall we loved it
I was taking my son to his first concert. I decided to take him to fun a cool dining experience before. The filets that we had were so tender and delicious. We got to dessert. He had the strawberry cheesecake. He said, "It tastes like Christmas!"
The staff was so warm and inviting. They took excellent care of us. I forgot my card, and the manager brought it down to the lobby for me. I was so impressed with the service here. Even the young man doing valet was extra helpful.
The view is lovely. It was a great experience.
Very poorly run, asked to be seated at the revolving window , staff said no they were booked , half the seats were empty and when we left 2 hours later they were still empty.
Only went for the view and that is all its worth.
We had reservations @ 10PM, the restaurant also closed at 10PM. They told me I had 10 minutes to sit and order everything at once, appetizers main coarse and desert, and it probably would have came out at the same time. So we left and went to shake shack, I give them 5 stars for some good fast service and good food.
We were really excited about this restaurant's location and the novelty of rotating for a 360 degree view of downtown. Beyond that the experience was not at all what we expected. The salmon I ordered was good, but I can get the same dish for about half the price at other restaurants. The ravioli my wife ordered was barely stuffed and completely mediocre. We expected to be blown away by the food and instead we were disappointed. Dinner for 4 including an 18% tip was right at $400.00. We had 2 bottles of wine, 1 appetizer, 4 entrees and 2 deserts.
I got the biggest smile out of my girlfriend that I had gotten in quite a while! She loved the place!
Ambiance, view of the city and service were A+! Our server Lois was as nice as they come! The food was underwhelming (my filet was overcooked) and VERY over priced. I would return and would recommend this place to others as the rotating restaurant is very impressive and unique.
We always come here to celebrate our anniversary- food is delicious, service friendly and attentive, and you can’t beat the view.
It was our 14th year Anniversary..I had noted this on my reservation..this was our 6th time celebrating at the Spindle Top....we normally always get a window table
decorative table..this time we were greeted by MS Reagan telling us we couldn't sit in the lower section because they were saving those for a table of 4..that wasnt not true..we seem many couples after we were seated sitting at these at tables we were denied..Mario our waiter is the only reason for us to even consider coming back to Spindletop..the food was not the best for the price..my wife ordered the chicken which was burnt..dry..I ordered the Sea Bass which was very salty....the cheesecake was not blended well..
enjoyed the experience immensely, only thing is I accidently left my hat at the restaurant and no one claimed to have found it. bummer!!
The waitress was great. The food quality was horrible. Average hotel food at best. The people who think this place is great must not dine out much.
Great food and service! Perfect view. Would appreciate parking suggestions for those coming from out of town. Keep up the good work.
this place is amazing! Even though the kitchen specializes in Seafood they made a great steak.
Come here for the spinning restaurant and friendly staff, not the average tasting seafood.
Loved the food ordered surf and turf and it was great. The meat was juicy and tender and it had a great flavor to it. Also ordered the avocado dome great flavor, the only thing I did not like the chocolate drizzle they put on the plate. I ordered the cheesecake with the anniversary plate. The cheesecake felt a little lumpy not smooth and creamy and the flavor was not all that great. Definitely would recommend the restaurant to a friend just not the cheesecake.
Great service, excellent hostess, waitress, server and chef!
Sea Food MAC and cheese was awesome !! I would definitely go back just for that.
