I'm not a Fancy restaurant type of guy and made these reservations mostly because of my girlfriend, she has been wanting to go there for awhile now..So I abided, I was really impressed with my surf and turf and the other 3 courses we had for Valentine's..Food was delicious, Our server Mario was great and the experience itself was two thumbs up!..We will definitely be back to try the Open menu!
It was a amazing time the room was very nice the waitress was amazing and the people who work there was fun and made my wife day beautiful hope 2 see u next year
I think the experience was wonderful and that the day we choose to go on kind of limited our choices of things do to a set menu for valentine's day. Atmosphere and service was great.
The menu was set and unable to order what I wanted for a total of $270 for 2 people is flat out ridiculous. I over paid by at least $170 for that meal. Then having to pay a 20% gratuity topped it off.
The setting that night was perfect for couples the food on the other hand like the quail for the valentines special 3 course meal was subpar tasted too much like poultry . Dinnerware was not completely left out and our waitress kept forgetting information . The chicken as well was bland
Valentine's day dinner but they only had select items available. I just wish we had more options to pick from
The experience was absolutely wonderful. The view did not disappoint. The food was excellent. All except for the Quail salad, it was not very good.
It would have been perfect had it not been for the staff noise distraction. The cling-clang , loud talking around the service entrance, conversations that should have not been taking place there was distracting the ambience. I was also surprised kitchen staff were using the guest elevator entrance hauling up carts, pots and pans through the guest entrance and maitre d area and chattering to each other about food concerns. They also didn’t seem to break up their staff meeting when the doors first opened. Many of the staff just hanging around socializing as guests were arriving.
I think a bit more training is in order.
If it were not for that, I would have given 5 star.
Very cool place! The spinning took a little bit to get used too but it was amazing! Be careful with the drinking and the spinning... lol. Great place I would love to go again
The food was great and so were the drinks. Its way over priced for sure. And the charges on the bill are not clear! So confusing! There was a service fee that we didn't know what it was for and it was $40 which i thought was for the tip but then there is still an area for tip so very confused with the bill. Makes it impossible to know what you are paying for. $300 for a meal for 2 with 4 drinks was way too much!
Host/ Hostess's were pleasant, service was great, all wait staff was helpful/polite, and food was exceptional.
Very romantic!! Food and view were excellent!
Okay food not worth to spend this much money.. been to many rotating restaurants this one is just not comparable even most veiw is blocked by other buildings only clear veiw is of aquarium side so you can't say 365 degree veiw.. small conjusted rotation sitting. Food was not worth the taste of price . Servers are good
Theme is great. Service was not. Was there 2 hours and spent half that time just sitting waiting. Cut it short skipping dessert just to wait another hour for valet due to an event being held at hotel. Not impressed
The ambiance is really amazing, and the service was good. Those are the only two things that were good about this restaurant. The food was poor. The avacado dome was flavorless. And, to add insult to injury the valet lost my car, and I had to wait for over an hour until they could find it. I would only come to this restaurant for drinks, and I would take Uber.
This was my first time at Spindletop and it was a great one. Perfect for an intimate dinner.
The view is amazing the hostess was very friendly outgoing and very attentive. The location was perfect food was amazing and scenery was well worth the trip. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Chicken was dry, salad very dinky, desserts originally offered wereh't available. The food was a terrible disappointment. Tasted pre-packaged, pre-frozen, nothing special. Too bad for such a pretty location.
Overall the whole experience was top notch, from the valet opening the doors to host greeting you,the wait staff being attentive but not overly attentive, the experience was amazing and I appreciate that they made today a wonderful day for my wife and me!!!!
Great atmosphere and service! A very enjoyable evening with great food. Definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Overall, my visit to the Spindletop was very good. My wife and I celebrated her birthday there, and the atmosphere was beautiful.
It was our first time and it was an awesome experience.
I am really sorry to say that I am my wife were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The food was in general too simple and in one dish at least too salty. The quality of the meat and the cooking was very subpar relative to the reputation of the restaurant. Moreover, the service was slow, probably because each waiter had to take care of more than 10 tables at a time.
I celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday here. The ambiance was a plus but the menu selection was very limited. I wasn’t impressed with the food either. The seafood pot lacked good presentation skills. Server was good but lacked attention at times. It seems like they were overwhelmed but the restaurant wasn’t packed. Great views, but I expected better.
Great food an service. The best lamb shank in town!!! REALLY!!!!
Food was good and great value for money but service seriously sucks
Perfect for a date. It was an amazing experience. Definitely worth it!!
If you want to go to a place that's as good as the food this is the perfect place to go. The view is outstanding, the staff is smart and knowledgeable and respectful at why you came. You have a wide selection of seafood and the appetizers are group friendly (I think going straight to the entree/dessert/ drinks works better for when you go as a couple). The portion size is generous and its easy to split meals between two people.
Our server was attentive and very nice. The food tasted very good and the portions were a good size for the price. The appetizer was very small, so we were disappointed in that. Overall we enjoyed our dinning experience, there just wasn't anything outstanding about our experience.
I can not believe. A place so beautiful for such a privileged view and for such a bad meal, I am really disappointed. The price at first does not hesitate to pay for it since the restaurant is worth it, but the taste of the food leaves much to talk about, very incipient, without texture, without aroma, without a very unhappy taste. Very decorate regarding the food.
Service: Our waitress, Tracey, was awful. We were there for almost 2 hours, and saw her maybe 3 times. When we were first seated, she didn’t come around for at least 20 minutes - eventually one of the hosts walked by and saw we still didn’t have drinks and took our drink order. It took us almost 30 minutes to just get our check. Manuel was the only saving grace - he made sure we always had water, brought us bread, and cleared our plates.
Food: The elote soup and seafood macaroni and cheese were great appetizers. They have little variety of entrees (hope you like fish - they have 3 kinds). We ordered snapper and chicken, that were not very good. The sides were awful - soggy green beans, large hard beets and a green carrot. Dessert (tres leches cheesecake) was underwhelming.
Atmosphere: You’re 30 stories up and get a 360 degree view of Houston - what’s not to like?
Overall, we will not be back. I can spend $180 for 2 people at much nicer restaurants with better food and much better service.
Went to dinner for a special night with my wife, and Spindletop did not disappoint!
Spindletop was worth experiencing , would I go again maybe for a special occasion . Drinks were decent , nothing too special about Them . Food was also good portions were fair .
It was our first time dining here and we really enjoyed the food and the view was amazing . Our server was lovely and very helpful and made my husbands birthday special .
Needs a bigger beer selection. The prices were a bit on the high side, but you’re paying for the view
It was our anniversary and Tracy made us felt at home. The food was awesome and we had enough for our kids as well. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic and the view was amazing, and the best part is, the price was fair. I will definitely recommend Spindletop to anyone who wants a romantic night out.
Scenery was incredible. Cheesecake was delicious. Service was horrible. Slow slow slow and neglected.
Lois was very calming and an expert in maneuvering our way through the experience. She made an exciting night more controlled and better than I imagined. The venue itself was amazing because it revolved. The food was delicious. The guy that seated us was welcoming and attentive.
Amazing experience! Delicious food and beautiful view!
Overall pleased with my experience at the spindletop. Thanks
I came here with my fiancé for our two year anniversary. Overall this restaurant is a great experience but the food I feel doesn’t fit the high cost it’s sold at. My steak and her fish were over cooked. I asked for my steak medium and it was definitely well done. My chowder on the other hand I must admit was very delicious. I enjoyed the view, great experience , but the food aspect is not worth it in my opinion.
