Spigola Ristorante Vino e Cucina Ratings and Reviews
What can I say another fantastic meal at Spigola! The pork chop parm is fantastic. The red sauce is real good. The wife had the veal chop special and loved the sweet potato risotto. The scungilli app was amazing and always the wine was perfect. Service as always was impeccable and Nat and Mike are great hosts!
So disappointed!! We are foodies and go out to dinner on a regular basis. Since we were picking up my son at Hamilton Station we looked on open table for an upscale restaurant . Spigola seemed exactly what we were looking for. The best part of the meal was our server as she was so upbeat and enthusiastic. However after numerous apologies from her for the lengthy wait for our food, once arriving, my husbands gnocchi was cold. My Berkshire pork chop which our server highly recommend was so overcooked and tough . We didn't send anything back as we had been sitting there for an hour when our food finally came and we were tired at that point. Will not be returning or recommending.
Service was very attentive. Bread served with fresh roasted garlic was excellent. The eggplant rollatini appetizer was very good. However, the veal parm and rigatoni bolognese we ordered was just ok. The serving size was large but the taste was bland. Additionally the cake slices served for dessert were overpriced at $9. The cake was good but the size was similar to that you would give a baby in a high chair.
I don't mind paying for quality but the quality was just not there. While the entrees were large portions, I would have rather had a smaller portion of better quality.
Met up with some friends for a Sunday lunch. The selections were ample and varied. Two of us opted for the soft-shell crab special which was outstanding coming with 2 crabs on a bed of garlicky pasta. One had the rigatoni Bolognese that didn't skimp on the meat in the sauce. Another had salmon which was tasty. She was the only one who could finish her meal. All in all a lovely afternoon with lots of wines available by the glass.
This was our 4th visit to spigola. Would love to go more often but trying to lose weight. We had the clams casino and zucchini frites which it's one of my favorite but the clams were out of this world, good size, enough bacon and cheese. If you live clam casino please try then next time. Got the butterflied pork chop milanesas and came with arrugula salad, very good choice. Of course love the bread and roasted garlic. Thanks Luis for your excellent service. Of course will be back once I lose more pounds lol. Love your cuisine
What a wonderful find! I wanted to take my partner somewhere special for his 75th birthday, but I didn't know much about the area he lives in, so I turned to Open Table, and they did not disappoint! This restaurant was one my partner did not know, so we were taking a chance. The moment we entered this local restaurant, we could see that the atmosphere was both upscale and romantic. We were introduced to our server, Louis, at the door. He was very professional and friendly - overall, the service was wonderful. The menus - including the specials, the wine list, the mixed drinks, and the dinner menus - were extensive. Rarely able to finish whole dinners, we shared the eggplant rollatini appetizer, which was delicious. My partner chose the veal francese, and I had the shrimp scampi. We were both very pleased with our choices. We usually don't order dessert, but, for this occasion, we shared a tiramisu (with a candle in it, of course!). Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. We were still talking about our wonderful evening the next night with friends who live in the area and can't wait to try Spignola.
Back to back Saturdays! Food was great! They made me a veal chop parm it was out of this world. Wife enjoyed the tuna special. The scungilli app was fantastic. A great bottle of Barolo and a super cold martini made the meal even better. This place is great.
Once again Spigola makes Saturday night special. The meal was excellent and the service is always perfect. The meatballs are great and so was the flat bread. We like the pasta special very much as well as the fish special. The Amarone should of been my first choice it was splendid! Thanks for another fantastic evening.
I was warmly greeted at the door when I arrived by the hostess. While waiting for my date I headed over to the bar for a cocktail. Aimee and her bar staff were extremely friendly and tentative to their patrons. The bar was very clean and my martini was delicious and poured perfectly!
Our waiter was pleasant and very knowledgeable of the menu and specials. We had the octopus and fried calamari appetizers which were both delicious and the filet mignon and broccoli rabe for dinner. The steaks were cooked just the way we ordered and the meal was mouthwatering good! Great wine list too, I highly recommend!
After a first bad experience I gave the place a second chance, and it was HORRIBLE.
After an hour wait without even our drinks reaching the table, the owner/manager interrupted our lovely waitress taking (finally) our order and took her away.
As my friend pointed out that we were in the middle of a very late order, he literally told her to "calm down and relax" touching her in the most condescending way.
We stood up and left the place in the spot.
As we walked out, instead of being sorry, the same manager was trying to justify his attitude.
The decent but overpriced food is not worth coping with such management.
Husband had sea bass special - grit in the vegetables
I had eggplant rolatini dinner - delicious, but I would have preferred fewer rolatini , the addition of some veggies, and the pasta on the same plate. Plating was more diner-ish and not what you expect for fine dining
