SPIGA Ristorante Italiano Ratings and Reviews
Had very nice meal. Sat outside, started to rain hard but sporadically midway through meal. Staff were very quick to drop plastic guards to protect us from rain, allowing us to stay outside. Grouper special was excellent. Too full to try dessert. Decent though not extensive choice of wines by glass. Service was outstanding.
A return visit which didn't disappoint. Good service and delightful food. We ate on the lovely front porch. A heavy downpour didn't impact our experience in the least. Staff were quick to respond to the sudden change in weather, putting storm blinds in place even before the rain began. Very impressive. Delicious Antipasto Misto (a plate for one easily served two of us), and Crab and Shrimp Ravioli were highlights. And the Focaccia is simply to die for. Highly recommended.
Dommage. Ce n'est pas professionnel. ...
We came here due to the high reviews here on Trip Advisor. Major disappointment that did not come close to the $110 for two that we paid. I don't mind paying a high fee for a meal and have paid well over $200 just for the two of us, so long as it's worth it. Spiga is not one of those restaurants.
It started out decent with a pretty good Caprese salad and the Luna salad which featured arugula pears and tomatoes. The main courses however, bland is the only way to describe them. Especially my main course, a 'special' featuring eggplants, tomatoes and smoked ricotta. I've never had smoked ricotta so naturally I wanted to try something different. There was absolutely no smokiness to the cheese at all. It was just shredded ricotta. My entire dish was just bland, devoid of really much in the way of flavor. It was obvious the pasta was fresh, but the sauce, eggplant and the entire dish, just bland.
My wife got a pasta with portabella mushrooms and that was better, but that doesn't say a whole lot.
I expect to pay more when I visit Miami Beach, but I also expect to get a good meal. There are AMAZING Italian restaurants in South Beach and I've reviewed a few here. This is not one of those places, spend your money elsewhere that has really good food. So disappointed.
Stop. Do not waste your time or money
1. Nothing special decor, staff
2. Meat market greeting from street
3. Boring menu with $5.00 extra for a vegetable with all entrees
4. $3 extra to split a salad in the kitchen
5. Dont know how good food is will not waste my time, energy or money on a joint like this
Why should you?
Just delightful, the food was next to perfect, shame we were not that hungry but were provided with a take out box.
Service was brilliant and the recommended wine just right for us though maybe a bit heavy for our meal.
Overall strongly recommended, would definitely go back
I will never regret coming here for after theater and PreBirthday dinner. I hope to return many times. Superb! Small romantic, authentic cuisine, nice, quiet, modern old flair, casual elegant but still with its white tablecloths and perfect refined atmosphere yet without braking your wallet. Highly highly recommend.
One block off of the very noisy South Beach Ocean Drive and a real "find"! Excellent food, small but not crowded restaurant with both inside and outside dining. Absolutely wonderful Italian food: fish was fresh and superbly prepared and the freshly made pasta was outstanding!
The fettuccine with salmon was excellent, really well done pasta and a delicious sauce. Service was on point, and everyone was very nice to a single diner. The melon for the prosciutto and melon could have been a smidgeon more ripe, but that's really quibbling.
It was our second time here. My wife and I had a quick getaway to Miami and remembered Spiga from a trip with our kids a few yrs ago. Food and service was excellent again! My wife had carbonara which was unbelievable and signature seafood risotto which was also top notch! Definite keeper!
Great quaint atmosphere. Nice wine bar inside, good indoor and outdoor seating, probably not more than 20 tables, so not a huge place. Everyone was promt and attentive, our waiter was very French feeling... Almost rude and uncaring. But friendly, but still attentive. Their bread is excellent for appetizer but the oil it comes with was bland. Asked for some balsamic vinegar and all was better. Grilled octopus appetizer was extremely tasty, they grilled it to perfection. Crab ravioli was a little fishy tasting and Salty for me, but the texture was excellent. Carbonara pasta wax actually dry. We mixed the creamy sauce of the ravioli with the Carbonara and had an actually had a great mix. On their own, meals weren't perfect, but overall a nice meal and experience. House chardonnay wine was reasonably priced and very good. Go if you want a quaint meal to tuck in, maybe not if you're interested in impressing friends from out of town
Small, elegant, romantic, classic Italian restaurant in the heart of South Beach with style, outstanding food and service, and an impressive wine list featuring Italian wines. Their pasta is made daily and is simply outstanding. They serve wine but no mixed drinks. A gem.
The bruscetta was just ok. Not well toasted.
Ravioli with arugula ricotta butter sage sauce was solid. Being picky, the butter was not browned. It was just ravioli swimming in a sea of melted butter. The whole point of the sauce is to bring out the nutty taste of brown butter
My go to place with great healthy and always fresh and tasty Italian. The Caeser Salad is the BEST in the world. Also, Delicious Chicken with asparagus, Pork Chop, and Veal dishes. Simply the nicest casual yet elegant Italian in Miami Beach hands down. There's a reason it has been here for more than Twenty Years!
Spiga was billed on line as the best Italian around South Miami Beach. The food is decent but not fabulous. In fairness it's not top, top $ with prices but portions were small all round.....carpaccio, calamari, pork chop. Had a decent Malbec for about $65. All up OK but not great.
Waited 45 minutes for 3 pasta dishes to come out after appetizers. Waiter did not come by to apologize until I called him over asking about the food, and he never offered a glass of wine or anything for the delay. It ruined what should have been a great meal because the food was very good. Owner came by and when I told him what happened he was gracious and apologetic and did all the right things, that's why I would return here and hope we didn't get the same terrible waiter. Automatic service charges keep Miami from being a serious top of the line restaurant experience too often.
