Spice Xing is consistently warm and friendly with excellent dinner options for a variety of tastes. The friendly wait staff show the perfect blend of helpfulness but not overbearing. Our personal favorite drink is the mango lassi, which pairs deliciously with the spicy chicken. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Nicely varied Indian menu, with choices to suit all palates. We went on a weekday evening, and we were surprised to discover that the restaurant was virtually empty. In all the time we were there, only one other party came in to dine, so the high reviews about ambiance and noise level may not be operative when the restaurant is busier. Prices seemed a bit on the high side for what was furnished, though not so high that we wouldn't choose to return.
Food was quite delicious.
Authentic Indian food in a relaxed casual atmosphere. The service was excellent, the food was spicy but delicious.
The food was very good and very consistent with previous visits.
This is a special find! We love all Indian Food choices and the ambiance here is unique and special. You can have a conversation easily, yet it is a "hot spot". The décor is comfortable, elegant and always calls for comment by new people we bring here. It is a beautiful setting~!
We had three vegans with us, and they had lots of options and enjoyed their dinners immensely! Tried a "new to me" Indian dish of Lamb with beet and pomegranate juice, Khandari Lamb. VERY DELICIOUS and beautifully presented.
We had to make a 7pm movie and the wait staff was very accommodating for us.
Looking forward to going back soon!
Restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. we had been quite awhile ago and remembered the food as being good but this time, the food was just fair. The sauces with the dishes seemed watered down and the chicken pieces were not of good quality. Not sure we will be back.
Ambiance was good, choices of food and service were great. The food display was like fine cuisine restaurants. The food was cooked in authentic Indian spices. This is my 3-4th time in the restaurant in the last 2 years and I noticed that the quality of the food has declined. Last night I felt that food was undercooked and microwaved. The chicken was cut in large pieces unlike traditional Indian cuisine were chiken breast is diced. We all had stomach upset the next day! I highly recommend the owner to fix the restaurant kitchen ASAP as this is one of the few remaining fine cuisine Indian restaurant in Montgomery county Maryland.
Great place for Indian food. Staff was attentive, but not pushy. We were there for over two hours, never felt rushed. Flavors were wonderful. Heat adjusted for the local pallet.
Our first trip to Spice Xing, convenient in downtown Rockville. We felt it was very authentic in terms of the food preparation, but we are no experts. Everything was delicious. We both liked our dishes very much. The atmosphere is casual, plenty of larger tables and strollers.
I don't agree that customers need to pay extra for the staple Indian food like Naan
We love this restaurant. The food is excellent as is the service. And the prices are moderate. We have taken relatives and friends there.
We will definitely continue to come!
Very nice restaurant and ambiance, tasty food. Went because of happy hour sign outside, but no one explained that happy hour deals were only at the bar. We eventually moved to the bar, but only after ordering beer that was not eligible for happy hour pricing. Would be good if staff asked and explained the options before seating. Nice place, reasonable and good food -- so I plan to return.
We ate dinner at SpiceXing to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We always look forward to dinning at this restaurant and enjoy their take on Indian food.
We absolsutely love this place! Food & service is always great!
Keep up the good work.
Spice Xing never fails to exceed expectations. The food is just so delicately prepared. Every item is unique and none of the over-greasy, over-spiced Indian food that most Indian restaurants ply. The service is great. The small plates are fantastic.
The service was friendly, efficient and very polite and attentive. The food was of an excellent quality, fresh and very tasty. A good selection of vegetarian dishes. The Okra was very nicely cooked. The naan and dips were great.
Reastaurant was very accomodating to my food allergies--ginger and doy. Food was delicious and service excellent
We really enjoyed this Indian Restaurant....Great find in Rockville town center. It is a little remote but close to C parking. The food was great and the service even better. They also have a great drink selection. If you like Indian food, this is definitely a restaurant to try.
We had a nice dinner. Two appetizers, a main course and naan. Everything was delicious. The service was good, and in this restaurant you can actually talk. The acoustics are good. Highly recommend Spice Xing.
A gem of a restaurant in Rockville. Can't get better for Indian within 10 miles.
It is a shame spice xing is not attracting the crowds of diners it deserves. An interesting and varied menu, not just the standard Indian dishes, expertly prepared. The service is gracious and attentive. A strong endorsement!
The food is excellent and authentic Indian "home cooked food". The place is spacious which helps maintain privacy. Very relaxed atmosphere and ample parking even on the weekend.
Had a delicious meal here! Price was a little high for the portion size, but no other complaints. They called to warn us about a private party coming in and offered to move up our reservation time. Very thoughtful! We'll be back, especially for the dosa!!
WE like Spice Xing ---We were there early (7) on New Years Eve --The food and service were excellent --The french slyle scallops were geat ---Only problem we had was the ambiance of the restaurant ---The lights were quite bright and there was just not a good feel to the restaurant . We will certainly return and hope , since it will not be New Years Eve ,it has a better feel to it --
The service was very attentive and efficient. We split paneer makini and garlic naan. It was plenty for the two of us (we are light eaters). The server brought us two plates with the sides split for us. Very nice service! The food had excellent flavor although it could have been a little spicier for me (I like my Indian food spicy). The atmosphere was lovely and romantic. Highly recommended!
The restaurant is roomy and the noise level was low, making this restaurant a great place to enjoy a conversation over dinner. The food and service were very good.
My wife and I were looking for Indian cuisine before a musical program nearby and were expecting the usual Indian menu. Instead we experienced a lovely appetizer and two dishes we had not tried before. The level of spice and heat was just right. This is a good Indian chef that is going beyond the stereotypical menu. The atmosphere was clean and modern but not all that "cozy" - with a little effort they could add some "romance" to the feel of the place.
Delicious! If you like butter chicken, ask for it. It's not on the menu and it is outstanding.
What a disappointment!! Never would go back as this doesn't come close to its sister restaurant Passage to India. We arrived at 1835 hours and no one came to say anything, like 'would like something to drink?' until 1850 hours!!! We ordered and ordered Kulcha....we waited for our meal and assumed the bread would come out first. Didn't happen until my wife got the attention of whom we assume was the manager and asked if we could get our bread.. We waited until 1920 hours for our main course and actually the food was delicious. However, the service was beyond terrible.....not diner-friendly!!!
Spice Xing was very good in all respects. We are picky about Indian food and the food was definitely above-average. Very nice ambiance. We were there on a Friday night and surprised it was not more crowded, but it was nice and quiet. I suspect it would be noisier if full. The service was excellent as well.
Spice xing is my favorite place in the Rockville town square. Good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere. Try the tamarind margarita. Outstanding. The food is very good and quite the variety. Something for everyone, my vegan daughter loves the eggplant pyramid, I love the lamb dish choices and the naan is very good. Fun place to have a good meal.
We were enjoying the delicious food that had just come out when the fire alarm went off. It went off for about 10 minutes. We had to leave and go outside . My daughter has a broken leg and is on crutches. It was very difficult for her to get up and hurry outside. When We came back in,no one in the restaurant came over to check on us- not to offer to heat the food up or even apologize to my daughter . I was disappointed in the management for that. If Our meal wasn't interrupted the experience would have even been better.
There are several $9.95 luncheon specials, one of them lamb vindaloo. Not only was it a very good value, but it was very flavorful. Unfortunately, the wines by the glass are coarse and not a good value at $8.00. Consideration should be given to offering better wines at $9.00 a glass--something that several other area restaurants do. The ambiance is unappealing, but the service is friendly.
Nice post-movie dinner, Great selection of appetizers!
Very nice Indian food.
The egg plant was great.
Salmon a little bland for my taste but well done.
Real Indian bread.
One ofthebetterIndian restaurant inourarea.
The food is absolutely delicious! My family has been coming here for years. The service is always wonderful and the ambiance is just perfect!
Very attentive service, good food, decent prices. My only complaints would be that it was a bit hot inside the restaurant for my comfort and it was a little pricey.
Best Indian in Rockville and northern Montgomery County
Wonderful place. Best Indian in Rockville for sure and a very nice and knowledgeable staff.
