The service is great. Dumplings and salad superb. The curry dish I had was good however, the shrimp were over cooked and seemed not to be prepared freshly. But otherwise a good dish. I had better.

We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at Spice. The menu provided a good selection of Thai appetizers, salads, and main dishes. Portions were generous and the dishes were nicely presented. Food quality was good. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely return!

We arrived for our reservation during the pouring rain, so all that outdoor seating was out of the question. The hostess managed to seat the four of us indoors within 10 minutes. Friendly waiter came over. Everything continued on as it should until the waiter brought 2 of 4 appetizers. When we flagged him down he brought one more. During dinner we told him we never got the 4th, so forget it because dinner had arrived. He then brought it over.. Friendly people, but not sure I would return. Or maybe just takeout.

All 4 of us had great dinners. My crispy chicken really was wonderfully crispy, with nice seasoning, accompanied by rice that was almost like pad thai (egg, nuts, very nice curry spicing). Highly recommended.

Food was decent, well priced. But did not like that they included tip without informing us. ... And then the tab prompted us to tip again on the bigger total.

Spice is known for its really good food and great drinks, and I must say it does not disappoint. All the Spice locations have never disappointed in any of these departments and this one is no exception. The staff is also friendly as well and I recommend the Hawaiian ginger and pineapple shrimp, along with any of the noodle dishes...delicious!

I love this place. Usually go to the Chelsea location (22/8) but as someone who lives in the UWS, I decided to stay in my neighborhood.
The duck salad and the green curry chicken are my favorite. My friend and I shared a delish chocolate cake topped with green tea ice cream ... AMAZING!
Spice never disappoints!!!

This was my second time eating at Spice. My first time was at the Union Square location. Night and day between the two. The ambiance and the food were way better than the Upper West Side location. Our waitress must of been new because she could not answer any question that we had.

Spice is a nice place but a bit cramped. It's hard to get out of you're sitting at a booth. Also I'm not sure what happened in the kitchen but k had ordered a pad Thai and ask with no peanuts. Thank goodness I'm not allergic to it because there was peanuts in my food. I was half way done by the time I noticed so I didn't say anything but for those that are allergic to peanuts make sure you there aren't any before you eat.

Not my first time at a Spice restaurant, but first time at this one. Really friendly staff, attentive but not overly so. The food was perfectly seasoned. Place was a bit noisy; hard to catch up in conversation with old friends from out of town, but not obnoxiously so.

I liked it a lot.

We showed up about 8:05 for our 8:00 reservation and had to wait until 8:30 for seating, with no apology beyond a sheepish look. The food was reliably good as always, but this place always runs to the cramped, and the noise level has gotten worse than ever.

Spice is a completely unpretentious, bare wood table, small restaurant, serving great Thai food. Nothing fancy, but with modest prices appropriate to the setting. Service is excellent, and if you want a place to grab a quick bite of great Thai food with no pretense at a very reasonable cost, this is it.

Made reservation with open table and they only had a small reservation list that was handwritten and didn't have my name on it. Not sure if I'll get credit even after I spoke to two people.

Food was very good and reasonably priced, especially in that neighborhood. Service was quick and overall I was very happy with everything except getting our table. We were lucky they still had space.

Great food, portions could be a pinch larger. Also, hostess should not be continually taking delivery orders when customers are waiting to check in with their reservation. Otherwise very enjoyable.

We were four adults and one infant dining on a Saturday night. Our waiter took 15 minutes to take our order and our food took well over 30 minutes to arrive. Thereafter, one of the main dishes was completely the wrong dish and the waiter did not even offer to take it back and correct the problem. In fact, he merely said, oops. And left the dish on the table. We had to call back a manager, who then said that it would take another 30 minutes for the correct dish to be prepared. He did not offer any sort of refund or alternative solution. My friend kept the dish, was dissatisfied and ate a minimal amount of the plate. The manager did not offer a refund and charged us for the dish. Furthermore, they automatically added an 18% gratuity to the tab! We complained once again about this and they reluctantly removed the automated gratuity.
We are normally a very easy-going group, and we give the benefit of the doubt, but this was all too much. I spoke with the manager and told him we would not be leaving a tip and that we would be leaving a terrible review.

The restaurant is VERY small - no more than 12 tables I would say - but the food and the service were excellent. I had the Spice crispy duck and it was great. I will definitely order in from them in the future as the space is a bit cramped.

Great thai food experience. I had the Geyser noodles in a clay pot and with the pictures on the wall I felt like I was in Bankok. The food is better than the service. It's a great spot on the corner, I also like the Chelsea location.

'Had dinner for 2 couples early on a Saturday eve. First time at Spice, and upon entry it seemed more casual than expected, but once the dishes started coming it could not have mattered less--each one was absolutely delicious. "Spice" produced some of the best Thai any of us had ever had.
We enjoyed a table full of appetizers followed by individual main dishes. One of our group had a fun martini an enjoyed it a lot, while the rest of us enjoyed green tea. The service was excellent throughout. Fully satiated and content, we were even more delighted when the very reasonable bill arrived.
It was a most enjoyable meal, and we all agreed that we will gladly return to one of the restaurant's locations.

Here for lunch, the food very authentic and freshly prepared. Tom Yum Seafood soup was excellent. Chicken had smaller cashew nuts than I would have preferred but it tasted delicious. Next time I will try the green curry dishes. Highly recommended!!!

This was our second time in this restaurant. Although the food was actually good, the service was non-existent, as the waiters pass by and do not look at you. The food arrived one dish at a time, and since we were a party of 5 people, it took them about 10 minutes between the time that the first person was served till the last person was served, so we could not eat together.

Also, be aware of the potential for double tipping - our check included 18% gratuity (for the poor service), but when we received the credit card slip to sign, there was a space for a tip, and a list of recommended tips of between 18% to 30%!. If one doesn't pay attention, you may leave another tip on top of their 18% gratuity. For us, it's the 2nd and last visit to this restaurant.

Had a lovely experience at Spice Union Sq...the ambience and food was very good. Was expecting the same here, considering we were taking relatives out from out of town. Food was just okay and it felt like I was in Chinatown because of decor and style of the restaurant. I had expected this one to be same or very similar to the UQ spice.

Overall the food was okay but we have eaten in several NYC Thai restaurants that are better. The daily special shrimp appetizer was very good. But the pad thai was very average and the suki seasoning seemed a little off (maybe just to our taste).

With a dearth of good Thai on the UWS, Spice fills an important niche: inexpensive Thai cooking that is as good in the restaurant as it is delivered. The appetizers are a bit frail and sometimes the buns and dumplings are more dough than ingredients - NB: if you're going to be so miserly about shrimp, pork or chicken mixtures of meat inside the dumpling or bun, for goodness sake, don't bother putting them on the menu in the first place! Stick with the main courses which are filling, well-spiced, and delicious.

Although I knew it was unnecessary, I had made a lunch reservation for 2. Upon arrival, the restaurant was empty but we were shuttled to a small table for 2. The next person to arrive (solo walk-in) was given a table for 4. In general, the hostess/waitress seemed not to care about the customers.

The bill of fare was fine, but the staff seemed annoyed by any request from my guest (i.e., a bit more sauce, more rice).

In a neighborhood with as much competition as this one, this is unacceptable.

And a Thai restaurant without Pad Se Ew??
