Spice Symphony – 50th St. Ratings and Reviews
The food was very tasty, service was fast, staff was polite and on our departure were very eager to give us some hints on how to spend our time in New York which was nice.
We really like the chiken tikka masala, springrolls, baby eggplant in a spicy coconut peanut sauce.
Wanted Chinese food for Xmas dinner. Spice Symphony provided Indian/Chinese food of high quality when we couldn't get a reservations in NYC OR Brooklyn Chinatown before 10 pm on Xmas Day.
Lovely ambiance, attentive service, interesting, tasty food at a midtown location at a fair price....and we could hear each other talk at a table for four....very happy with the experience.
Great food and great service! We went on a very busy Saturday night so despite making a reservation, we had almost an hour wait to be seated BUT the food and experience were well worth the wait. The staff was very courteous and the food was fantastic-great value! Would definitely recommend for authentic Indian food as well as Indo-Chinese fusion
Service was not great. Had to ask for menus after being seated. Took more than half hour to get the drinks after ordering. Other people who came after us got seated before us. We had a reservation at 7pm. We got their a at 650pm and did not get seated until 720pm. After getting seated we watched other people get their food and leave before we even got our food.
An attractive, modern decor and attentive professional service were the hallmarks of our recent visit to Spice Symphony for a birthday celebration. At first we were a little concerned that we were running late but a quick phone call to the restaurant allayed our fears and we were greeted most graciously upon our somewhat late arrival. Although the wait staff was initially a little slow to take our drink orders, once we got past that, our dinner proceeded at a very nice pace, neither rushed nor too slow. Plenty of menu choices allowed my entire family to easily find dishes that suited their tastes. The only negative was the lack of a spice level indicator which led my wife to order a dish that she found a bit too spicy, although not so much that she could not enjoy it. Portions were generous and we had leftovers from 3 of our 4 entrees which we took home and the restaurant was gracious enough to add in an extra serving of rice gratis with our leftovers. The only downside were the desserts, we tried the kulfi and kheer which were somewhat lackluster and the masala tea lacked the spice that I had hoped for. Overall, I would strongly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for Indian food in the Midtown East area of NYC.
Very unprofessional treatment by the management. Lunch menus are not honored. It is a rip off to go there and get trapped by the surprise forcing you to choose from A la carte menu. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone and will probably never go there again.
Really enjoyed our visit to Spice Symphony tonight. Wish we were in town longer so we could go back. The food is top notch and the prices very fair for the quality and portions. What really is a standout at this restaurant is the warm hospitality and very professional and attentive service, something that is hard to find in the touristy area of the city. From the moment that we arrived and the hostess helped us unbundle from our winter clothes , till we left after our sumptuous meal and the management and staff bid us farewell and profusely thanked us for our business, we were blown away and felt really appreciated. And it's not because the place isn't doing any business....it's rocking! And for good reasons too. You don't get this kind of really satisfying dining experience too often. Give them a try...if you appreciate really good Indian cuisine you won't be disappointed
The owners, especially Jude, worked very hard to insure that everyone has an excellent experience. We were late because of traffic and he work us in very quickly.
The Food was over the top. We had a good wine and pleasant conversation with one of our neighbors.
The food was beyond expectations.
Delicious. Fresh. I continue to think about it, it was so good! Ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer. The basmati rice was flavorful and delicious, and while I am gluten free my friend ordered the garlic naan and loved it.
The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive to both myself and my guest.
We will definitely go back.
The food was very good, but not quite as "exceptional" as I was expecting for a restaurant ranked # 16 in all of NYC by Trip Advisor.
Service was attentive but aloof...
My overall rating was based primarily on the quality of the food (and drinks).
I'd go back, but there are many other places that I would try first.
Spice Symphony was an amazing experience for a date night. The food was very authentic Indian cuisine. I would definitely recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Tandoori. The waiters were very attentive and catered to whatever you needed, i.e. had something made for us when it wasn't on the menu. The environment of the restaurant was subtle and romantic, which gave a very relaxed vibe. I would recommend this place over and over again to anyone who is in the mood for authentic Indian food.
