The varied menu consists of much-loved traditional Indian pot dishes, such as Bhuna and Jalfrezi as well as an impressive selection of modern and creative dishes to tantalise your taste buds and expand your knowledge of all things Indian.

Minimum two person; Tandoori Fresh Ocean Tiger Prawn king Scallop in herb sauce
Black Pepper Chicken Tikka
Rich pepper marinating
Chicken or Lamb; mild curry, thick coconut gravy with a smooth texture
Well spaced tables and bright area to sit in. Food was very good would highly recommend the starters and will certainly have a larger selection next time.
Great service and wonderfully inventive menu. We had a stellar evening
My husband and i had a wonderful anniversary lunch at spice merchant. The food was delicious especially the salmon tikka, and the staff were friendly as always.
Loved their Indian food and wait staff was very friendly. Will come back!
Not really fair to judge the restaurant by the experience of eating in a draughty and at times shaking temporary structure.
Food was very good but I felt quite pricey.
Probably would be a better experience when things get back to normal.
We were told within 20 mins of arriving at that we need to order by 2:30 (having arrived at 2pm) as the staff leave - questioned why we were allowed to book for 2pm.
Asked for bottle of Prosecco to celebrate what was my mother’s birthday. Told after a search that they were completely out as they had a wedding event the night before - closest thing was then a £50+ bottle of champagne mix
Made clear orders for drinks but they were wrong.
Bot a grey outside ambiance with a rickety marquee which had been put.
Wine delayed to the table until midway through meal as the waiter was seeing off another couple who’d finished their meal.
Only thing that saved things was that the food was actually very good.
I’d not go back until they are fully open and able to cater for their guests in the right way.
Really lovely restaurant. The team were incredibly friendly and there was some great banter! The food was excellent. They managed to accommodate, us even though it was busy and at short notice. Well done!
I was made to feel as the restaurant was doing ME a favour for dining outside!
Lovely evening, staff were friendly and food was very nice
Great food always nice outdoor area super friendly staff
Luckily i read other’s reviews before i went so i knew what to look out for! £20 worth of drinks were added to the bill even though we didnt order them as well as a starter we didnt order but managed to get that off after a little bit of back and forth with the manager. Also were rushed to order when we said we werent ready we were kind of told to just order now as the waiter hovered around. Then we were waiting for everyone to receive their meal we were told to eat now by the waiter which i thought was strange but not sure if it was with rude intention. Overall i wouldnt go again and prices are much higher for standard indian food. Not worth the stress and hassle.
Lovely garden with patio heaters making outdoor dining possible. As always great food and service.
Really delicious food, beautiful scenery in the garden. Service was very good, attentive and polite. I will definitely be returning.
Tough bits in the monk fish dish and disappointing lollipop chicken. A shame you don’t do a smaller plate for a child as well as it’s very expensive to buy a full meal for a child
First time visiting spice merchant in beaconsfield and the food was incredible. The staff were very friendly and polite.
Covid measures were in place.
First meal out since lockdown restrictions eased, sadly it was just a average meal out. The weather was too cold for outdoor dining and the restaurant did not have enough outdoor heaters which is a big shame as they should cater for this given we can only dine outside socially at the moment. I was also disappointed that our serving plates were dirty and had to point this out twice.
Enjoyable lunch in the restaurant garden. Vegetables cooked beautifully, not over cooked
Lovely garden setting with heaters, though still needed coats (it was a really cold evening). Very attentive and professional service, delicious food, definitely a cut above. Prices to match the higher quality, but worth it for a treat.
Amazing experience - I am already looking at going back! Food and service was 10/10. Thank you for a lovely evening
This is the second time that restaurant have been awful about my food intolerance. It took over 30 mins in the bitter cold to get a decent meal selection offer from the kitchen and a further age to get it brought over and even then, some was great and some was pretty average...
The weather is not their fault but they did little to help. Their heaters provide very little heat so it was utterly freezing. Why they weren’t offering the covered area that was there and complied with all Covid rules I’ll never know. We virtually sat on the heater and it provided little or no heat. A warning message would have been welcomed.
And all this for a whopping price tag for the little we ordered... Would not recommend, i though the very average offer during “eat out to help out” was an anomaly. I won’’t be returning. They’ve fallen a long way since pre-pandemic standards of service, food and offer.
Food was very good, as was the service. Very friendly and welcoming vibe. Acoustics are not amazing when the restaurant is full.
We have eaten here on a number of occasions and always left with the same impression, outstanding.
Had a fabulous evening, lovely food, great service - look forward to being back in December
Usually we absolutely love it at the Spice Merchant but our recent visit was disappointing. Very busy as last but one night to go out before lockdown. Tables were so close together and no extra distance between them. No hand towels after eating and no decaffeinated coffee.
Considering the current situation there was little evidence of social distancing and we asked to move tables for that reason. People were also moving freely about the restaurant without adequate face covering and were not challenged.
Other than that the food was totally amazing.
A very enjoyable meal I’m nice surroundings, service was excellent with a very attentive waiter. Will be going again
Excellent food and service as always
The food was outstanding and the ambiance was very good.
Our booking was for 17:45 and we were warned beforehand that we would need to vacate the table by 19:45.
However, the popadoms we had ordered were snatched away from us before we had finished them, making us feel too rushed, and we insisted on keeping them.
We vacated our table at 19:30.
We were dismayed to see that a 12.5% service charge had been added to the bill without our consent and we asked for this to be removed as we would not have chosen to pay that amount.
Delicious food, great service, always a favourite with our family!
The restaurant had no concept of social distancing and making sure tables are appropriately spaced in the current Covid-19 environment, not a comfortable dining experience. Food was same as prior times we have been (i.e. better than most Indian restaurants). Service was lackluster.
By far the best Indian food iv ever had. I will definitely be visiting again soon. The staff are all very friendly. Great restaurant and would highly recommend a visit
Brilliant restaurant, fantastic food , fixed lunch menu was still a little too much food but really lovely
Really great meal as always at the Spice Merchant. The seafood mixed platter to start was so tasty. A main of black pepper chicken was just melt in the mouth. Social distancing was observed as was the current 10pm closing time. The service was excellent and I would highly recommend an evening here.
lovely food and ambience, and vey well run during lockdown, with table spacing, santisers etc.
Curry too hot and tables too close. Efficient service
Beautiful restaurant but sadly everything was puréed, sauces and chutneys. Also ,almost all of meal was dominated by sweetness.
Starters were very good but unfortunately the description of the mains on the menu and by the staff ,did not reflect the actual dishes.
Despite the management very kindly taking my dish off the bill. Regrettably we will not be returning. We will continue our quest to find our perfect Indian restaurant.
We were seated in the entrance lobby by the front door, the table with the hand sanitiser on it and next to the very busy toilets. We didn't actually get to see the main restaurant. Poppadoms were ordered, £1 each, and served with pickles which you also get charged for. So far, £10 gone! We waited over 1/2 hour for our starters which we all said were very tasty. Main courses were fine, nothing special, but tasty. I had been looking forward to eating at the Spice Merchant for some time wondering what high end Indian food was like. We left bitterly disappointed.
Service was sloppy, cutlery dumped on the table for us to sort out, and we waited for drinks service because we were not seated in the actual restaurant, so out of sight of the staff.
The bill came to £193 for 3.
This is twice the amount we normally pay for an Indian meal locally. I am not saying the food wasn't nice, it was, but no nicer than elsewhere. This certainly wasn't the experience I expected .
All in all a very disappointing and expensive experience.
Waited a bit for food order to be taken and for the food to arrive but otherwise attentive service
Food was delish, wasn’t expecting it to be quite so expensive! Service was good to start but went a little down hill, had to ask for drinks that had been ordered and not delivered more than once and long wait between starter and main!
Lovely food as always!
