About
Authentic Indian good. Service friendly but unprofessional just not attentive, not keeping on eye on diners. Inexpensive.
Exellent Indian food made as spicy as you would like it with good portion sizes. Nice ambiance.
We first went to Spice Kitchen shortly after it opened and it was clear they didn't have their act together yet. Time has gone by so we figured we'd give them another chance. This time service was fine but the food hadn't improved. The tandoori chicken wings appetizer was excellent and the garlic naan was very good. However the main courses were only fair. I was especially disappointed by the tandoori shrimp. There are numerous Indian restaurants in this area of Westchester and several are much better than Spice Kitchen. So we can't recommend this.
First visit after receiving a recommendation from a family member. Appreciated the varied food choices. With just 2 in our party, not very much of an opportunity to try multiple dishes. But menu was interestng enough that we will be back to try more.
Food was quite good and plentiful, but sadly the service deteriorated badly as the meal progressed.
We took our teenage granddaughter for dinner while she was visiting us. She was more familiar with food and flavors of this type of food. The service people were helpful but a little hard for us to understand but between the 3 of us we worked it out. I'm not exactly sure what we ordered except moderate and hotter spices between two nans and two chicken types and a vegetable meal. I tried the mojito (non acoholic) and it was fabulous.
We appreciated the high quality of the buffet offerings. Very attentive and friendly staff.
I really love the food quality and taste of this restaurant. The decor is gorgeous but service is on the slow sidde and the lack of music makes it a bit awkward.
Very good Indian food and pleasant servers. Recommended for couples as well as groups.
Fully enjoyed it. The hospitality was warm and genuine and the food was delicious.
Since Bengal Tiger's demise, we have been looking for a good Indian restaurant. We certainly found it with Spice Kitchen. The food was delicious. The owner's suggestions are to be trusted. We will go back
Spice Kitchen was a nice surprise. It was our first time visiting the restaurant. Very nice decor and the service was very attentive. We had a party of 4 in a large booth, which gave us lots of room for glasses, plates, serving dishes, and to be comfortable. Even better was the food. I can't say anything was bad. It was all good and decent entree portions were provided. I would suggest a larger portion for the wing appetizer. It was basically two chicken which they split for four pieces. I think for price they could have provided 3 or 4 full wings; for a total of 6 to 8 pieces.
The food was outstanding and the service was very friendly. I will definitely go back if I'm in Mamaroneck again.
One of the best Indian restaurants I've visited. Service was friendly and attentive. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food. We're definitely going back.
If you have any dietary restrictions you can forget about ordering here. They pretend they are listening and lie about what is the food. The owner at the door seems nice but talks about patrons behind their backs. He has a bad attitude. When the food comes out "right", it's very good. I had to send a dish back more than once because it contained cheese and I have a dairy allergy. The owner was annoyed when I told him several times that I did not eat dairy. He then tells me that the other dishes contained dairy too. The waiter insisted that they didn't! Needless to say......We won't be going back there again.
Second time here and although a bit disorganized they were happily filled on a sat .nite. They forgot the cauliflower appetizer and my friends lentil soup but we were happy as left stuffed... The smoked eggplant we had as an appetizer ( under entrees was the best. The chicken tikka Marsala was wonderful as was the prequarki bread!! The lamb curry was great !! They are not only lovely but anxious to please.. Do not miss!!
CAME HERE WITH A GROUPON AND FOUND THE FOOD AND SERVICE WONDERUL!
WE ENDED UP ORDERing more than the groupon so was somewhat pricey. Chicken tikka Marsala was delicious. One of us liked it mild--others spicey so they gave us more spice on the side. The eggplant was terrific--we had the vegetarian course as an appetizer. The tandoori chicken was moist and flavorful. Naan was great. Samosas delicious ...Will definitely return.
Very delicious Indian food, everything we ordered was perfect!
3rd time here. first was very good. second was awful service and food not so good either. we thought we would try one more time. three of us got served and 15 minutes later, after a reminder they put in the 4th meal. the 3 dishes were tasty. i had asked for vindaloo very spicy. got served very late and very mild.
not going back
Excellent food and service but the restaurant was VERY WARM. Yes, we were there on one of the hottest days, however the air conditioning was not sufficient to cool to a comfortable level. People complained but there seemed to be nothing they could do.
Had a very nice meal!
The food is consistanly good authentic Indian. The ambiance is noce, noise quiet to moderate. Service is well intended and gentle but can benefit by a head waiter to manage service timing and accuracy. Price range is a value meal.
This was authentic style tandori yet updated vegetarian style, also the chicken vondalu was tasty and with 5 levels of spice intensity custom calibrated to our taste bids. I highly recommend outdoor seating in the summer. The service is pleasant. The food and experience value was much greater then the bill. In a word ... GO.
lovely dining experience....very good food....cooked to order (as you like it)
Best Indian food in years. Our Third time back. Service was very good
I enjoyed the Indian cuisine, great chance to try different sauces, etc.
This is my second time at this restaurant since it's been open. Great food. Had the shrimp Korma. Was delish! Fantastic service. Will be going back.
This is our second time there and each time, food, service and ambiance only got better and better!
110 in my book of favorites.
Management has a lot to learn about running a restaurant. We wait almost 30 minutes for a bowl of soup and naan, then when it finally comes the manager and waiter hover over us apologizing instead of letting us enjoy our meal.
Then to top it off after a horrible experience they didn't even offer to comp us a soda.
Food was so/so. Not going back.
Wonderful flavor a, great spices! Highly recommend this "new" restaurant.
I have never had Indian food before. The waiter made great suggestions. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Food was delicious. New restaurant with modern comfortable atmosphere.
This was our second time here and we brought friends. I was disappointed in the meal. Food was warm, not hot, way too much sauce and not enough meat/ chicken , very small portions of bread, soda in a narrow glass, half ice and no suggestion of a free refill. I always take issue when a restaurant services 5 pieces of appetizer instead of 6-makes it hard to share.
We will give it another chance, but are concerned.
Very pleasant and welcoming experience. Excellent food, fresh, well presented. Good drink selection. Ten people served in a timely manner. Will definitely go back.
Ate lunch at Spice Kitchen with two friends on Wednesday, 3/16/16. Food was fine. Service was fine. Renovated decor is great. Issue is only five people eating there on a Wednesday during Restaurant Week. Should have been busier. I think this place could work with more advertising and exposure. It's in a busy area of Mamaroneck.
Tower of thinly sliced crisp little eggplants with shredded coconut was unusual & enjoyable. Menu presentation of meat/sauce options clever & useful. We chose lamb Madras-style medium hot. Very good. Tandoori-cooked mixed veggies were a nice way to round out our dinner.
the service at this restaurant was some of the worst I've ever experienced. if that was improved this would be a very good restaurant as the food was good.
Looking forward to this new Indian restaurant. My husband & I were seated at a table for 2. If we had entree plates, bread basket & drinks it would have been fine...but ...every dish was its own bowl, plus our plates, plus bread basket, plus water and wine glasses....no room....ended up putting the salt and stand up drink menu on the floor & balancing my glasses on the edge. We were also against a wall that beat different light panels every few minutes...very disconcerting. Asked the waitress for a side sauce, she said she would look for it and it never came. Actually bolted for the door after bill was paid...I was actually physically uncomfortable there.
We went with another couple and enjoyed the shared plates. We ordered the appetizer plates and then several entrees and naan. Our waiter really had no idea what he was doing. He could barely open the bottle of wine and had no recommendations for us. If the restaurant can find some good help, they stand a chance.
The chicken and lamb are always tender and tasty. Yummy!
