We celebrated our daughter’s 16th birthday here. It was our very first time. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious & they even gave my daughter a free ice cream dessert that was yummy! My only complaint is that it is very noisy. We definitely want to come back.
Food was good, but the restaurant was woefully under-staffed. We received our food before we got our drinks. The hostess was also a waiter and was working the bar. Hopefully this was just an off night. I enjoyed the green curry dish.
The food and drinks were very good. The value was very good. The only negative was our attendant did not have a good understanding of our English.
The beef entree only covered about half the plate. It tasted fine but needed better presentation. The food temperature was warm. Not hot.
The food was excellent, but the music was a bit too loud and was a tad annoying. Service was good, except for my husbands appetizer being served along with his entree. Flavors of the food were outstanding. Cocktails were delish!
Great happy hour experience. Beautiful venue; great service; great prices on food and drink. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend.
Great experience. Will visit again. Ordered the tropical mango- was delighted by the flavor balance. The serving of rice with the entree was too small but extra rice doesn’t cost too much so that’s nice.
Delicious food and ginger cosmopolitan. We got potstickers and Dan Dan noodles to start. Followed by pad Thai and an awesome beef and vegetable concoction. My sister doesn’t like heat while I do so they brought me heat to add. I have already recommended Spice 28 to two others.
Very good food, and great staff. Would recommend to anyone.
We arrived early and the staff got us seated with no problem, and it was early and not filled. The atmosphere is modern and done very well. To the food, awesome. I am not a big Asian food person but my wife is. We bother had great dishes. Our appetizers were great. The pork dumplings in chili oil did not disappoint, the app was delicious. My cummin lamb was spicy, well done, and truly a great meal. The place filled up and the noise level rose but the place handles the noise and crowd. We really liked spice28. A revisit is in order.
My gf and I came here last year in 2017 on Valentines Day and sat next to the window in the front and had great food and great service.
Unfortunately, we were seated in the main room in very close quarters to other people and the service was just terrible. We had 4 different people wait our table and their was no consistency and we often waited a long time before getting refills, ordering dessert, and getting the check.
The staff seemed lost, confused, and their was no organization happening. I'll be back but probably only when it's not buy and maybe just to sit at the bar for happy hour.
I am going to try this place again when it’s not Valentine’s Day. We had some service trouble getting drinks and placing orders as the place was packed, however I am going to chalk that up to the day. I will be going back here to try on a more calm night and test out the service. Food was good but also seemed to suffer from busy night. Want to work through the menu.
We found Spice 28 while searching for Asian food in Philly. Decided to go during Happy Hour. What a deal! Great cocktails for $6.00 and 1/2 price appetizers. I totally enjoyed a "Philly Love: while my hubby had a "Dragon Nectar". Actually he had 4 and it was a good thing we were walking. Had delicious pork dumplings in chili oil, ahi tuna dumplings, lettuce wrapped chicken (most tasty we have ever had), dan dan noodles, peking duck crepe ( more of a roll than a crepe) and roasted duck salad. Would highly recommend this place when in central Philly.
What a great find! The food was amazing and our waitress was superb!
The Pad Thai was bland.. The chicken was slick and bouncy and i initially thought it was undercooked but it just had a weird texture. Service was nonexistent. The waitress took my order, another gentleman brought my food to the table. Neither of them ever came back. I had to ask for my check. It wasn’t busy although I know they probably had a busy day following the super bowl parade. There were only a few other tables occupied. I left hungry. My cocktail was nice.
Went out for restaurant week but definitely messed up the bill and charged us $6 each for the first course meal that should have been included the $70 deal for the four course dinner like it says online and when checking the menu in person. People forgot my second course and thought they delivered it but forgot which I completely understand as it was crowded and in the end was solved with quick delivery after realizing their fault. Overall a nice place but outrageously priced for restaurant week serving little food and was not worth the price.
The food was amazing. It was of course busy as it was restaurant week but our server was quite attentive. The drinks were tasty and the water was kept at the table without asking. Overall great experience.
Favorite place for lunch!
I went with a large group so got to try many different dishes. All but one or two were exceptionally good. Fun atmosphere too. My only complaint is the service: the staff is friendly and nice, but not at all attentive. Constantly had to flag someone down when we needed to order drinks.
Everything was perfect!!! Went for restaurant week.
My second time to Spice 28. Love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is prompt and friendly.
Went during restaurant week to try this restaurant, was our first time here. The food was presented beautifully, and tasted great. Very good menu, with the appetizers being the stars. Drinks were also very good, but overpriced for the size. The service was also very good, it was not crowded, but the staff was very attentive and polite to us.
We definitely would go back for another meal.
Fantastic Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. Chicken lettuce wraps were a great appetizer as well. Good value for price. Will come again.
There was a huge selection, which everyone appreciated. However, as the night went on, our waitress disappeared. We had to ask someone else to bring us our check because we had already waited 20 minutes after finishing dessert. The food was also fairly pricey for what we ordered. We probably could've gotten similar food just up the road for a quarter of the price.
Went for restaurant week. One of the largest restaurant week menu I have ever seen. Good value. Indian pancakes were amazing
Was very satisfied with food and service. Went there for restaurant week and it was definitely a great choice!
Restaurant Week- So many choices. I chose it because the name sounded good and boy am I glad I did! A gem of a place. My cocktail was Devine! The food was just out of this world delicious! From presentation to service to being nice & hot! Just a wonderful experience all the way around! My daughter & I can’t wait to go back’
First time trying this restaurant for restaurant week and I must say I am very impressed. The were very welcoming from the time we walked in the door... The food is delicious and the drinks are woooooo!!!
If you like crab rangoons, get the crab quesadilla. Sounds weird but it's crazy good.
Friendly wait staff. Inquired about food allergies and made sure that order was prepared appropriately. Delicious food.
They forgot one of our appetizers but didn’t charge us for it. The drinks were weak
This was our Christmas dinner. First time here, and it was great. We ordered appetizers and the chicken lettuce wraps and the rock shrimp were both excellent. All our entrees were great as well. Service was prompt and attentive. Overall we will be going back.
Lindsey our server was outstanding!
Great environment, food noise level and yummy food.
I was surprised the food was just so so given the reviews. I'd rank this just an average Thai/Shezchuan place. I'd recommend them to just stick to one or there other and make it really great. I don't think they can do all very well. My Tom Yum soup was just so-so, the spring rolls were good but not fantastic. My colleagues food was just standard chinese stir fry. The spice level was good but the flavor fell flat. This place looks great inside and the service is great but doesn't live up to the hype.
Thai Calamari was excellent, it went downhill from there. Group of 5 had various ratings but at best it was a 3 out of 5. Entrée not impressive, a curry dish and rice, far too watery. Others complained about too salty. Wonton soup was rated very good but not really pleased. Third time I have been there and the first two were excellent, otherwise, I would not have gone a third time. Maybe it was what ordered! My bad!
Always a favorite! Good deal for the money spent.
Service was exceedingly slow - 20 minutes before anyone took an initial drink order. One of our party, who has a very high tolerance for spicy food, received a sechuan style dish that was about 50% dried pepper pods and so hot it was largely inedible. Meanwhile my panang curry was disappointingly mild and flavorless. Between the food and poor service, none of our threesome will be back.
This was my first time at the restaurant Spice 28. The ambiance was serene with low lights and the food was very good. The Asian cuisine was delicious. At my table we sampled chicken, beef, and eggplant dinners and they were all very good.
They were so accommodating for our group of 10, they did seperate checks for us all and served us quickly & efficiently! Very happy!
