double-cut Australian lamb chops
The filet mignon was so good! The groupon we had was a great deal. I would eat here again!
Our Caesar salads were not good. Very poor quality salmon and shrimp. Extra bland dressing with majority plain chopped iceberg lettuce. This was truly disappointing for a final price of $20 each plus tax! We will not be back. The entire menu was priced too high with steaks coming in around $50 a plate. Sorry, we could not recommend Spencer’s. The hostess was delightfully kind, efficient and professional.
It’s was a very pleasant place the food was good
Our server was amazing, she was really attentive and accommodating. The food came out at a reasonable time, and everything g tasted amazing. We went to the bar for a couple drinks after dinner and received great service there as well.
Food is good. Ambience is amazing except the pipe in music is too energetic.
The restaurant was freezing cold!!! Very uncomfortable.
The sever was super slow and took him 20 minutes to take our order (we had to flag him down finally). The medium rare steak came well done and had to send it back. This place is a disaster!!
We had the Tomahawk Rib Eye with sides of Mushrooms and Asparagus. The meat was cooked to perfection and sliced table side. The sides were well seasoned and properly cooked. All were delicious! We paired it with a 2014 Silver Oaks Napa Cab, which we were happy to find on their wine list. Our waiter was cordial, knowledgable and attentive. We dined later in the evening so the lasts of the dinner crowd was on the way out as we arrived making the environment fairly quiet.
We have been here before and will return again when in the San Jose area.
Great food , met with my old friend after 18 yrs and had dinner. Place was great, nice service, ambiance and everybody loved food especially my wife liked Lamb chops
The only problem was the fact that they did not have my Open Table reservation in their system. They were able to accommodate us.
Excellent food good service
Booked reservations for NYE dinner. I used to frequent Spencer's often for work dinners, but unfortunately it is nothing like I remember and I will definitely not be visiting again after last nights experience. They were only serving the NYE menu, and I found the food to be overly salty. My partner and I both had filet mignon. Both were overcooked, and the outside of the steaks were dry, burnt and charred. Really disappointing from a quality perspective. A good steakhouse should be able to cook a decent steak, but this doesn't appear to be the case anymore at Spencer's. I am not even sure the steaks were cooked to order given the speed they came out and lack of moisture within each filet. Very disappointing
Since it was New Year’s Eve, they had a special prix fixe menu of four courses for $89. All of the selections we chose were delicious. The service was paced very nicely, no feeling of being rushed. Both of us had been to Spencer’s before so we were very confident that we would have a memorable experience. We did!
The wait was terrible, a wait to order, a wait for food almost an hour, and then it wasn't cooked as requested, wrong sides, and of course some sides were down right cold. Won't go back. Hire more when you are busy-
We both felt great at Spencer’s, the steak we ordered was today’s special, they serve very nice special as always, the price and the steak were good, we enjoyed dinner. Thank you so much, we talked about other famous restaurants, but here is the greatest one. Whenever I would like have steak, I always visit here.
Ordered medium porterhouse Steak came out rare first time. Then they regrilled the sliced meat and came out overcooked. Third attempt was rare again. At this stage paid for drinks and left. Waiter was not in the least sorry or apologetic.
It was great, food was great, I wasn’t informed that the water me and my party paid for, had cost money. Overall the restaurant was very nice.
We had a very pleasant dinner and our the staff was amazing.
It was a great place for Thanksgiving. The food was delicious and there was a lot. The only thing that would have been better was if they had a vegetarian option.
Thanksgiving dinner was great. Choice of four main course meals. Our rack of lamb was cooked perfect! Sirloin was as well. Scallop appetizer was so creamy buttery full of wonderful flavor. It was not too noisy, clean and comfortable although it was a bit dark in lighting. Our server was nice and attentive. We will definitely be back for more.
Really good food, I got the pork chop and was pleasantly surprised. Also a big suprise was the crab max and cheese THEY PUT SO MUCH CRAB IN IT and it taste soooo good. Definitely coming again. Highly recommend
Business Lunch, excellent ribeye.
Steak house without baked potatoes???
Only one vegetarian choice on menu!!!!
Sides like mac n cheese could easily be made vegetarian
Very disappointed in the dinner service. I frequent Spencer’s for client lunches and never an issue. There was only 8 tables occupied, the rest empty. Only 2 servers and no manager on duty tonight, I was shocked when a busboy brought our food out. It was 20 minutes from when we were seated until we were approached, finally got water and a wine list 20 minutes later, our food finally showed up but we were still waiting for our bottle of wine, the waiter really seemed overwhelmed and confused. I frequent this place for lunch very frequently the past 8 years and tonight really shed some light on the disfunction and I will be looking for a new lunch spot.
Spencer's is our go-to restaurant when my wife and I are craving steak since it's nearby and prepares the steaks the way we like them. We had ribeyes, brussel sprouts, salt and pepper fries and we split a Ceasar salad. All items were delicious as were the 2 Pinot Noirs we chose. Nickos(?) provided great service even though they were short-staffed that evening, which leads to the only negative during this visit. We had 6 PM reservations but we arrived late at 6:15 PM. Upon being greeted by the hostess she informed us that due to being short on servers that we'd have to wait about 5 minutes or we could choose to dine in the bar area if we preferred no to wait. We decided we'd rather sit in the main dining room and didn't mind waiting. Though she checked up on us a couple times, we didn't get seated until 7 PM. This is the first time we've had this happen so we'll chalk it up as being caused by an unforeseen staffing issue that couldn't have been avoided. Once seated, we did notice that the service took slightly longer than usual but we understood the situation and thought we still received good service. Thank you.
We love Spencer’s. The rib eye was absolutely amazing! Cooked perfect and great flavor.
We had a rough day of unplanned airline delays and travel, but we finally made it to our destination. Thankfully Spencer's was conveniently located close to the airport, and it was an evening we will never forget. Quite simply the best steak meal I have ever had with sides that were unique and very special. The ambiance was just what we needed and service second to none. When we are in the area, I plan to come back and visit.
I have been coming here for close to 15 years. I have never had a bad experience here.
Dinner with clients. Clients really appreciated the food and service and it wasn't too busy, so the noise level was very good. Even with a large party behind a draped partition was not noticeable, so overall a really good experience. We each choose the rib eye and shared a couple sides and appetizers. Really enjoyed the calamari.
Enjoyed filet and mushrooms
Wonderful service. The food was delicious as always
We were able to be seated right away even though we were about 20 minutes early for our reservation. The ambiance is very nice, has an upscale feel that would rival Morton’s or Alexander’s. The drinks were good, although I didn’t taste any maple in my maple Manhattan, and the wine list was extensive. I also appreciated that they had an option to purchase a half bottle of wine, knowing that many people want more options than what is on the “by the glass” list, but they can’t always finish a whole bottle of wine. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, however, that was the only part of our meal that we really enjoyed. The calamari we ordered for our appetizer didn’t have any dipping sauce and the crema cheese that was supposed to be on there was very sparse...definitely didn’t see any of the other items the menu it said it came with. The 3 sides we got to go with our steaks were ok. The potatoes weren’t as light and airy as they should have been, but still tasted great to me since it tasted like the mashed potatoes I grew up on. The creamed spinach had WAY too much nutmeg in it and wasn’t very creamy, and the crab Mac and cheese didn’t have enough crab for me to taste it.
Overall, the food was ok, but definitely not worth the price point.
They made no effort for a fact that it was our 25th Anniversary!!
Passport is now imposing a $25 fee. The dinner off was $47. The prices at Spencer's are now 25% higher so there is no value. Willard Hicks is a better value. Parking is hard and the service level has dropped.
Disappointing given Spencer’s was highly rated. 3 people in our party ordered steaks and none of them were cooked as requested. I had to send my bone in filet back twice. I typically order my meat medium well but have been to many fine steakhouses that are able to successfully prepare it the first time. Thankfully we were not charged for my steak. The ambiance and wine list at Spencer’s were good.
Steak excellent, service also very good. Valet parking not available during weekday.
Stake was definitely good. Environment is good. Service is good
The food was exceptionally well prepared and presented.
The filet that I had was good. The crab to accompany the steak was bland (no flavor). We had appetizers: bacon (good if you avoid the fat), crab cakes (mediocre) and ahi (I didn't like it). The Caesar salad was not good. The lettuce was fresh but the salad dressing was not good. There were 8 of us and 4 of had the Caesar salad - not of us liked it. The bread and the butter (with sea salt) was very good. Several of us were open to dessert but the dessert menu was not appealing. One person had cheesecake and said it was okay. The consensus on the steak (almost everyone had steak) was that it was overcooked, including mine. Birks is a much better steakhouse.
My boss said he likes the food especially the waitress who serve him all the time, which make it better for him. Her name is Nga. Overall he likes Spencers.
The whole experience was awesome
The food was excellent and worth the price. The staff was awesome and were on top of everything. They made are 1yr anniversary a very awesome night. Thank you all at Spencer's
