Spencer's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I like Spencer’s a lot for Brunch but was very disappointed in my dining experience. The waiter was okay but rather condescending. The food was mostly a real letdown. My husband hated the flavor of his meatloaf and the sauce/gravy was barely visible. I was excited to order Dover Sole as I grew up in England and have not had it in a long time. In my opinion I still haven’t! This $40 entree consisted of the two tiniest pieces of fish I have ever been served, probably 2oz total...it was a Sand Dab not a real Dover Sole. The potato side dish was not fully cooked. My Tuna tartare roll was good and so were my husbands Coconut shrimp (although the pineapple slice was as hard as a rock). I think Spencer’s should stick to serving Brunch.
My wife and I had lunch on Valentine's Day and without doubt, it was the most enjoyable Valentine meal we have had. We have been married for 30 years and have been crammed into small spaces on Valentine's with other diners one foot away to the top of Seattle's private dining room on floor 76 with most experiences less than ideal. From the pleasant valet to the front receptionist, to our very informed wait person to a especially delicious meal, we were so very pleased.
Thank you management for the truly special resturant in Spencer's. We will be back this weekend.
Spencers was a disappointment, after all the glowing things we had read and heard about it. We thought it was nothing special, which is why I haven't checked any of the boxes above. For these prices, there should be some pleasant surprises, but it was a standard menu for an upper class restaurant--very good food and service, but nothing else to differentiate this restaurant from any others at their prices. We greatly preferred Bernies Supper Club in Ranch Mirage, the same price points, but with a more innovative chef and a menu and staff with better senses of humor.
Beautiful atmosphere especially when seated under the ficus tree on the patio. Great menu variety and the fixed price menu is a tremendous value. We enjoyed the white fish and the short ribs which were perfectly prepared and had great flavor. Solid wine list with moderate prices.
We were disappointed that we weren't seated at a table requested when the early reservation was made. The patio atmosphere at this restaurant is always pleasant. The service during the last 2 visits (for lunch and Sunday brunch) has been lax, not up to the usual standard. The food is good as is the presentation.
If you are seeking classic country club food - lots of melted cheese, friend foods, lettuce wedge - this is your place. The shaded patio is a nice oasis, but it suffers from being extremely noisy. unless you are willing to walk many blocks, you will be loved into valet parking. Enjoy!
The waiter neglected to provide all information about the ingredients for the soup, which came with crab meat and I have a severe allergy to fish of all types. Once the server took our order he never returned to check on us. Salad is bagged greens tossed on the plate with little dressing. I know this is a favorite of many locals in PS, I cannot imagine why. Restaurant was not clean, bathrooms not clean, with 3 hostesses one would think they could check the bathrooms out a little more often. I always feel like I am intruding on this restaurant, so have decided not to return.
A beautiful room wasted on bad cooking. Sorry to say we were all disappointed with our meal, 2 veal chops, ordered medium rare - cooked to medium and one meat loaf, tasting like cardboard.
The staff was fine, nothing to brag about, but no problems either. Too bad the chef couldn't hold up his part of the bargain.
We were seated outside and it was lovely with great ambiance. Our waiter was very efficient and always there when we needed him. The food choices were good with some delicious daily specials. I would come back to this restaurant and recommend to my friends.
We went here looking for a quiet dining out experience. Spencer’s is just that. We sat in the garden which I recommend. They did have a piano bar as well and an inside part. The food was excellent. I had duck and husband has short ribs. The menu was varied as was the wine list. Spencer’s is not cheap but everything about our evening more than met our expectations.
There’s nothing wrong with Spencer’s BUT there’s nothing that compelling either. It’s outdated decor, slightly tired menu, decent outdoor area all need an ‘overhaul’ . The location is fantastic (nestled up close to San Jacinto) on a cool smaller side street but that’s the only really cool thing about it.
Overall: It’s nice, decent and above avg but that’s about it.
Spencer's is one of our favourite restaurants in the Valley. However like most places in North America I would not rate the noise level as Energetic. I'd call it too loud, but what can be done about that I've no idea.
Our server Jennifer was outstandingly pleasant and helpful.
Not our first visit to Spencer’s....but, it was the best! My wife booked us a table for breakfast on my Birthday. Easy valet set up. Seated immediately on the outside patio. Our server, Michelle was lovely...and very attentive! Menu selections were endless and reasonably priced. I chose corned beef hash with poached eggs....my wife went all out for the pancakes. Both selections were served hot and quickly....and were wonderful! Michelle was very professional and attentive as well as cordial. Lovely patio with a fire pit burning, and plenty of shade !
Our previous trip for dinner was not quite as spectacular, but after our breakfast experience...we will give it another try....soon!
