I don’t normally leave a review, but since we had such an exceptional waiter, Robert, I felt compelled to leave a review this time. Robert was very professional and made us all feel welcome and relaxed. He was attentive and served us specialty coffee drinks promptly, making us feel that it was his pleasure to serve us.
My daughter also commented to me that she felt Robert was the best waiter that she has had in many years.
Initially when I saw on the website that there would be a 17% gratuity tip automatically added to the bill, I felt this percentage was a bit high for a brunch venue. However, after receiving the service that we did from Robert I was more than happy to leave this gratuity.
All the members of my family thoroughly enjoyed this Brunch and we will definitely be coming back to Spencer’s!

Everything was great! would have loved to know that all the drinks were included! I'm sure that was mentioned on the website some where i just missed it! Mimosa's and Caesar's included and all for just $51 per person!

Just make sure you go hungry! Higher price point- but great quality overall day.

Have been dining here for years. Brunch has improved. Food was flavourful and fresh and a couple of new items introduced. Good selection; not overwhelming. Service all-around was good. Thanks

Food was not bad at all, however not good enough to justify the price tag. The views are great though. Lake in the summer and outdoor skating rink in the winter. The waitress was top notch.

We had a family meal at Spencer's when they first opened and at the time, we didn't we would ever go back. The layout created such a amplification of noise, that we couldn't carry on a conversation! Last November, my husband brought me back for a birthday meal - we were pleasantly surprised by the changes, with a combination of family-friendly corners as well as more intimate booths away from the main area. To make the evening even better, we happen to be there on a Tuesday for the "steaks and grapes " special, which was Devine!! We've made it our new years resolution to goat least one Tuesday a month!

My husband and I ate here for New Year's Day brunch with our 9 month old. We were seated where the high chair had to be where one of the chairs was and not at the outside of the table. The high chair strap didn't tighten very well. This meant us having to switch chairs back and forth so one of us was right beside our baby as we took turns getting our food. It was not very enjoyable. Any other restaurant we have eaten at the high chair is able to go at the outside of the table/booth or we are seated at a round table. I did have a reservation and in it specifies a high chair.

In addition, we didn't find the service to be that good (server came back only to clear plates and only asked once if my hubby wanted another drink (never asked me), and the food was not so good either. The waffles were left out so they were cold, and much of what I tasted I took one bite and that was enough (for me being a foodie that says a lot). Considering this cost us $65 each plus tax and gratuities, we really didn't feel it was worth it. Very disappointing considering Spencer's is a sentimental place to us (where we had our first date and anniversary dinners). Wish we could get that money back...

Seating was overcrowded...a table for two felt like a table for 6 because we were crammed in and we were told we couldn’t move the table. It was very uncomfortable! The service was not great, missing items, wrong course was served, drink order was forgotten. My husband had the steak which he enjoyed, I ordered the lobster...which for the price was not satisfactory. The Portion was very small and quality of the meat was not good.
We will not return or recommend Spencer’s.

First time dining here. Restaurant was beautifully decorated. Met up with old friends for my husband's birthday. Restaurant readily accommodated plans that I wanted to put in place. Our waiter was also absolutely phenomenal. I definitely recommend.

Love the restaurant location and ambience. Our waiter was excellent. In the past, that has not always been the case but on my last 2 visits, I have been impressed. Thank you for that, it's very important. I've been to this restaurant several times over the many years it has been a Burlington landmark. It has not always been predictable which has meant that I'm not a regular. The location is one that can not be beat and I do love the new decor.

The food is good, not scrumptious or memorable, but still good. I was there with my husband, daughter and two teenage grand kids for lunch. Nice selections. I chose the trout while my husband and grand kids chose beef (burgers and prime rib sandwich). My daughter had the vegetarian falafel. All good.

My only comment on the food that is a tad negative is that I absolutely love fresh cut french fries. These are more like little chips, none are longer than an inch or so. We all ordered fries but they are so much trouble to eat, we could have done with one order. If you want good fries, go to Jake's Grill and Oyster House in Burlington...different, I get that, but they are THE BEST!

We had a very nice steak dinner last Friday. We were on our way to the theater to see a Christmas play and the restaurant was decorated for Christmas also. Lovely location for an evening dinner watching the skaters on the ice below the restaurant. A little cold on the banquets near the windows and there could be better lighting for reading the menu

Made the drive from Mississauga for my birthday. Through open table, waitstaff was informed of the occasion and made note of it. They gave me a lovely chocolate cookie ice cream sandwich after my meal served with a lit candle. Nice gesture!

Approaching the holidays, reservations recommended. The restaurant was noisy and rammed with patrons. There was a private party this night. The restaurant is situated right at Spencer Smith park by the waterfront that featured holiday lights for the public to enjoy. There was also some kind of skating event on the rink outside. People were braving subzero weather to watch from the terrace. Spencer staff kept them warm with drinks. Parking however was a nightmare!!

So, given the crowd this night, the waitstaff was excellent. Attentive and accommodating. We ordered drinks and a small bread bowl was provided. The featured fish board was explained clearly and left nearby so we could see it.

We both ordered the Albacore Tuna. It was served with sautéed kale and grilled beets. It also came with a small bowl of fluffy basmati rice. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious, however my tuna was over cooked which made it a bit dry and tough. I prefer my tuna just slightly seared on the outside and mostly raw inside to maintain its tenderness and flavour. The chef left it on the grill a tad too long. Thought about sending it back, but given how busy it was this night, decided to enjoy it as is.

I’d like to give this restaurant another shot at a time when it’s not so crowded and busy. I feel the quality of the food suffered a bit because of it.

My friend and I are from out of town (Cambridge and Toronto ), so we love to meet at Spencer’s as it’s just midway for each of us. The ambience is always perfect and we can have a nice chat and catch up time in a quiet, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The service is always excellent -friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Food is consistently outstanding. I’m a pescatarian and have no problem finding a perfect selection from the menu. We have been coming to Spencer’s for a few years and will continue to do so. Thanks for making our dining experience so enjoyable!

A special occasion place, with excellent tasting food. We had soup, shared the beet salad, and an main each, leaving us no room for desert. Being from the Niagara region I would have enjoyed seeing more local wines on the wine list. After learning it was my wife's Birthday, they went the extra mile to make that special.

We attended for my firm's 50th anniversary in business. The service was fantastic. The waiter always seemed to know when we were prepared to order and did not push us to finish at the end of the meal while we reminisced a bit. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was cosy. I would return (and will return) in the future not only for business events, but for personal dining and parties. Thank you.

I love this restaurant. I don't think any buffet is worthy of it though - the buffet concept runs into difficult as foods sit out and lose their optimal presentation and quality - that is the inherent risk of a buffet. This was my first (and hopefully only) buffet at Spencer's. It is such a fantastic place, you need to visit it for a lunch or dinner off the menu. You will be impressed!
