Paul, our server put the capital "H" in hospitality.
Paul and Chris were very attentive and stepped up to deal with any issues that popped up or started to leak (LOL). My date just loved everything as it was her first time.
Amazing staff, excellent service. Decent spread of food, a bit more selection would be nice.
Eight Seniors, table by the window, great service, great selection of food, with great friends, did not feel rushed ( in at noon out at 2.15 pm) wonderful experience ! Are planning to go again soon. Our table was#205 and our main server was Robert G(. #31093) plus others. He was extraordinary as were the rest.
Re the noise. There was one table with all young women ,unusually loud but not a huge complaint.
Totally worth it. What a wonderful brunch and we will certainly be back soon
we booked the table 2 weeks beforehand and requested window seat. but we were told that no window seats available when we arrived, however, less than 5 minutes after we sat near the aisle, few window seats were available. i think it will be nice if the host told us that, we rather waited a bit in order to have a better view seat.
Spencers is always good. I go any chance I get. Gorgeous view of the lake. Interesting and tasty menu. Good service. Excellent!
We really enjoy going to Spencer’s, it has great views, even better when the weather gets warmer, very attentive staff and we love the fish board
Arrived on time. Informed that a table would be ready shortly so were invited to sit at the bar. Then informed they had “overbooked” so we could either sit in a room by ourselves or a table at the bar. Informed the manager that neither option was all that acceptable. In response we received a snotty look. Gee, thanks. Wait staff did the best to make up for a shaky start. Sadly our last visit.
Food was excellent. Service was ok. They often are out of the wine on their menu so they substitute with a lesser value wine which is really not comparable. They were going to charge for the higher value wine until we mentioned the discrepancy. Initially, we felt rushed as the server wanted to take our menus away shortly after we arrived.
Bread was cold and tough. We ordered duck breast and shrimp and scallop pasta. The meat was a bit tough to chew and pasta was just okay in terms of flavor (nothing special) and we feel its overpriced.
Heard great reviews about Spencer's s so took my wife for her birthday celebration at 5:30 to beat any crowd and to enjoy the place before it got too busy. ( no I'm not an old man). We were tabled in the middle of the restaurant and there were many empty tables but would have liked the window. Table was scratched or marked up and seemed sticky. Wouldn't light our candle until it was darker and I would have expected table cloths for this dining. Took 20 minutes to get our drink order once we finally were asked. The whisky sour was poorly made and I couldn't take more than 2 sips. Even my wife commented on the appearance she's never seen before. Had to re-order a different beverage. Food service took some time and place wasn't half full. No complaints about the quality of food other than its quite pricey. We can more than afford it but have been in many a restaurants where quality is just as good for far less. Preordered a cake slice w/candle for the my B-day girl for the end of the meal and had to re-order with waitress. I ordered cheesecake desert for myself as well again took at least 20 minutes and that's after catching my waitress eye a few times for it. By the time it arrived my wife was long finished her desert. Would have been nice not to sit there like a fool watching her eat alone. By the time we left over 2 hours had passed, be prepared, not the place to go for a semi quiet meal and conversation, left more stressed than when I arrived. I might give Spencer's a second chance later this year if I feel daring enough. Good luck and happy Dining!
Amazing service and experience celebrating a special occasion with my family.
I was disappointed. The table was not clean. Although I enjoyed the lobster roll, my friend had the grilled calamari. It was a tiny portion and the sauce served with it was very hot- shocking my friend. It also did not compliment the calamari in any way, It was an expensive, unsatisfactory lunch.
We went to Spencer's as a group of 4 for lunch as my daughter has just recently booked this venue for her wedding in March 2020 and I wanted to check it out. Food was very nice and lovely presentation. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Lovely restaurant on the waterfront with excellent service. Staff were appropriately friendly, knowledgeable and meal was prompt. Food was nicely presented, but just okay. Little in room to absorb sound, so conversations easily travel. Overall it was a good experience. Again, staff were excellent!
The waiter we had was very good but your staff level is way to low for a restaurant that likes to be considered as fine dining. He was run off his feet. We waited too long for our main course, even with allowing for good food preparation. I hoped my filet would be as good or not better than The Keg. Not so.
Great service. Many many delicious choices. The large exterior boat shaped room was very pretty but too noisy.
Loved it. However I’ve heard prices are going up after Easter. And it’s quite a big jump. Probably won’t be able to afford it then.
Our waitress was amazing though! Jennifer I believe her name was 😊
We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday at Spencer's and it was amazing...food and staff! We had the best view in the house without even asking for a window seat! The kids are still talking about it. Although it was pricey, it was well worth the drive
from Toronto. We hope to be back soon...maybe for my parents 60th wedding anniversary in May.
Fabulous as always. Great meal and beautiful spot.
Service was excellent. Food was only ok but not for price you charged. Caesar salad was very small for price you charged. Found it a little noisy
We hadn't been back in a couple of years so we thought we'd see if anything had improved. Unfortunately I think it's actually gone downhill a bit.
The appearance of the restaurant has gone from somewhat sophisticated and refined to a cheap and chaotic look.
Cheap looking lighting down the hall where the booths are located gives a cold and uninviting feel. Almost like a florescent light.
The Charcuterie is excellent. Really well done chicken liver mousse and the pork and foie gras pate was delicious.
We the ordered the crab cakes and tuna crudo. Both were salted rather than seasoned. Unbelievably salty.
Service was friendly, professional, attentive and knowledgable. Really great.
I would recommend Spencer's for drinks on the amazing patio, that's about it though.
Limited menu. Expensive for what you get. Wine list is good. The view is great.
We chose to share appetizers as we were looking for a lighter meal and there weren't any light options on the mains menu.
Service was good and the window e was fine if expensive for a glass.
Slow service - we didn’t even get to order our meal because it took so long to get attention. I ordered mussels as appetizer - they were salty. No bread.
I won’t be back. Very disappointing.
Great location and staff.
Some food items were terrific and some sort of ok.
Would go again mostly for ambiance and location.
Very disappointing overall. We had been to Spencer’s previously and had had a positive experience. This time however we were completely let down. The beet salad appetizer had two pieces of beets in it. The scallop and shrimp pasta had a few scallops no bigger than the size of peas and the few shrimp had tails still attached. The server was rushing us through our meal the whole time. The bar had no IPA beer available. We were also offered a prime table which turned out to be right by the kitchen. The whole experience was very disappointing to the extent that we will not return to Spencer’s on the Wsterfront in the future.
Came for brunch! Nice food display!
Felt the desserts could have used some colour and creativity. Was expecting more of a “wow”. Crepes were amazing - best part!
went there for a birthday dinner, made reservation 6 weeks in advance for a harbour facing seat ... was not seated there, then asked to move table at end of dinner .. just not made to feel very wanted for a $200 meal.
Birthday dinner for my son! The appetizers (butternut squash soup, crab cakes, winter salad) were all delicious. My son's striploin was fantastic. My seafood tagliatelle definitely could have used more "seafood" in it. Lovely ambiance. A wee bit noisy. Overall a lovely dinner.
This is our third time coming to Spencer’s and each time it has been wonderful. The food and the service especially has been the biggest bonus. Chris our server was fabulous. He made us welcomed and was very professional and attentive.
Thank you for the wonderful experience and making our anniversary very special and memorable. We would definitely come back.
Service was great. Food was brought out quickly
The best brunch in the west. Amazing all around -- food, scenery and service
We sat at the bar to eat and our bartender/server was fantastic
The food menu was imaginative (and was a delight) with an interesting choice of foods spanning from red meat to vegan with seafood in between. Nice wine menu. This is a great location with a great view.
Great experience! I had been to the brunch before but my guest hadn’t and raved about how he was going to bring his family next time they were in town. We had a reservation and opted to wait a little longer for a window table, the host offered and brought us a mimosa and caesar to enjoy while we waited. Some of the food wasn’t replenished quickly but there was plenty to choose from so not a big concern. We were able to take our time and not feel rushed. I wish our server had been around a bit more frequently to replenish our drinks/coffee but that was our only issue and otherwise had wonderful service. Will definitely go again.
The atrium area where we sat for brunch was cold and drafty
Everything is wonderful but the music needs a lot of work....how about some classier music like some classical tunes rather than the funky stuff you have on...thanks!
