Spencer's at the Waterfront Ratings and Reviews
Very nice resturant with a beautiful view.
We wenr there for a birthday lunch and the server knew about the birthday from myvreservation amd they gave us a small yummy brownies and cookies, their treat!
Worth it on Tuesday nights with their great deal for two steaks and a bottle of wine for $70.
A special occasion place, with excellent tasting food. We had soup, shared the beet salad, and an main each, leaving us no room for desert. Being from the Niagara region I would have enjoyed seeing more local wines on the wine list. After learning it was my wife's Birthday, they went the extra mile to make that special.
We attended for my firm's 50th anniversary in business. The service was fantastic. The waiter always seemed to know when we were prepared to order and did not push us to finish at the end of the meal while we reminisced a bit. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was cosy. I would return (and will return) in the future not only for business events, but for personal dining and parties. Thank you.
My friend and I have dined together at the Ancaster and Cambridge locations.
We're looking forward to adding Elora next year.
Our server and service was spot on.
We were seated in a booth with a fantastic view of the lake.
Thanks so much for the great experience.
I love this restaurant. I don't think any buffet is worthy of it though - the buffet concept runs into difficult as foods sit out and lose their optimal presentation and quality - that is the inherent risk of a buffet. This was my first (and hopefully only) buffet at Spencer's. It is such a fantastic place, you need to visit it for a lunch or dinner off the menu. You will be impressed!
Excellent location, waterfront; beautiful view; fancy food and great quality; replenish very often; Our waiter is fast, very friendly and get everything we need. Gentleman at rotisserie station is very professional and makes you feel welcome.
The only thing is that front reception feels cold and no greeting (for such restaurant?); wondering if yourself are in the wrong place when stepping in.
Overall very good; will come back.
My boyfriend took me here for my 25th birthday and we had a great time. Food was excellent, ambiance was beautiful, and our waitress, Melissa, was great. She even brought me an ice cream cookie dessert when she found out it was my birthday. Overall had an amazing night. Only thing that would have been better would have been to sit by the window with the view.
My wife and I were celebrating our 38th anniversary. Nice touch with the complementary champagne and dessert!! Outstanding service. Very attentive. Great ambiance. We were a little nervous about dining at Spencers because of reviews that we read, and heard from friends regarding service and food. The service part was quickly laid to rest thanks to Melissa. She is a wonderful server. We shared the dry aged 18 oz strip loin. Plenty of food. We ended up taking some home. The steak was very tasty and cooked to perfection. We just found that it could have been a little more tender. Other than that, and the fact that it's a tad pricey, we had a great time and would go back again.
Had good meals here many times before but this time, our order waslong in coming, then wrong (the three of us ordered the same thing). It came later but it would have been nice to been offered something (even carrots or olives or a free pop as a jesture). Luckily the birthday treat was delivered so at least that was a good thing.
We were there for my daughter’s 18 birthday, party of 4, seated at 6:40 and dinner took almost 2 hours for apps and entrees, no dessert. Service was slow and not very attentive. At one point everyone had empty glasses in front of them, no drinks or water. The bread took at least 20 minutes to arrive. We were in one of the banquettes down the side so not in a highly visible spot but still...
Server was pleasant and friendly.
With a tab of $300 for 4 ppl I expect better.
Food quality was good, nice it arrived.
Went there because of its >4 star ratings in different sites (yelp, TripAdvisor, open table, even Facebook). However I was quite disappointed. The menu was quite limited w only five or six different entrees on top of their list of steaks. I don't think rabbit or elk are common food that is going to be popular so it would be nice to have more choices. I ended up picking the special prefix dinner w the artic char while the rest of our party all picked steaks (like I said, nothing else was enticing enough). My family liked their steaks. I will give you that. They had the rib eye and prime ribs. My fish though was undercooked. The plate came with two pieces of the fish, the smaller piece was well done while the bigger one was undercooked in the middle after I ate a few bites (and fed it to my kids!). I had to use my phone to shine light on it to see as it was really dark in the restaurant. I showed it to our waitress and he was very nice about it and said it's supposed to be medium cooked as you can eat it raw. Really? He gave me a fresh plate, which was great. But the presentation of the whole plate was aweful. I am not familiar w the grain that's at the bottom of the fish, that looked black, the skin of the fish was black, the zucchini was dark green, and the cauliflower was stained almost grey. It was a plate of black. My prefix also comes with Cesar salad, and the dressing was so salty that I could not eat it. I told the waiter and all he said was "I'll let the kitchen know." It's a beautiful restaurant but the food could really do better. Kids menu was chicken fingers and pasta. Nothing special. Kinda of disappointed. I love the location the view. Maybe I will consider its buffet which I was told is good.
We did the Sunday brunch and the food quality was poor. We’ve done the brunch before and it was good, this past experience was well below expectations. Meat was dry, pastries tasted store bought and there wasn’t the selection of buffet items expected for $50 a person. That was the biggest fault, very little value
Have no recommendations to make. It really was very very good. Service was excellent as was the food. We sat outside and had a wonderful time. Will certainly recommend it and come back ourselves. Not too often as we have to save for retirement. We got treated by our friends for our fortieth wedding anniversary.
