We went on Tuesday evening. It was steak and grape night. This special comes with steak frites and a bottle of wine preselected by the restaurant. We started with oysters and they were fresh and chilled to perfection. The steak and fries were excellent and there was a ton of asparagus on the plate as well..although they were swimming in some green sauce..not so good. It’s a beautiful restaurant and staff are very friendly. Service was a little slow...long wait between oysters and steak dinner but the scenery was beautiful...

Fabulous location overlooking Lake Ontario. Friendly service offering options in a kind, diplomatic manner. Food arrived quickly and piping hot. It was tasty, good size portions. There were three fish tacos and best fries I have ever tried. The brownie dessert was outstanding!! We wold definitely go again. The sangria quenched our thirst on the warm day. Even the coffee was flavourful. So glad we chose Spencer's for lunch!

Waited 45mins for a waiter to take our order. Then 30 mins later brought wrong lobster. Another 15 mins showed up witha lobster that didn't resemble at all what I was ezpecting. See photos for the lobster I was expecting (friend ordered 2 days before) and what I got. Never coming back to this place, bad experience overall.

Entree took over an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. Pieces of the chicken were extremely dried out. Also nowhere to put down your keys, or wallet, tables aren't large enough as it is to comfortably have share plates in the middle, very crowded uncomfortable experience.

We have not been to Spencer’s since the renovation and we were not as impressed as we used to be. The food was good but not worth the price of brunch. We did not feel the food was the same quality it used to be. Our waitress was not very attentive. When we ordered drinks, my husband ordered a bottle of beer and we were not told that it was not included in the buffet price.

Don’t count the appointment time, count the arrival time as the traffic is out of control. I came half an hour late. So I must finish my lunch in 1.5 hour, so rush

Food was very good as always. Great view of the lake and the patio was pretty quiet noise wise.
Service was lacking as our waiter took a long time to bring water on a hot August night.
Never checked on how our meal was or asked if we wanted another glass of wine once the first glass was finished. I indicated in the booking that it was for my wife's birthday but this was never acknowledged in a minor dessert or in anyway by the waiter.

Food is so tasty. I recommend the calamari, burger, fish tacos and french fries. Surprisingly, there is something I like better than McDonalds french fries. My husband will come back next time with out adult kids. Maybe I will try their mussel dish next time. It looks good.

Food was unimpressive but most outstanding was the poor service. Waiter was rude, slow and condescending.

Three of us had the linguine with lobster. Not at all what we expected and the lobster meat was disappointing because of the coating. We all pulled the coating off.

Spencer's is my go to - fancy but not that kind of fancy - place to dine with friends, colleagues and wives. Easily the best view to dine from in Burlington and the food always impresses. I've enjoyed many meals here through the years and will continue to return.

Great experience at Spencers, we wanted to celebrate our anniversary there, and the staff were welcoming and service was really good, nothing seemed too much trouble, food was great, cocktails amazing, looking forward to going back there for lunch/dinner! View was pretty awesome too.

Great night which started out a little shaky as we wanted to sit on the patio as this was our 1st time at Spencer's. We were told they couldn't accomodate our table of 6 but then a lovely girl at the front made it happen for us, thank you! Service on the patio was amazing! No complaints. The food was good, but I think there's room for improvement. Overall, a great night.

It might have been a fluke that the food was a big disappointment to my other visits there (a few years ago), which were outstanding in food taste and quality. This time it was so below my expectations that I am still surprised. If it had been my first time there, its unlikely I would go back. I feel badly about this review, but what happened to you guys??

We were very disappointed with our lunch yesterday at Spencers. We love the restaurant/location but
since Chef Andrew McLeod left the kitchen a number of years ago the food has gone downhill. We come back from time to time to hopefully be in love with the food there again but are still left out in the cold.
In the past we loved the care and attention to the food chosen, the flavours and the variety. We'd order 5 or 6 appetizers just so that we could enjoy all the wonder flavours. We spoke of this restaurant often and recommended it to all we knew. Not anymore.

Our experience yesterday was a simple one but handled very badly by the chef,. We ordered mussels and frites and upon presentation we called the waiter back and told him that the mussels were very badly overcooked and could he please speak to the chef and have them redone. He returned to the table with the mussels and stated that the chef had picked out the ones he thought were overcooked and sent them back ----- mussels were about the same and now cold. My husband has been in fine dining in Toronto and surrounding areas all his life and we have never seen something handled so poorly.

We will never return to Spencers. Very bad for a place that was once so wonderful,.

Your lunch menu is not good. We all (3) had trouble finding something to order.
I don''t eat much red meat but the hamburger was the only thing that appealed at all to me.
It turned out to be very good. One friend had the fish taco and didn't enjoy it - not much fish
and the taste was mediocre.

We have been to Spencer's Sunday Brunch many times and it doesn't disappoint. This time however, some of the food items were a miss. Overcooked or undercooked for a few, but overall still pretty good across the board. Service was great, attentive and frequent. Look forward to the next time!

Went on a Thursday evening when it was fairly busy. Paul the waiter was fantastic- knowledgeable and friendly in a genuine way. Unfortunately the food took forever in the kitchen and it turned into an almost hour wait for chicken and pasta. Not ideal. Also kind of annoying that people inside kept playing musical chairs after they sat down, when a patio table became available. It seemed disorderly and disrespectful to the waiters who had already served drinks etc inside.

Patio over looking lake is spectacular. Noise level inside was considerably higher. Outside seating IS weather dependant. While some seats are in a covered area, it can be really hot. Our evening was perfect, weather was moderated by lake and noise level was more than acceptable. Seafood specials were very good. Service was adequate. Parking can be a challenge especially if Spenser's is hosting a wedding. While they have a portion of the parking lot (on west side of restaurant) blocked off, we got the last paring spot.

Oeverall a very pleasant dinner on a beautiful, summer night.

Upon arrival, they allowed us to pick where we wanted to sit, which was pretty cool considering not a lot of restaurants do that. We decided on the outdoor patio which had a very nice view of the waterfront and pond. Our waitress Anne C, was blah, she rarely smiled . She didn’t make conversation. She asked us what we wanted to order and got our food and that was it. Besides Our waitress blahness, the food was very good! I just wish our waitress would have engaged with us a bit more. I get more engagement from pubs and pay less than what I got from Spencer’s. Upon leaving we passed a group of staff near the bar and they were chit chatting away. None of them stopped to say, have a nice day or thank you, they just kept chatting. I gave them 3 stars. Mostly based on the amazing food, and location.
