The Chocolate Avenue show and dinner was very festive. It was labeled for children also but the production could of been more kid friendly with some audience interaction. The show was very long and children were getting bored with just singing. The service was fast, more than accommodating. Food was delicious including my vegetarian meal.
I canceled one of my tickets the day after they charged my card and after 4 phone calls have been unsuccessful in getting a $55 refund.
The Chocolate Christmas show and dinner were both very enjoyable. The Ballroom was decorated tastefully and the show on stage with the singers and dancers was first rate.
The staff were friendly and professional.
Definitely a great venue with great entertainment.
We attended the Dinner and Christmas Show at the Hershey Lodge with friends. The food was very good and the service was excellent at Table #2. The show was outstanding!!! Such energy and talent! We heard rumor that it might be the last year for the dinner and show which would be a shame. But the Red Ballroom was practically empty and there were probably only about 55 people at the event. What a shame because it was so good!
The restaurant and very neat and clean. We were welcome by a courteous staff. My husband
requested a gluten-free menu and the waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable.
He ordered the chocolate barbecue shrimp which was simply delicious. The waiter was terrific. The lodge and restaurant looked so eloquent at Christmas. Great job everybody-highly recommended!
The Christmas musical was beautiful and the meal was so delicious. The venue was perfect for a romantic date.
Food was good. Cooked perfectly. The musical was very good. I have been going to this show for three years and this was our favorite one.
Room was decorated nicely for Christmas. Performers came out a sang various Christmas Songs as we ate our appetizers. Appetizers were a variety of cheeses, meats, etc. There was a cash bar. Drink prices were reasonable. Overall value of the dinner was low for the $55 per person charge. Portion sizes were small - Baked Stuffed chicken - especially the desert. Family sitting at our table had 3 children. Each child's meal cost $30 and was chicken tenders with mac and cheese. Same meal at Chocolate World cost less than $10. Show was dancing and singing and was done well.
The show and dinner were both fantastic, the staff was also fantastic they can't go enough out of there way for there guests. I asked a young lady, that I guess was the supervisor of the dinner and show a question, she answered right away and seen that everything run smoothly, I sorry I don't get her name, but was trying to get the sweet light s in that night too. one of the best staff that a place can have. that makes people come back and tell friends. every business I went to in Hershey were friendly and the town and everything was clean. you can tell people takes pride in Hershey.
We have been going to the Christmas show for the last several years or more. We always have a wonderful time. Food and show are always great.
It was my first time at the Hershey Motor Lodge dinner theater. Food was good, service great and show very first rate. Would do it again and have already recommended it to several friends.
The Christmas dinner show at Hershey Lodge was excellent in every way. The 4 course meal was delicious, the service phenomenal, and the show was comparable to Broadway. I could do it year after year! It was a great way to kick off the holiday season!
This was an enjoyable Holiday Experience that the children loved. The show was really geared towards children. I did however feel that choosing the only person of color as both the Candyman and Dominic The Donkey, was truly a faux pas, that I would appreciate the director correcting in the future.
The chef went out of his way to accommodate dietary allergies.
The Christmas show was very entertaining and the food was very good. Our waiter was exceptional. The one issue I have with all of this was we reserved through OpenTable for 2 people. Once the tickets were paid for and received it was then stated that it was a table of 10 and we may be sitting with people we don't know. This should have been advertised prior to the booking being made and the tickets being paid for, especially when there could be some not so well behaved children at the table.
Loved everything about the dinner and show!! Highly Recommend!
Way too expensive for what it was ... Food was fair ... Stuffing was laden with salt , salad and dessert was great .. Service was great. Show was kinda cheesey with poor sound system ... Lower the price and you might get more business
It was a wonderful holiday meal with a "play" during dinner. We enjoyed it all. A nice holiday meal
This was our 4th time to be at Hershey's Christmas Dinner show. We always have a wonderful time there but this time, we didn't like the show as much as used be. It was more like a Christmas Singing show. We expected like a musical style show instead...
The foods was o.k. Their cake was much better than last year!!!
Took my family for a show and a meal. They were able to accommodate our 94 year old hard of hearing grandmother as well as my 10 month old grandson. It was a wonderful experience for all ages and the dinner was delicious.
The table was over-crowded and the gentleman sitting next to me had an overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke embedded in his clothing, which interfered with the enjoyment of the meal. There was also a high chair for the small child sitting at our table which force us to cram are seats closer together to make room for this extra seat. Never again.
Food was very good, variety OK except that there were 4 slices of chicken breast, the one on top and bottom were tender and the two in the middle were tough.
Very hospitable server!
The show was fun, but there were a few lip synched parts that annoyed me a little.
The turkey was so tough, I couldn't use a butter knife to cut it. I got so tired of chewing it, I gave up. The rest of the food was good. Most notably, the salad and chocolate cake with cherries were amazing!
All in all, it was a good time, but not worth the ticket price.
Our server was nice but seemed like she had no clue what was going on. Peoples meals were forgotten at our table. The best part of my nighy was the chocolate martini I bought at the bar myself. I would rather skip the meal and just see the show. Wasn't worth the money.
My wife and I brought our two kids to Hershey for their Christmas holiday event. After a wonderful afternoon of watching the kids have a blast on the rides we went back to Hershey lodge to enjoy dinner and a show. The setup was supposed to be a four course meal but the execution was bizarre and rushed. I was never asked if I wanted, nor received a beverage besides the tap water at the table. Salads were fine. The wait staff was friendly but seemed under a lot of pressure. Everything was herky jerky and felt awkward. All of this I could easily get over but the final straw was the main course. I have NEVER had turkey as tough, dry and overcooked as was served to our table. It wasn't just my portion either, there were two other families at our table and we all had the same complaint. Any "chef" that would plate and serve that food is a shame to his profession. I have suspicions that the food was microwaved but regardless it was terrible. For $50 per plate, the experience was simply unacceptable.
We had a good time, the show was good, full of talented people. Food was good, especially dessert and hot chocolate! I would only go back with a group to fill a round table, however. We thought we were going on a romantic date, got a babysitter only to find our table was full of kids so that was disappointing. Fun for a family though
Seen this show a few times. Talent is good however this year's story line was ok at best. Better to focus on the songs and performance than striving to be so different each year that the point of why we attend is lost.
My low rating is primarily due to the food. It's below what you would get at Denny's or Bob Evans. For $55 per person (above 12) I would expect much better. The servers are good and do their best but each year the food gets worse. A few years ago you'd be met with a variety of chocolate and food while mingling before the event. Anyway to save a buck I guess. I know I've said it before but this will be our last Christmas attending.
They served the meal before the singing show. By time show was on, everyone was falling asleep. I love Hershey Lodge, but will never do this again. If it was a serve and watch show, it would be bearable, perhaps slightly fun. Do not bring kids. If you are 80 and going with a group of friends who cannot go outside, then maybe it's a good choice
Unfortunately we were running very late for the show, we had bad directions and the one person had the wrong start time, but we were still treated with great professionalism.
We thoroughly enjoyed this year's new production. The cast was excellent and so friendly after the show. The food was good, too. We are locals, but the crowd came from far and wide. Will definitely return next year.
Our group of four all felt the same way about our experience. We went to a Holiday musical show and the entertainment was wonderful and met our expectations, however the food was not even edible. Two of us ate the salad, rolls and dessart and nothing else. The turkey was dry and the stuffing tasteless. We had two bites and wasted the meal. The other two members of our group picked at their meal because we were all so hungry after our 2 hr drive, but they wasted half of their meal as well.
Not the food quality we had expected from the Hershey Lodge!
The show was very good! The Service was also very good! The main course presentation was nice but, food Lacked quality.... Turkey and stuffing very dry, Veggie's too hard. Potions were way to small! The best part of the meal was the free Hot Chocolate in the lobby on the out from the show.
The show and food were both excellent.
Our table had very friendly visitors which made the program more enjoyable.
The wait staff was excellent in attending to our table's needs very promptly.
We had a very enjoyable night.
The music was great, maybe a bit corny but even so a Christmas show is still very entertaining! Terrific talent. Food was so, so. We weren't expecting much since it was a banquet style dinner. Turkey and dressing were good. Salad and dessert were delicious
Go to see the christmas show.....not the food. The performers were really top notch and that is basically what we were there to see. Our food came out at room temp and the vegetables were barely cooked. The plate had a utilitarian look to it, not dressed to hershey standards.
Good food. Beans and carrots cooked perfectly. Turkey was moist and tender. Best ever hot chocolate at the end of the performance.
The meal needed mashed potatoes. Who has turkey and gravy without mashed potatoes? Last year, there were mashed potatoes and they were excellent. Here is a vote for mashed potatoes for next year's menu.
Pam was our server and she was excellent. Always on top of the meal and friendly as well. Thank you, Pam for helping to make our experience a good one.
Not too impressed. The room is very big & overcrowded. Ten people to a table and sitting back to back, people squeezing past to get in and out. We were seated at the back of the room by the doors, not good. Couldn't get any further away from the stage... Food tasted good , but very minimal. Don't go hungry. The show was all singing, entertaining but Felt it was all overpriced & wouldn't go again.
Great holiday theatre lunch show. Atmosphere was friendly, cute show for the whole family and the food was good as well.
We took our 6 year old grandson and he loved it. Took photos with the cast and the seating was great. We would definitely do this again next year.
This was our second time at the Hershey Lodge for a Christmas dinner theater. It is always a great meal, with great service and an entertaining and professional show that captures the true spirit of Christmas.
The food was good (especially for chcoolate lovers--the dessert, butter and even salad dressing were all cocoa-tinged), and the performances were Broadway quality. We wondered whether it would be worth $55 per person; now we're ready to go back again next year!
After an hour and half the food arrived cold and we had to wait for another adult platter because we were told "the counts were off". This took another 30 mins. We left and ordered room service and let the kids swim at the pool. I was so saddened by this experience. I have done many dinner shows and this was the worst experience
