SPAZIO - Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
The food and service were wonderful. They had decent seating inside and on the outdoor patio, however they had live music which was quite lively. If you were there for drinks and entertainment it would be fine. Dinner and conversation with friends, not so much. All in all we had a good time. The food and service truly were exceptional.
The chicken saltimbocca was delicious. My husband loved the veal Milanese. Definitely try the scoobies and dip your bread in the leftover sauce...delicious!
Great people watching location right on the beach. Entertainment was great... Spanish acoustical guitar accompanied by a flamenco dancer!
My only complaint every time I go... a tip is added to your bill and the waiter never tells you. I believe it's less than 20%, but you are never told. Many people don't realize it and then add 20% on top of that. Now that we know, we only add the additional tip to bring it to 20%, but it is rude that they don't tell you when they lay the bill on the table. So, be warned!
Overall a great time! Would recommend other than the tipping issue.
Food and service good but nothing special. The antipasto appetizer was amazing. We arrive to eat at 9 pm and the music was blaring. We sat inside hoping it would be quieter. We asked several times for it to be turned down so we could have a conversation with our party which they adjusted however minutes later it was turned back up. Overall we had an ok experience.
In Ft. Lauderdale for a girl's trip. This was a last minute choice for a late dinner on Saturday night. If you sit on the patio, there is a great view of the beach. They also have a live band playing, so the patio will be noisier.
All 3 of us ordered different meals, and we each loved it. Delicious!!
I didn't try the massive margarita, but the table next to us said they were fabulous'
The restaurant is well located and we were lucky to be seated soon because they did not have my reservation, why? No idea, however we did not have to wait long to be seated. To start, we ordered the common big margaritas that are served in the area, and they were good actually we were expecting something with less alcohol but it was well mixed. Now the bad part. We order our food and one of the dishes was salmon risotto but we got hard rice with "SMOKED HAM" hahaha is not a joke and actually I didn't know if be furious or laugh and the worst part is that they tried to convince me that it was salmon; however, they couldn't take the strong smoked ham flavor from their "Salmon," in addition, one of the waitress was going to bring a piece of their salmon from the kitchen to compare, but it never happened, maybe because there was no Salmon in the restaurant.
In short, if you want to have drinks this restaurant is same as other restaurants in the area so you have choices, but please do not eat there is expensive for what they give you, so just order quesadillas and drinks.
The seafood was not too fresh. Clams, mussels that came with spaghetti or risotto were tasting too fishy and not well cooked. I tasted the first one and left the rest of it on the plate.
I came to this place because it seems to be a good location (being next to Elbo Room!) but other than that there's nothing too admirable about it.
Also on internet it's advertised as a Latino place but there was no live music, not even music on the Thursday night that we went.
Also for about 10 minutes after we sat down no server identified us. Finally one server just happened to walk past and asked if we had a server, and we said no! So he attended to us. Pretty disorganized if you ask me.
We went for Mother's Day and had a reservation. No problem getting the table cause not full at all, sat inside. The waitress brought our drinks and bread but the food took forever. Also had to tell them to turn down the music cause we had a long table and were yelling across the table to hear each other and for the few of us that were there I am sure we didn't need the music that loud.
Our family enjoyed dinner at Spazio's on March 4, 2017.
The sidewalk seats were enticing but we opted for seats on the raised platform in back since it was quite windy.
There were dinner choices to meet all of our tastes, though most of us ordered fish which was fresh and delicious.
There was an extensive wine list including wine by the glass.
We would definitely go back!
The service was laid back and the food, although good, took longer than usual to make it to our table. The band was loud, so it was difficult to carry on a conversation, even though we were seated close to the rear of the restaurant and the band was at the front. Out waiter was overly friendly to the point of almost being obnoxious. If Spazio toned everything down a bit and decreased the time it took between ordering and receiving an entree, it'd be a very nice place to visit on a regular basis.
We were in Ft Lauderdale for a week and ate at Spazio our first night, then went back for a second meal our last night. We love Italian food and Spazio doesn't disappoint. The al fresco dining gives you a fantastic people watching experience. Add to that, the live "salsa music" and flamenco dancer, you have an energetic dining experience.
For the most part everything was great. However the Chicken Parm I ordered for dinner was not very good. The chicken was chewy and the pasta was bland. I told the waiter I didn't like it and he didn't seem to care much. Everything else we ordered was really good though.
