Spasso Minnetonka Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent, we had the sausage vodka ravioli, and chicken mushroom risotto. Several large groups slowed service a bit, but that was understandable and did not distract from the overall experience. One of our local favorites. Very family friendly as well. Definitely worth trying.
We had a very nice time. The meal was good, we each ordered a pasta dish and the food was delicious. Even though there were quite a few tables around us with large parties, the service was quick and attentive. The prices are good, about what you'd pay for meals at other Italian restaurants, but the food here is better.
We booked this reservation for New Years dinner with our son. We walked in and the restaurant was full of smoke - something must have happened in the kitchen - things happen, but I was surprised that the staff didn’t mention anything about it, apologize, etc. we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. Once seated, service was slow and relatively inattentive.
We had to wait another 10+ minutes for our cocktail. We ordered two apps - one of which we didn’t eat based on its taste - the server never commented on the fact that it was barely touched when they cleared it.
I had the Braised entree, which I’ve had before, this time it was like a salt lick! It was so salty!!
Overall we were very unimpressed with our entrees, which is unfortunate as we’ve been here numerous times.
Based on this New Years Eve experience, we will not be rushing back to Spasso anytime soon!
My wife and I came here for my birthday. Everything was perfect! They had my favorite beer in tap, we ordered a wonderful appetizer - almond crusted warm brie, we both ordered the walleye which the waiter recommended - it was an excellent choice. We also had a glass of wine and dessert - chocolate cake, which was also fabulous. Al-in-all an outstanding experience. We would definitely come here again. Last year, we went to a much more expensive restaurant in downtown Minneapolis and we were treated much better at Spasso and the food was much better at Spasso also.
Food was good enough, scrambled eggs with white cheddar is delicious, and the waffles are made fresh. However, our waiter was subpar, we had to ask him multiple times to fill our water and coffee. At one point, we had someone else’s waiter ask if we needed anything because our waiter walker right by us. Not the end of the world, and honestly, the waiter was a nice guy. Just kind of annoying after the second or third time of asking. Love dem eggs though!!
We enjoyed dining at Spasso with another couple. We were seated promptly and our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Happy hour applies throughout the restaurant so we started with discount drinks and a couple great apps. Pizzas and salads were great and we never felt rushed. Great place. Be sure to try the gelato - birthday cake flavor!
Spasso was lively as usual- very nice atmosphere. Hostess and wait staff were very friendly and caring. Drinks and food were excellent. I have been there several times and have not been disappointed. Great place to meet friends for drinks and appetizers, dinner and special occasions. I had a birthday party there. No negatives here except it is so popular that it is often very crowded.
This was our first time dining at Spasso and we won’t be back nor would we recommend this restaurant to anyone. The price of the cocktails wasn’t listed but the waitress told us everything was $8/each - when the bill came though, drinks were $10/each. I ordered the chicken parmesan and my husband ordered the gnocchi. Both had zero flavor and relied on the heavy cream sauce way today much. I didn’t want a creamy dish and the waitress said the chicken parmesan and the pasta it sat on were covered in a red sauce. The chicken had a very small amount of red sauce and the pasta was covered in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Last, we were rushed in and out of our table within 30 minutes start to finish. We pay partly for a dining experience. We would have been better off going to a fast casual place. Dishes were overpriced for the poor quality being produced. We would happily pay their price or more if the food was better. Will not go back here again.
We've been here several times and in the past really enjoyed our food. This last time though the food was not good. We ordered the $14 tenderloin tips appetizer and they were tiny and over done. A shame because we've had them before and they were large cuts and juicy. Hopefully this is just a one off. The truffle fries were pretty good though. Their kids meals are all $8 which seems high for a tiny bowl of pasta, but they do get gelato with it so I guess that helps. We will be back and hopefully the food will be better again.
The food was truly outstanding for the price point. We got there before the dinner rush so we had about a half hour of quiet conversation before it became difficult to hear each other. The service was poor. Our server had difficulty remembering the menu, never came back to fill water glasses, and overcharged us for happy hour drinks and dessert. Thankfully Spasso's style is to support each other's tables when you have time, so the other servers were able to help and were awesome. We'd definitely come back but we'd make sure we aren't served by the same man.
My husband and I often go to Spasso on Friday evenings. We get there in time to take advantage of the Happy Hour specials. One thing we love to do is pick out a bottle of wine next door and bring it in the restaurant to enjoy. We have yet to have anything but great service! My husband's burger was a bit overcooked last time, but nothing horrible. My parm truffle wings were perfect!
The two of us checked in a few minutes apart and were led to different booths on either side of the divider. We texted each other after 15 minutes to check on ? arrival and discovered we were both already there. The young guy at the check in desk needs to be more attentive....
Food, service and ambiance were all very good.
