Excellent Italian food . Chicken parm was crispy and delicious. Gnocchi was great. Friendly neighborhood place
It was a welcome relief to dine in at
Spasso. I was very tired of my own
cooking, almost desperate to get out of the house. My dinner partner was
likewise in need of time out. I ordered
bruschetta which we shared, the big
pork chop dinner went down easily. She enjoyed the veal and tartufo, I
had the tiramisu. She offered a slice
of her choc/vanilla ice cream dessert,
but, while it was calling me I know my
limitations. We had pleasant conversation over wine, she had merlot
I had pino noir. It was a welcome redemption from our incarcerations
and we gabbed on like old pre-Covid days. We are returning customers although it had been awhile- the restaurant was in top form in all categories. A brief respite in the scope
of things. I had many favorites in your
fine restaurant, namely your red snapper with capers, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and seasonings, among other listings still on the menu.
Thank you for the pleasure of renewing old acquaintances:)
First time there with a friend and overall ok. I ordered the Veal & Crabmeat. It came out too fast and taste like chicken. I might go back picking a different meal.
I had a delicious piece of fish called be a SA. And all the rest of the food seems fresh. The only thing I noticed but it’s not bad is that the small appetizer they give you in the beginning the egg plant seems to have lost a little bit of a special taste
Excellent fresh pasta, every bite was delicious & authentic!
Food and service were excellent. It is very reasonably priced for the quality.
food and drinks were great had the paloma and the sangria. food never disappoints. server could have been a bit more attentive but it didnt distract from the meal.
I have missed coming here. Everything was fantastic. The food was wonderful, as always. They make the best basa. The staff is always the perfect amount of attentive.
The food is always great and the service exceptional. Sam our waiter was very attentive. Their Tuesday night dinner and wine special is a great deal.
Always delicious food, great portions, excellent service. Everything was done safely, with Covid protocols followed. We’ll definitely return! Thank you!
Great customer service and food outstanding.
My server was great
One of our favorite spots! Always a great meal at a great price.
Hands down best authentic Italian I've ever had.
Food and service were fantastic!
Hi overall was very good exp and I would and have recommended
Service was great, food was amazing!
Me and fiancé went together for a date night. We had outdoor seating because it was a nice night out, and didn't want to be too cooped inside the restaurant. There was nice spacing and all the servers wore masks to adhere to Covid protocols and regulations. We went during restaurant week so we had the opportunity to try a four course meal. I had the mussels for the appetizer, pasta in-between, main course I had veal Parmesan (which I ended up boxing to take home), and for dessert I had a delicious.. creme brûlée. The drinks were really strong! and I left happy. Would definitely go again.
Service and food was excellent. Portions were a nice size and definitely tasted authentic
Dined in for restaurant week and the food was phenomenal! I don’t like meatballs and tried my fiancé’s and was pleasantly surprised! the pasta was fresh and the sauces were flavorful and robust. we will definitely be returning.
Service was deplorable! Asked for bread it never! Server said he would be right back with fresh cheese for our pasta he never came back. He never asked how anything was!!
Horrible experience for our first time in the city
I have been going to Spasso for over 20 years and I am never disappointed. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it!
The food is always good at Spasso, but what made this experience special was the OUTSTANDING service we received from Daniel. He was by far the best server we have ever had at this restaurant! He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive....all the things you hope for when you choose to dine out.
This might just be my new favorite Italian restaurant in philly! Went for restaurant week Sept 2020 and got to be seated inside!!! It felt very safe and not over crowded at all, it was nice to finally sit inside & feel like normal times. The restaurant week deal was app, small pasta tasting, entree & dessert. My group & I got the clams in white sauce and fried calamari, both great. We then got the small pasta tasting which was just penne with red sauce, fun to try. For entrees I personally got Linguine with Clams, I truly have never tasted fresher pasta in my life! It was like eating dough, the clams were great & so was the sauce but the pasta itself was the main character. My friends then got Crabmeat Ravioli & Linguine Ponza which they both really enjoyed. Finally we ended with cheesecake & chocolate mouse cake which you could just tell was homemade. All so amazing and I highly suggest going for your next Italian meal!
Great service and tasty food!9
The food was not up to the standard we remember. The short rib pasta tasted like beef stew and the seafood linguine was like eating red water. The mussels red was similarly watery and tasteless. The best part was the grilled calamari and the desserts (choc. mousse cake and cannoli)
The staff was excellent. Very attentive and polite. Everything we ordered tasted great.
My favorite Italian restaurant EVER!!!!!! The food, service, drinks are all INCREDIBLE!!! Love this place!
Perfect date night restaurant. Service was nice and food was good and the drinks perfect.
Perfect dining here. We Went during Covid restaurant week. Everything felt safe(distanced seating, staff wore masks, clean). Our server was great(so were busboys). Food was delicious as always. Highly recommended!
we went during restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of options. Italian is not our number #1 choice but I have to say the food was OUTSTANDING! absolutely would go back. Restaurant was clan and they practiced social distancing.
Service was great, never had to ask for somethng it was already served, nice restaurant, friendly staff.
really good food and service! would definitely recommend.
It was my boyfriends birthday!
The service was fast and attentive, the food was excellent!
Our reservation was at 7pm we did not get our meal until at least 8:45. Very, very slow service and restuarant was not even full due to Covid-19. One waiter made a rude comment to someone in my party. Food was not good and wait time was horrible.
This was a dinner date for Philadelphia's Fall 2020 Restaurant Week. We selected this restaurant based on their availability, indoor dining option (it was too cold at night to dine outdoors) and various food selections. Many restaurants choose to offer 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 desserts as part of their menu but not Spasso's. We were able to select from many wonderful options and we even added some options on. Starting with the appetizers all the way through dessert, each selection was phenomenal (meatballs, eggplant rollatini, crab ravioli, etc) and so was the service. Each course came out in just the perfect time as if it were perfectly timed. We decided that we are now lifelong fans of Spasso's and will be returning again in the very near future. Thank you for a wonderful date night experience!!!
The food was delicious and it was a great deal for restaurant week! Will be going back!
My friends and I dined at Spasso for a girls night out during restaurant week. Our food was very good. However, the service could have been better. We were among the last few people in the restaurant and it seemed that staff and servers were more focused on preparing the restaurant for closure than serving guests.
Food was great as we did the restaurant week menu option. Due to covid it seemed like they were understaffed so it took a while for the entrees to come out but otherwise everything else came out timely. Would recommend!
