I had a wonderful time as usual. The food was delicious!
Great food! Amazing deserts made in house! Perfect Italian fare at a great price
The mussels in the white sauce was amazing they really should make the sauce into a soup. That was the best I ever had in my life
Food is always consistently good. Pasta is cooked el dente and the seafood is fresh. Great service. Great location. I am a frequent diner.
Don't go to any restaurant in Philly till you go here.
Problem is you may no what to go anywhere else.
It is that good.
We went to Spasso for our 26th wedding anniversary on a Wednesday evening. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Right away the waiter suggested the special offer for Wednesday which turned out to be a great value and came with a bottle of wine! Food was excellent! Definitely planning a return trip.
This was out anniversary dinner. I’ve eaten there many times on business trips, but my wife had never been there. It was the prefect choice. Our food was excellent. The wine was great and reasonable. Our server was wonderful - available, but not hovering over us. If I’m in Philly, I’ll be at Spasso.
It was great to get back to Spasso. Food and service was great!!
Great time as always
Awesome food and the price was very reasonable. Will go back again.
As always with Spasso, a perfect meal. We had the grilled calamari, which I have yet to have anywhere as good as Spasso. Gorgonzola salad and the goat cheese walnut salad. Entrees were penne Spasso and the Branzino. Everything was perfect.
The food was amazing and came out quickly. Staff was friendly.
The service was amazing and the food was even better. Everything came out in a timely matter and was amazing.
The food was good and the service was great. Everything we tried was good
I go every tuesday from NJ...it is totally worth the trip
I selected this restaurant because others in Center City were totally booked on the evening we wanted to dine. Having never been there before, I didn't know what to expect. The person who greeted us at the door at first was somewhat gruff and spent a good minute looking at a dining room with two obviously open tables then seating us at one of them. She then explained that "this is the best Italian restaurant in Philly," making me wonder whether it was just blather or a self-confident assessment of the menu.
The service was good; the waiter explained that it might take longer than normal to get plates to the table, since the restaurant was not yet fully staffed. We weren't bothered by this, since we planned to spend most of the evening talking at the table. The waitstaff was attentive and we never had to flag anyone down to refill drinks or get anything else.
We ordered grilled squid for an appetizer, which was properly prepared and generally tender. It was served with butter and greens. I ordered a tomato basil soup, which was not a bisque but rather a consommé and lightly herbed. It was delicious.
We skipped the wine list, which appeared to be substantial and had good variety, and instead drank bottled beer, of which we had a wide selection.
I had the piatto del giorno which on that day was flank steak rolls with fettucine. I added a side of sauteed spinach. The beef was tender, the pasta cooked al dente, and the spinach had just enough garlic, but not overwhelmingly so. The portions were substantial; two people could share one side dish and still be satisfied.
This restaurant is somewhat out of the way, on Front Street in the Old City, but worth the trip. Parking might actually be easier than in Center City, since Front Street has parking on both sides, but businesses on only one side at this address. We arrived by SEPTA, which has a station nearby. It was a good experience overall and I will return to this establishment when I have a chance.
They were painfully understaffed, but post-pandemic it’s not surprising. Pasta was excellent, grilled shrimp perfectly cooked. Not a romantic or quiet spot.
Too big of a menu, not specializing on any particular one item, but service was great.
Ate here for restaurant week. Food was delicious! Highly recommend.
The food was prepared to perfection. The restaurant week menu was a 4 course meal with an appetizer, small pasta dish, entree & dessert for $35 per person, a tremendous value. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended great value quality food.
The mussels were great and portions large. We love the penne in tomato sauce. Also, the pappardelle with short rib was delicious.
Salads very good. Branzino delicious. Chocolate mousse cake unbelievable!
It was a great selection of menu even though it was a restaurant week. All the food was delicious.
reservation was made for 4.
5 showed up. They accommodated up. We sat sat by the bar.
The food was good. Service was good.
Ambience was good.
Yes, I would gladly return
Noticeably skimpy on bread & butter
Waiter aloof & not very helpful but kept a close eye on our table. Food was excellent
We enjoyed our dinner and it was worth the visit!!! This was my 2nd time and my Boyfriend's first. He was totally satisfied.
After a harrowing day deciding whether I should get prescription lenses and all sorts of much ado about mothing, I was hungry, tired, and my feet hurt so I went to my fav
restaurant for lunch, Spasso's on Front St.
Sat outside and enjoyed the roses across the way, the beautiful vista of Ben Franklin bridge...the excellent service and perfect cocktail
fine food (linguini with shrimp and crabmeat)
followed by a Sambuca..so good with floating coffee beans
ahhh...my feet no longer hurt.....walk the 10 blocks home...a lovely sunny day...my feet hurt...so what? La vita e bella!
Tried this place for restaurant week. Food was delectable. Good portion sizes. Wine was excellent. Would def go there again
Came here for Restaurant Week- definitely worth it!! So much food for $35 dinner. The food was so tasty too! We got a beautiful/secluded outdoor table (which is what we were hoping for). Service was amazing as well!
Everything was excellent... This was our 2nd time here for Restaurant Week and it was even better than the first time last year! Definitely will be back! and our waiter, Cosmi, was awesome!
Great selection and portions for restaurant week! Not to crowed and very spaced out. Really friendly staff and delicious food.
Authentic Italian cuisine. Incredibly food, staff and atmosphere.
We come from NJ to dine here every tuesday and they never disappoint. Great menu, Great value, excellent service...they have it all.
It was OK I ordered linguine shrimp And crab meat the Crab meat was hardly there if they’re at all and the lady at the front desk may have been a hostess or the owner never came up to our table once to see how things are very disappointing from the last time I was there. And they asked me why was I coming and I said it was a date not one person asked me about that
Very good all around experience.
I took my daughter here after her graduation, it’s one of her favorite places to eat, we had a great time and a great meal, everyone there is so friendly.
Our first meal back after a tiring year. Everything was fabulous!
Great food and service, lovely ambiance, reasonable price! Will come back again!
