Unfortunately, I had to cancel my reservation. So, this review is for the time I went to lunch. Which was very good. This part is for the dinner reservation. When I called to make reservations, the phone went straight to voicemail twice. I called at after 6PM . I thought that was very strange that there was nobody to answer calls. So I changed my mind ,thinking the restaurant went out of business. Is the restaurant still under same management as last year?? I have a feeling it isn't. Depending on your answer, I will try it once again. Too bad, I was really looking forward to it.
When we arrived at the restaurant it was closed, even though we had a confirmed reservation through OpenTable. This was a big inconvenience.
THIS RESTAURANT WAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED WHEN WE GOT THERE!!!
Spazzo was closed and open table did not show that it's closed till September
This restaurant is closed, even though Open Table is still making reservations. We drove over there and paid for parking and the chairs are on the tables and it's half empty. A hostess at the restaurant next door said there was a change of chefs and the restaurant is rumored to be opening again in September, but it's a mystery. And, people keep coming up expecting it to be open.
I find it outrageous to be asked for a review! We called Open Table, made a reservation and got a confirmation number. We arrived and found the restaurant closed, locked and deserted. If your company is in the reservations business I suggest you develop some way of keeping track of restaurant openings and closings, including emergency events. A simple EM, phone call or message warning us not to come would have avoided this unpleasantness and saved our evening out.
I planned a special day with friends to include brunch at Spasso's, only to arrive and find out that it was closed. Open table allowed me to book at a closed restaurant. Forced us to eat at Lulu's which was great.
This was my first time coming to their brunch. Staff was very attentive and gave us great service. Brunch is a buffet and they have $15 bottomless mimosassssssssss! What more could you want?
Loved the outdoor patio, food selection was limited but of excellent quality ( we loved the carving station with the prime beef!), service staff was professional and efficient but should have had more wait staff especially for Father's day Sunday brunch. We enjoyed the entertainment and music. Would definitely come back again!
We went here for Father's Day brunch and the food was amazing!!! Loved the chicken and waffles! The live music was also a big plus and added to our positive experience. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
Not what I expected, fish was described with canneloni beans and arugala .
No taste in fish , beans were just thrown in no flavor .
Price for pasta 30. Fish 22??? How is that fish less expensive then pasta go figure .
Will not return much better restaurants then that .
Spasso hosts "A feed your soul" brunch on Sunday. Catered by Amaris Jones and Chef Irie. Great flavors on the buffet like Shrimp & grits, jerk chicken, skirt steak and catfish. A la carte there is chicken & waffles and much more. Bottomless mimosa for $15. Awesome birthday celebration!
Too loud and disorganized. Don't think I will dine there again.
Went for mother's day brunch. They advertised Italian fiair type of food and flavor. The only Italian item were meatballs. BAD experience, will never come back. If you really know your Italian food...do your self a favor... don't go!
Fabulous authentic Italian
Everything was fresh and delicious
White table cloths
Rises and lavender on each table
Chef was delightful
As always a wonderful meal. We love the crab cakes. The Short ribs were delicious. Thanks Chef for always giving us a yummy meal.
An ideal Italian spot in the Grove. Fresh ingredients, chef eager to please and make any adjustments requested. Valet parking available. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Looking forward to returning.
Excellent food and service. Authentic Italian cuisine. Chef took the time to talk to us.
Excellent service and very accommodating to a large table. Food was well prepared and delicious.
A late evening get together - Great food, great service, great fun!
I have been to Spasso several times now and every time the food is awesome and the service is great! This was the first time I have eaten outside and other than a few unwanted guests (bugs), it was beautiful!
Great service. The owner visits the tables during the evening.
A really great night! The bed is engaging and funny and the staff were all wonderful. The food was great. Best time out in a while thanks to the great people there.
Good selection and variety
Fabulous crab cakes
Chef very accommodating to modifications
Reasonable valet parking option
Food was GREAT! Pasty, good portions, really exceeded expectations. The problem was the service was not that good. If the service was better it would have been a 5! The outside dinning was really nice and the indoor seating and bar was very nice!
We decided to go back to Spasso's to see if our Valentine's Day dinner was an anomaly. We asked to be seated with Sigourney as our waitress (best waitress ever) and every selection we made was superb! The Chef and the Manager both remembered us and treated us like royalty. Spasso's is a wonderful, friendly restaurant with a menu (and specials) that are out of this world. Just be sure to ask for a table "outside" as inside seating does not have the same open air, romantic feel in the air.....and we learned that even if Sigourney is working inside, you can ask for her AND be seated outside. We are very much at home here and it has become our go to restaurant!

Spasso was a delightful surprise! Honestly, I was looking for a last minute Valentine's Day reservation for my wife and I when much to my surprise, I came upon Spasso's on Open Table with open reservation times. Much more, I came to learn, than it ever deserved. There shouldn't have been a single open table! We were greeted immediately by the nicest and I'd venture to say one of the best waitresses I've ever been served by, Sigourney. Within five minutes, the General Manager introduced himself followed five minutes later by the Head Chef. Not hello, have a nice evening but a full engaging discussion including decanting and pouring our wine all evening by the GM and complete insight to the menu by the top guy in the kitchen. Everything we ate that evening was outstanding, the service spectacular and even the outdoor seating on a "somewhat" busy street tuned out entirely. And after 25+ years of marriage and being almost ready for Medicare it wasn't all cupid and the arrows blinding us to a great meal and a really fabulous location. Call, ask for an outside table in front of the window to the restaurant and ask for Sigy. Beautiful (and married with beautiful children) Sigourney. You cannot be disappointed!
Disappointed. Was expecting homemade pasta, but definitely did not receive that. Sauce was good, but pasta not so much.
The food was great, as well as the service. Was really impressed that the chef Gaetano came out to check on the tables, and took the time to talk with us. Very enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely return! Also kudos to the bartender on the craft cocktails!
The service was great, accommodating. The three of us ordered three dishes and one appetizer. All were very good. We were able to sit outside on their nice patio on a quiet evening. We weren't expecting a great meal so it was a wonderful surprise. We will be back.
This was our 2nd visit. The 1st time we walked in when they 1st opened and since then had been meaning to go back. Both time the food was very good, unfortunately this last time the service was poor and inattentive. Granted that it was New Year's Day and they only had one server & one bus boy, but the restaurant was not packed. An acknowledgement such as will be with you shortly would have been welcomed. You bring a bottle of white wine to the table, he customer should not have to ask for an ice bucket. You look at the table and there is no silver ware, you bring it. On top of that 20% gratuity added. Will give it another try since the food was very good.
Best crab cakes this side of Maryland! Great food, authentic and great service.
First time visit. Great meal with great service to match. Food was delicious and the wine list offered a reasonable value-set of options. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the night air. Chef came by the table multiple times to check to make sure everything was to our liking. Highly recommend.
We have recently relocated to Miami and found the food the best Italian we have had locally and on par with the best we've had in the Northeast. Selections are great, portions balanced and the chef is very passionate about his food. We will be making Spasso a regular stop.
Ate here for first time on Christmas Eve. Chef came by multiple times, warm and engaging. Made great recommendations, crab cake was terrific. Ricotta cheese cake to end was perfect. This place is great. I'm really picky when it comes to Italian food and this place will now be my new go to in Miami. Waited a long time for a place like this!
We were warmly greeted by the hostess, while she was checking the tables, the chef came out and seated us. It was later so it wasn't too crowded. He suggested the perfect bottle of wine for us. Our caprese appetizer came out as quickly as we ate it. It was prepared with quality mozzarella and thick tomatoes. My husband ordered the fish of the day, swordfish, and he enjoyed the portion size and the meal. I had the funghi risotto which came out fresh and hot. Risotto can be tricky but this was a balance of softness and crunch. We are thrilled to have stumbled across it and will definitely recommend to friends and be back ourselves.
This was my second experience eating a Spasso and I enjoyed it as much as the first! I visit Miami regularly and will be back!
The best restaurant, service was excellent and food superb
