I hadn't been here in a long time. I was very disappointed in the food; our steaks were tough, not juicy or flavorful, and clearly not worth the $57.95 price tag.
The servers were just fine.
We had lunch on Tuesday and everything was delicious. The service was hand on but not overbearing. The wine list was amazing and extensive. There were limited choices for our entree but we knows that ahead of time and we’re going there for the steak. The steaks were probably the best I have ever had and I eat at a lot of steakhouses across the country especially in NYC. These were amazing. Pricey but awesome.
No room for dessert so I have no comments but overall I would recommend this restaurant for a special meal or event.
Great service and steaks. Very pricey.
I’ve been a patron for over forty years. Ii is my favorite steak house in the country. Get the NY Strip, mushroom caps and by all means the hash browns. Get horseradish on the side for your medium steak and you are in heaven.
Say hi to Abdul and check out all the ladies in short skirts.
It’s a NY event!
I love it.
Service was non-existent. After our meal - filet was brought to the table. No one ever came back to see if was cooked ok, if we needed anything. We had to flag them down to get another glass of wine. There was an intoxicated lady who sang a nursery rhyme loudly off and on nearby for about 10 minutes before someone came and said something to them. In every single steakhouse I have been to, service is 100 percent better. Wish I didn’t waste a special night here . Non existent is not good.
Great steak restaurant but a bit pricey. Very attentive service and old-fashioned decor.
One of my favorite restaurants in the City. Great food and wine list. I love the Chilean sea bass, Strip, crab meat, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I usually have some of these options when I dine there.
My most recent trip in I ordered the strip and my associate went with the sea bass. Don’t forget to end the meal with a slice of cheesecake and a double espresso to tap off a perfect dining experience.
Excellent service and extremely fast.
Great great great great great great great great great great great
Food was a perfect 10. The host was very accommodating and service was fantastic. The only thing. was our waiter was not too warm and needed to crack a smile. Overall the restaurant was a nice dining experience.
Phenomenal food, possibly the best steak in the 5 Burroughs, clear cut superior to Peter Luger's, right there with Keen's. Great bourbon selection, great sides and if you love blue cheese, the steak fromage is a MUST or get the sirloin served fromage.
The food was fabulous. We had Combination of Baked Clams & Shrimp Scampi as the appetizer and Prime Sirloin Steak as entrees. Both exceeded our expectation. I would definitely give a five-star rating for the food. But we waited to be seated for extra almost 40 minutes even with a reservation. Everybody was seated according to when they came to the restaurant no matter they have a reservation or not. Then why bother having a reservation? Minus one star for the long wait.
There was absolutely no point in booking a table with a reservation. Had to put my name in with everyone else who walked in the door. Waited over an hour in the bar for my name. Busy night because of valentine's day, but service was the worst out of the 10-12 times I've been there. I hope they improve the staff. The food, as always, was excellent.
I knew what to expect on Valentine Day and the "chaotic" Maitre D and male hostess at the door were rushing people in and out even with a confirmed reservation we got seated almost 45 min past our time. Mark was friendly but Abdouhl was simply cussing clients out. Limited choice of meats but we knew what to expect and went for the Sirloin at $54 pp with the caesar salad and hash brown sides. Temperature was perfect and service was spot on by Miguel our server. Bread roll was mediocre and the butter was still frozen. We did notice some waiters fighting over some issue by the bussing station and one got shoved in pretty hard and cursed in Spanish. This should not happen in the dining room irregardless of the reason behind it. Keep the drama private or behind the kitchen doors but at $200 per couple this is not a roadhouse. Now, the meat of my wife was too salty to her liking and the end darker but mine was very tender so it's a question of taste I reckon. The atmosphere was fun, plenty of 30's-40's year old celebrating VD and a few business people given that we are close to Grand Central. I still think that Keen is better. Right on par with Peter Lugger without the exorbitant bill at the end.
Everything was amazing! Absolutely recommend this to any and everyone!
I live in Boston I'm in NY almost every year for work on Valentines Day.
For the last 4 years been going to Sparks for Valentines Day.
Usually been great.
This year however not so good.
40 minutes late for reservations
Food came out cold
Waiter never came back to check with us.
Complained when he gave me the bill
Nothing done but was also not looking for anything.
