Outstanding service and food. Highly recommend. Very professional staff.
Very basic steakhouse. Husband had the halibut. It was fresh but very boring. Just simply broiled not grilled. Mushroom caps, the same, boring just salt and pepper. My Shrimp was just ok. We could have been better off w/o this meal. But the service was good.
Been dining at Sparks for years.
Always have and will be: BEST STEAK IN NEW YORK.
I took my wife to Sparks for an Anniversary dinner. Spark's was recommended to me from a friend who said he often went there on business meals.
We arrived an hour ahead of our reservation and checked in before heading to the bar. Mike helped us make our drink decision; a feat made difficult by a dizzying array of Spirits being offered.
Once seated, the entire wait staff made us feel we were their only guests that night. I can't say enough to express how good the service was.
And then came the food. Dear Lord. Not only was everything fabulously prepared but also the portions were huge. And, the wine selections were just as vast as the whiskey selections.
To top off an already great night, the waiter brought us a chocolate dessert 'on the house' to finish our Anniversary celebration.
Oh what a night! Bravo!
Historic place. Huge portions. Solid wine list, not the best steak place but historic. Yep
A true landmark and NYC iconic Steakhouse. Waiters are old school and are true professionals . I love going there because of the service, ambiance and food. Martini's are outstanding as well as their wine list.
Great and great! The Service was outstanding - professional waiters are rare these days but when you get them you’re in for a great evening!
Steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. Service at the bar was outstanding. Bartenders were friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great cooked oysters
Over all a great dinner with FABULOUS service. Everyone seemed to REALLY care that we enjoyed the evening and especially the food. We definitely will return.
Excellent visit the food was impeccable, service comical and drinks were fantastic
A totally classic still going strong. A trip back to the very best of the 60s/70s.
BEST steak dinner I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend Sparks to anyone visiting the city.
It was birthday post broadway show meal.
Delish but steaks are more like roasts. Come hungry!
Always good food and service. Great w8ne list. Hard to choose another steakhouse.
Had 20 people from around the USA and France, everything was TOP Notch, cannot say enough about this FOOD and SERVICE
Outstanding service by everyone, from the cordial greeting at the front door by the Maitre de, and all our services! We had a wonderfully delicious dinner after. The lamb chops & steak were perfectly seared to the requested temperature. I could have cut them with a fork. Extremely tender! The wine list is also outstanding!
It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day we had at a special event. Thank you for the Birthday cake as well. Absolutely delicious. Who can resist chocolate & berries?!

Spark's is a typical NYC expensive steakhouse. The food is good and the service very attentive; but shouldn't it be that way for $150 per person.? If you are looking for value you are in the wrong place. Everything on the menu is top dollar. While I expected the steaks to be premium priced, I was a bit annoyed that the lowest price bottle of red wine was $75.
Its a real testosterone joint and good for business dinners, but I won't be bringing my wife back anytime soon.
The best steaks in town. I brought business men from Europe, they enjoyed the steaks.
It was fine.
Celebrated our 15year anniversary, flew in from out of town very well worth it will be back the next time in town.
First time experience at sparks restaurant! Food and service 1st class. Al our waiter was very hospitable and he was extremely attentive. Quality of the steaks was exceptional. Would highly recommend.
It was pretty much what I expected...A real New York steakhouse experience with great food and service. Noisy, busy and vibrant!
Always top notch. I find the steaks taste better and are larger portions than some of the other big name steakhouses.
it went OVER any and all expectations. It truly was an EXCELLENT experience and you get the vibe, that is HOW THEY DO THINGS! they make everyone feel special.
Aside from incredibly tasting food, the service was impeccable and the evening was great. I ranked lower in value because $750 for 4 people is a bit excessive...nonetheless, I will return as dining at Sparks is a great experience.
I've always wanted to dine at Sparks, partly for it's notoriety (Paul Castellano hit in 1985) and partly because I heard the steaks are amazing. Dined there with a colleague while visiting NYC on business. Our waiter was excellent and we noticed that there were tons of wait staff tending to any and every customer need. This in an era when most places have too few people to take care of customers. Unbelievable wine list ... good lord, it was endless! A wine lover's paradise. My colleague had the steak, but I ended up choosing swordfish. Honestly, I've had swordfish on both coasts, and all up and down the Eastern Seaboard, and the swordfish at Sparks was bar none THE BEST EVER! Not kidding. THICK, large cut. Perfectly prepared, juicy with garlic butter ... I was full half way through but couldn't stop ... HAD to finish. Too delicious. I tried a bite of the steak and it was excellent! Also we split a Caesar Salad, way too big for one person, my half buried in anchovies. Ridiculous. Just great! I would ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend Sparks to anyone.
I hadn't been here in a long time. I was very disappointed in the food; our steaks were tough, not juicy or flavorful, and clearly not worth the $57.95 price tag.
The servers were just fine.
We had lunch on Tuesday and everything was delicious. The service was hand on but not overbearing. The wine list was amazing and extensive. There were limited choices for our entree but we knows that ahead of time and we’re going there for the steak. The steaks were probably the best I have ever had and I eat at a lot of steakhouses across the country especially in NYC. These were amazing. Pricey but awesome.
No room for dessert so I have no comments but overall I would recommend this restaurant for a special meal or event.
Very good place! GREAT SERVICE
Great service and steaks. Very pricey.
I’ve been a patron for over forty years. Ii is my favorite steak house in the country. Get the NY Strip, mushroom caps and by all means the hash browns. Get horseradish on the side for your medium steak and you are in heaven.
Say hi to Abdul and check out all the ladies in short skirts.
It’s a NY event!
I love it.
Service was non-existent. After our meal - filet was brought to the table. No one ever came back to see if was cooked ok, if we needed anything. We had to flag them down to get another glass of wine. There was an intoxicated lady who sang a nursery rhyme loudly off and on nearby for about 10 minutes before someone came and said something to them. In every single steakhouse I have been to, service is 100 percent better. Wish I didn’t waste a special night here . Non existent is not good.
Great steak restaurant but a bit pricey. Very attentive service and old-fashioned decor.
One of my favorite restaurants in the City. Great food and wine list. I love the Chilean sea bass, Strip, crab meat, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I usually have some of these options when I dine there.
My most recent trip in I ordered the strip and my associate went with the sea bass. Don’t forget to end the meal with a slice of cheesecake and a double espresso to tap off a perfect dining experience.
Excellent service and extremely fast.
Great great great great great great great great great great great
Food was a perfect 10. The host was very accommodating and service was fantastic. The only thing. was our waiter was not too warm and needed to crack a smile. Overall the restaurant was a nice dining experience.
