World class steak, expertly prepared and served! Engaged and attentive service professionals. Terrific experience
Too expensive for what it is. This was my second visit, and I picked it only because I had been asked to host a professional guest at short notice, and it proved hard to get a table on Mother's Day.
Sparkill Steakhouse is always reliable. Good food and good service.
A delicious experience all around! From the easy access from the parking lot to the gracious welcome, my experience was sublime. The table for two was generous; no cutting corners for a few extra inches. The cocktails were superb. Everything tasted as homemade as it was: chopped salad, mashed potatoes (EXACTLY like my mother’s), creamed spinach and the ginormous “dollop” of whipped cream channeled directly from my great grandmother. The steaks were magnificent! The portions were beyond the pale, which lended an air of anticipation for leftovers. AND , the best cup of coffee I’ve had out in quite some time. Highly recommend; looking forward to a return trip!
Excellent food and service. We will definitely go to Sparkle Steakhouse again.
This place is the best local steakhouse! The food is amazing. The waiters and staff are amazing.
Haven’t been here in a year or so but it’s still as good as we remembered. Service was excellent & steak was cooked exactly as ordered. So much easier to go to Sparkhill Steakhouse than to travel into the city to Wolfgangs and it’s just as good! Highly recommended
Food is very average.
Had high hopes. Frankly the food had almost no taste. Service was spotty and for the money, I would not recommend this establishment.
We were here to celebrate a birthday and it was a wonderful place to do so. The decor and service was excellent. The food and it’s presentation was very nice. We will return !
Called ahead to see if they were kid friendly. I was told yes but no kids menu was available . Which was fine because they said they would be able to do a variety of kids dinners including filet mignon, cheeseburgers and pasta. When were ordered the kids filet mignon it was actually the petite filet which was fine in my opinion for my daughter, but the $27 cheeseburger that was designed for an adult was way to extreme for my son who couldn’t even pick it up. When I inquired further if this is the kids cheeseburger I was told that’s the only cheeseburger which trust me does not make this restaurant kid friendly. Service was great and will definitely return just not with kids.
Great Dinner! Great Service! Very nice place. I never had calamari in my life that was fresh, large and so tender. The steak was cooked to perfection! A gem of a steakhouse in our community!
Overpriced and disappointing.
Steak was grey, alone on plate, just meat and nothing else.
Petite Fillet had gristle on it!
Other dish had a mushroom sauce with only 1 mushroom in it.
Service seemed distracted, or couldn’t be bothered to come to the table.
I don’t plan to return to this place.
The six of us had a wonderful Easter dinner at Sparkill. The host greeted us warmly when we arrived. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The waiters were all very attentive. Everything arrived just as ordered, and the steaks were superb! We felt very "at home" at Sparkill. When leaving, one of the waiters walked us to the door and took pictures for us. That was a lovely touch. The six of us will be returning soon. Thank you, Sparkill Steakhouse!
Service was very good, nice decor. My steak was extremely charred for med rare and very fatty.
I’ve had much better quality and preparation.
The asparagus were good.
Great food and service. Our waiters Sam was fantastic 👍
Visited during Hudson Valley restaurant week
Ordered petite filet mignon....it was perfect
Beautiful salad also
Not sure if I would recommend restaurant? Restaurant was crowded and very noisy. We had reservation but upon arrival they forced us into the bar area and told us to wait by the bar until we were called. Five of us for dinner in a crowed bar area, asking us to move very few minutes so the waiters could pass by was very uncool. The steaks were delicious BUT everything else was far below par. Shrimp cocktail was quite water logged and seemed gummy. The raw clams had foul after taste and the stuffed mushrooms came very over cooked, late, after we were 90% finished w dinner. Dessert was delicious ~
Our waiter and food was delicious. Most steakhouses give you small portions for a large price however, I was pleasantly surprised by their portion sizes.
We thought the food was fabulous. It was Hudson Valley Restaurant wk and and a nice opportunity to try the restaurant..we were not disappointed. I had salmon...partner had filet mignon. We both had a lovely meal.. nice ambiance and service.
My wife and I went for lunch during Restaurant Week. We wanted to try a restaurant that we had not eaten at during this annual event. We were one of only two couples there. The setting is great and the service was wonderful. We were disappointed at how limited the menu was. There were only 3 choices for the main course - a pasta dish, a salmon dish and a cheeseburger. We were hoping that for restaurant week they would at least offer one of their signature dishes as an option. That had been our experience in previous Restaurant Week meals. That said, the food was very good and the portions were huge.
Meat quality was excellent - very attentive service - slightly unpolished but polite and fast. Good wine selection, great bar - in all we had a very nice evening.
Outstanding service; superb knowledge of wines and kind attention. Bravo! Great Restaurant Week deal! Grazie! Merci! Many thanks.
The filet mignonette was delicious! Perfect! We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant week so it was a great deal. Good selection to choose from. Beautifully decorated restaurant!
Food was good. French fries were soggy and had to be sent back. Steak, creamed spinach and salad were good. Service was excellent.
The overall experience, food, drink, seating area and service were all excellent. Having happy birthday sung to me was extra nice...while a little pricey for Rockland County, considering not being in a Manhattan rent location...the Sparkill Steakhouse is a top notch restaurant. I am not a big steak eater, so it is really a "special" occasion when I choose to have steak and dine at a steakhouse. The rib eye steaks were well seasoned and cooked to order. Only issue was the "char" to the meat which gave it that slightly too well flamed blackening. That being said, while I have only dined here two or three times over the past two years, I would definitely come more frequently, and enjoy an extra fine dining experience. Nice to also see staff that I know and have them provide some added attention in making the dinner even more pleasant.
My boyfriend and I took my mom to Sparkill Steakhouse for her birthday and loved every minute of it! We went during restaurant week so the selection was limited but it all sounded delicious. Each one of us got a different app so we could all try them and then for our entree we all got the petite filet minion with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans and YUM YUM YUM. Our waiter was tentative and very nice, the ambiance was perfect for a nice night out for a celebration! Safe to say we enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back in the future!
Everything was spot on except the maitre d who was devoid of any personality
Outstanding food. Porterhouse was fantastic. Outstanding service. A little noisy.
Service was just ok - has to send my steak back twice ordered it medium well and came out bloody.
Bar was great best martini I have had
The evening started badly at Sparkill Steakhouse.
When checking in I told the host that since we were 30 minutes early for our reservation we would like to have a drink at the bar before taking our table. He promptly informed me that they were very busy and could not guarantee our table (which we had a reservation for) if we went to the bar. We chose not to take a chance and agreed to be seated.
Menus were not provided when we were seated, we waited for them to be delivered by someone other than the hostess. The waiter eventually took our order for drinks and food (2 glasses of wine, 2 steaks, a salad and a side of broccoli).
The drinks arrived promptly, not so for our food.
When the food arrived the filet mignon was not cooked to order and was sent back for finishing. The broccoli was undercooked. The t-bone steak was a poor cut of meat, very gristly. It was certainly not what was expected for a $50 entree.
Overall, the host was rude, the wait staff was inattentive and the quality of the food was not nearly worth the price.
Oh, one more thing. Despite being so busy that they could not guarantee our reservation there was an empty table for 2 next to ours for the entire time we were there.
Although we were there for a birthday celebration I could see myself spending a romantic date night there as well. Phenomenal and attentive service from the moment you walk in, a menu with so many options even the pickiest foodie will find something delicious to their liking.
Best steakhouse around. NYC quality - but also NYC prices. Service is usually impeccable although I think this time they were a touch busy, nothing significant. Never rushed, everything is always delicious.
Outstanding food service and Ambience. Will DEFINITELY return and recommend to friends. Perfect night for a SPECIAL OCCASION!
Great meal and service. Special thanks to owner Carlo great customer service!!!
Very overpriced for mediocre food on VALENTINE'S day. Excellent service.
Great food, great venue, but over priced.
Service was excellent
We had a lovely Valentine's dinner. The host, hostess, and staff made us feel very welcome. Our waiter, Daniel, gave us excellent service.
The food was superb! As always, our steaks were done to perfection.
We enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant. It's perfect for a romantic dinner.
We are looking forward to a return visit very soon.
We have dined here numerous times. I have traveled all over the US and eaten at all the top steakhouses; this place measures up to all of them. Top flight steaks and chops, excellent sides, wonderful wine list. While prices are higher than average restaurant, which you’d expect at a steakhouse, they are a notch below a Del Frisco or Palm without a drop off in quality. Can’t recommender enough.
