About

Spanish Pavillion in Harrison is an eatery that is steeped in history, determination and good food. The grandparents of the owners opened Jersey’s very first Spanish restaurant in 1963. The grandchildren now operate the finest restaurant throughout all the Newark/Harrison area that serves Spanish cuisine to area residents. Spanish Pavillion boasts an array of gourmet dishes and plenty of both new and traditional old favorites each day.

Some recommended specialties include the traditional paellas, tapas, veal scaloppini, Pavillion Burger and Mediterranean chicken salad. A vegetarian burger featuring grilled portobello, piquillos, spinach and manchego cheese ensures that vegetarians can also have their fill of delicious Spanish cuisine.

First time dining here. It was a terrific meal from start to end. The food and service were fantastic. Meals are large enough for two (or more!). The fried calamari was so tender. Great sangria, too. The paella was worth the 1/2 hour wait, so order early.

My wife and I had another wonderful dinner at the Spanish Pavilion. The octopus a la plancha was its usual decilious dish, as was the Pavilion calamari, perfectly cooked with sweet peppers. We'll be back soon...especially since the owner repeatedly visits each table to make sure everything is satisfactory!!!

We were a party of 8 people who went there before a game at Red Bull Stadium. Everyone really enjoyed their dinner and appetizers. Service was good and friendly and the price was very reasonable. We parked our car there and walked to the stadium and after dinner we stopped for a few beers at their outdoor beer garden.

We were a party of 9 who met friends going to the Red Bulls Arena nearby. We had an absolutely delightful lunch. Choices ranged from tapas, to full hot lunch meals, to salads and sandwiches. Everything we ate was delicious! The service was excellent. We started out with drinks and asked that the white sangria not be too sweet. It was great. Light and refreshing with just enough alcohol ...well maybe ...could have had a bit more white wine, but for lunch just enough. They were nice enough to include soup or a nice salad even for those of us who did not have hot meals. We can't wait to go back for dinner. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, food so tasty! There is also a nice outdoor area. Highly recommend.

The Spanish Pavillion aims to please. Great Wait Staff-in our case Tony is the "Man!" The Garlic Chicken was Excellent, the Spanish Home-made Potato Chips were amazing. A good bottle of Spanish wine was better than the Sangria. Enjoy when you are in the mood for super Garlic Chicken.

My wife and I took two of our friends to this well reviewed Spanish restaurant before a Red Bulls soccer match. It was excellent. The food, service, and cordial nature of the place were superb. I especially enjoyed the Octopus a la Plancha, which I had made never had made that way anywhere else before. We plan to be back very soon.

We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before watching the NY Redbulls at the nearby stadium. The restaurant accommodated our quick turnaround with a tasty meal of tapas that suited adults and children alike. The staff were courteous and helpful. The proprietor was even onsite to help with parking and a short-cut to the stadium! Would definitely head back next time we are in Harrison NJ.

We have dined many times at Spanish Pavillion over the past 15 years and it is always good. The service is attentive and the food is tasty and delicious. The seafood is fresh - mariscadas salsa verde, garlic shrimp and twin lobsters were great. Skirt steak was very flavorful too. We enjoyed the sangria too. Dessert ended the meal on a sweet note with flan, lava chocolate cake and carmel pudding.

My wife and I had dinner here. Overall, the experience was excellent. I've been to many of the Spanish Restaurants in Newark, but never tried the Spanish Pavilion. The food was excellent and our waiter was efficient and personable. I had the paella, which was chock full of seafood. I don't think I finished half of it. My wife had a shrimp dish which she loved. We also started with Calamari with hot peppers. Yum. The waiter was pleasant and efficient. Would definitely return.

I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. Food was well prepared. The Fabada was really good. Pretty close to the PAC Center if you are going to a concert. I definitely would return.

Love the food, the great service, the ambience. A family-owned and operated gem. Easy to find. Easy to park (in their lot). A mix of nrighborhood clientele where everyone knows your name, Newark residents, people on their way to or from NJPAC and other Arts and sports venues all there to enjoy great Spanish food.

My siblings and I had heard good comments about this restaurant from friends and family, but we had never eaten here. We made a reservation for Easter Sunday, and that proved to be a wise decision. The food was incredible, from the camarones ajillo to the salads and the entrees and desserts. The generous house salad is chock full of baby lettuces and baby spinach and tomatoes, and the house dressing is magnificent. Among us we ate prime rib, stuffed sole, and salmon costa brava. We sampled each dish and pronounced each of them exceptional. This is definitely a restaurant to revisit. I am hoping to come back with a larger group to sample and share tapas.

We met two other couples here for a Saturday night dinner, and as usual, it was great.
The service was excellent, as was the meals. Everyone enjoyed their dinners, from Steak, to shrimp to salmon, with different sauces. The portions are large, so I wound up taking half my dinner home for the next night.
We started with different appetizers, and enjoyed them all.
We keep coming back. They also have their own parking lot next door.

I went to Spanish Pavilion this past Friday for the all you can eat buffet. Excellent choice. The food never ran low and the service was exceptional! They're doing it again next week, I'll be sitting right there. They've been one of my favorites for years.

The steak was wonderful. The dessert was too. The only issue is the paella. The rice is crunchy and hard. I believe it's a baked dish. Unsure if paella should have this consistency since it was the first time I'd tried it. I simply picked and poked through it, eating only the seafood in it.

The place needs a facelift but the people greeting and serving were fantastic. The food was great! We ordered paella for one and it was more than enough for two. We also ordered some tapas and expected it them to arrive while the paella cooked but all the food came together.

Came after not eating here for years. Used to love
the place but stopped going after their Kitchen
Nightmare. Well, the place looks great, very friendly staff
and owner but the food is eh. My Marsala was just
okay-more sweet sauce then Marsala wine. One of our
guests sent his dinner back as the shellfish wasn't
fresh. Hit or miss I guess. Won't be going back.
Too bad.

waiters were friendly and did not rush you to order or to move the table. Let you sit with your friends and take your time and not try and hurry you, which was nice. They came around and asked if everything was ok and if they could do anything for you. Been there before and would go back. Also very large portions, only one person finished there food the rest came home with us.

All of the service staff were absolutely very accommodating and attentive. No complaints there. The food was plentiful but not fit for foodies. The bread was cold as if they just took it out of a refrigerator. Not sure if we'll go back.

Only 2 minutes from NJ PAC so convenient if you are attending a concert.

We enjoyed everything at this restaurant--the food was outstanding and made any way you would like it. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and they grilled it and put garlic and oil on it for me. Never had one so good and I eat at all the Newark Spanish/Portugese restaurants. Sangria was top notch as was the service. Price was great too. Friends we were with were very impressed and want us to invite them there again.
