Veal "Wienerschnitzel" is totally disaster, it tastes like a dried chicken flat. It ruins the whole birthday dinner. And, the birthday desert is several pieces of cookies, that is the worst surprise I ever had. Waiter 's attitude is obviously no friendly to us. We had bad experience.

We went here for my 50th birthday after a very difficult year health wise. The staff was SO lovely- very very nice. The food and wine were incredible- those oysters and the Maison Deutz Rose' Champagne!! The real star was the Meyer Lemon Pavolva I had for my birthday and of course Wolfgang- such a peach!

Restaurants don’t come more overrated than Spago... an institution by now it survives on reputation. Old fashioned food with old fashioned ideas... mediocre meal, as usual, I keep forgetting how disappointing it is to eat here....

we were seated near your patio and was way too cold.our server was very accommodating and tried to help by closing the air vent near us, but did not really help. she was delightful and everyone else who helped serve was top notch. but for me SPAGO has lost its edge. not like the
old days. WAY TOO NOISEY!!!!!!

Food was excellent. As expected. Somme was dead on and server was very good. My major complaint was that on multiple occasions the person serving the food did not know exactly what was in each dish and did not explain the dish until asked and they had to refer to the menu.

Completely overrated. Ordered truffle pizza. I don’t mind paying for food deserving the price, but $150 for a cheese pizza with less than 10 -% covered with razor thin truffle was absurd.

Bread plate was pretty good.

Overall, a terrible experience.

Highly recommended. Great service. Excellent ambiance. Lobster Sandwich is highly recommended. I would also recommend ordering a pizza for the table to share.

Spago used to be my wife and I's favorite place to take special friends, family and clients. Their food used to be so unique, fresh, regional, tasty and flavorful, but this last visit to Spago was not that good for either my wife or I... And we are concerned we might have let our out of town friends down as well. The best part of the meal was the endive salad, but the fish was average and the pumpkin cheesecake (for Thanksgiving) was mediocre at best. I have nothing but great admiration for Wolfgang Puck and Spago, and believe me, I want it them to be the legend we hold in our minds, but my wife and I just have to be honest and say it was not that stellar on this past visit, which surprised us.

We had the most amazing salad, bread , pasta and dessert. Our steak was tough. Brussel sprouts were nothing special. Expected maybe a little more from main dish but still a very pleasant meal

World class service from a dedicated staff of professionals from the fabulous hostess to the our fully trained and attentive waiter make Spagos one of my all time favorites. Pear salad was unique and delicious and my new York steak cooked just as I requested. Shout out to our hostess for the fabulous table. Highly recommend!

A bit disappointed, mediocre food with poor service...... The dining environment is way too loud. Ordered tasing menu and the only surprise was that the restaurant manager gave us a kitchen tour. Personal opinion: overpriced...

Utterly unremarkable. Not bad, but not remotely special. My wife's steak was great; the food was otherwise fairly pedestrian. Nothing where I thought "boy, I'd like to have that recipe". Uncomfortable seating on the patio (no choice given), with space heaters scorching our necks. I wouldn't go back.

Overall Spago lived up to its reputation and the Wolfgang Puck cachet. Service was attentive, informed, timely and had the wonderful friendly informal touch of waiters in Puck restaurants. But two small gaffes occurred. We ordered fried eggplant as a side and we got creamed polenta. The waiter handled it nicely, offering us the polenta at no charge and bringing pretty promptly the eggplant. Actually this was a benefit since, of all the food courses my wife and I had, the only one that was not at least excellent if not outstanding was the eggplant. On the other hand, the polenta was great. The second gaffe was truly trivial. The meal was a birthday celebration for me and the waiter did remember to put a candle in my dessert but then another waiter came by several minutes later with another candle-lit dessert to wish us a happy anniversary. We did redirect him. These two minor gaffes and eggplant that did not quite work are the reasons I am not giving five stars, but it was still a lovely evening and we will come back.

I've been to Spago many times, but this time I was underwhelmed. One of the most annoying things about this beautiful restaurant is each I time I've visited, the ladies of the front desk staff possess an aloof, rude or unprofessional attitude. At any restaurant, the host/hostess can set the tone for your evening. Every time at Spago the hostesses are cold, rude and unwelcoming. I hope their acting agents get them bit parts soon because they certainly don't make a guest feel welcomed to this otherwise special restaurant. Our group wanted to order any extra cocktail before dinner, but the hostess rudely barked you have to leave for your table. We had a group of 10 and our table was the final setting for the evening, but she demanded that we leave the lounge immediately, which cost the restaurant a round of drinks for 10 and set the evening off to a bad tone.

Once seated, our server, Dan, on the other hand, was excellent. A true professional and exceeded our expectations. He never missed a beat and provided wonderful service throughout the evening. Our wine Somm was also excellent and very personable.

The food was good but not great. The pizzas were the best part of the meal. The beef was prepared properly, but needed more seasoning. Again, it was a fine evening, but left our entire group wanting or expecting more from Spago.

Our waiter was pretty much MIA once it got a little busier. It took us so long just to flag him down to order a drink. They have these guys in black to...pour water(?) and I couldn't even ask the one "in charge of our table" a simple question. He interrupted me and brought over my waiter. Service was bad, food was decent, but definitely not worth the price
