The service was great. The waiter was very helpful and had good recommendations. I asked for a specific table beside the fire in the patio area and the staff accommodated us perfectly. Food was great, but the atmosphere and ambiance is what made the experience worthwhile. Would recommend for special occasions and romantic celebrations.

It was an excellent meal. We did the tasting menu and it was amazing! I'd highly recommend Spago and the tasting menu to anyone!

Sitting on the patio gives one a feeling of causal setting. With the roof being adjustable, the ceiling is higher so noise is reduced from other customers. The heaters are great & do not take away from the garden dining. The food is predictable to be good, as is the service. Has a corking fee but worth it to bring your own bottle, if you want, but wine list is worthy. Best Negroni in LA--smoked, aged selection. The ability to meet the needs of the customers is outstanding. For example, one of four of us wanted a Caesar's salad that isn't on the menu, but they made one. This is a wonderful restaurant for special occasions, meeting friends, etc. I would recommend it, but reservations are required. In my opinion, the best restaurant in LA.

In spite of long-time reservation, our table was horrible. It was a little table in a former pathway. Location and table size were ridiculous.

Last two times that I have dined there, it was not as superb as it had been before. I am not sure what the reasons were. Hopefully, they will rise again.

Valentine’s Day 2018. Walked in and it was super packed and hard to get to the hostess. Told us that they’re running 20minutes behind, which is fine. Didn’t get seated until 30 minutes later. Server was great. However the place was so packed and looked like there weren’t enough servers. Obviously overbooked for Valentine’s Day. Music was confusing - changed from R&B to lounge/house. One of the owners dressed in red came to check in on us at our table towards the end of the night and asked how things were. I wish I told her the truth. The price point for the 3-course meal was horrendous and completely unacceptable. $170pp, and we paid +$30 for the lobster HK style and +$20 for the wagyu steak. Lobster barely had meat in it and it came with white rice. The wagyu was good but only about 4-5 ounces. Appetizers tasted good as we had the sushi bento box and lobster risotto that was a bit undercooked. Dessert was the “sorbet” but in reality it came with a puff pastry and the bread that came by were good. 3 courses, for $390.. I could’ve gone to a TON of other restaurants that will give me my bang for the buck, such as Melise, or Providence, or even a great Omakase restaurant with exceptional food, service, and pricing. The only good experience I’ve had was at the bar prior to seating. As much as we looked forward to the dinner itself, the price point seriously made the experience NOT worthwhile and sadly had to be on a night of eating w my significant other. We rarely have time to go out ok date nights so every night out alone is a highlight for us. Yes, Vday dinners are usually expected to be overpriced and at times not worth it because restaurants change their menu and add special decor to your table. But seriously, 30min delay, and the WAY OVERPRICED 3-COURSE dinner for a total of around $500(++) with 2 champagnes at the bar, all just under $600 Is. A. TOTAL. RIP. OFF.

Music was so loud you could barely hear the person sitting next to you at a 2 top table or wait staff.

I love Spago usually everything is great tonight the service highlight was the hostesses they were super friendly and got us a Table very efficiently ....the waiter forgot our sides and charged us when they arrived 15 min late for our dinner so he was a downer... but I will not let this one experience ruin an otherwise great restaurant!

This was my first time here and I have come across rather mixed reviews. The service was ok. Food is amazing. The ambience is eclectic. Cocktails are excellent.

This is the flagship restaurant of Wolfgang Puck. We tried the California Lunch Tasting Menu. Every course was amazing (I did not like one dish, but it was well prepared that I can see it was more of a personal taste). Two reasons I am giving service 4 stars: 7 or so courses took 2.5 hours (a bit too long for lunch) and there was a slight miscommunication (I actually wanted regular CA Tasting Menu, not lunch version). Except for that, and that the place was a bit too crowded and loud, everything else was just exceptional. Spago, despite it being 40 or so years old, still remains one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in LA. There are other amazing restaurants in LA (Providence, Trios Mac, etc.) but for my money, Spago is IT.

Spago is typically reliable very good and specific dishes are excellent. This trip, unfortunately, we were served a perfectly cooked but hard to cut and chewy “Cote-de-Boeuf.” The waiter quickly replaced it with a steak that was somewhat better, but the Cote should never have made it to the table. Pasta appetizers were very good, and my stuffed rabbit dish with a side of rabbit ragu was excellent. Wine sterward is top notch.
