The service was great. The waiter was very helpful and had good recommendations. I asked for a specific table beside the fire in the patio area and the staff accommodated us perfectly. Food was great, but the atmosphere and ambiance is what made the experience worthwhile. Would recommend for special occasions and romantic celebrations.

Sitting on the patio gives one a feeling of causal setting. With the roof being adjustable, the ceiling is higher so noise is reduced from other customers. The heaters are great & do not take away from the garden dining. The food is predictable to be good, as is the service. Has a corking fee but worth it to bring your own bottle, if you want, but wine list is worthy. Best Negroni in LA--smoked, aged selection. The ability to meet the needs of the customers is outstanding. For example, one of four of us wanted a Caesar's salad that isn't on the menu, but they made one. This is a wonderful restaurant for special occasions, meeting friends, etc. I would recommend it, but reservations are required. In my opinion, the best restaurant in LA.

In spite of long-time reservation, our table was horrible. It was a little table in a former pathway. Location and table size were ridiculous.

Last two times that I have dined there, it was not as superb as it had been before. I am not sure what the reasons were. Hopefully, they will rise again.

Music was so loud you could barely hear the person sitting next to you at a 2 top table or wait staff.

I love Spago usually everything is great tonight the service highlight was the hostesses they were super friendly and got us a Table very efficiently ....the waiter forgot our sides and charged us when they arrived 15 min late for our dinner so he was a downer... but I will not let this one experience ruin an otherwise great restaurant!

This was my first time here and I have come across rather mixed reviews. The service was ok. Food is amazing. The ambience is eclectic. Cocktails are excellent.

This is the flagship restaurant of Wolfgang Puck. We tried the California Lunch Tasting Menu. Every course was amazing (I did not like one dish, but it was well prepared that I can see it was more of a personal taste). Two reasons I am giving service 4 stars: 7 or so courses took 2.5 hours (a bit too long for lunch) and there was a slight miscommunication (I actually wanted regular CA Tasting Menu, not lunch version). Except for that, and that the place was a bit too crowded and loud, everything else was just exceptional. Spago, despite it being 40 or so years old, still remains one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in LA. There are other amazing restaurants in LA (Providence, Trios Mac, etc.) but for my money, Spago is IT.

Spago is typically reliable very good and specific dishes are excellent. This trip, unfortunately, we were served a perfectly cooked but hard to cut and chewy “Cote-de-Boeuf.” The waiter quickly replaced it with a steak that was somewhat better, but the Cote should never have made it to the table. Pasta appetizers were very good, and my stuffed rabbit dish with a side of rabbit ragu was excellent. Wine sterward is top notch.

Another great night at Spago. Cote de Beouf for 2 is excellent as always and the 2002 Billecart-Salmon was not only incredible but surprisingly reasonable. One change I would recommend is to the serving of the caviar dish. I know they've been doing it this way for a while but I still don't think it works. In addition, the way the dish is plated using the accompaniments is a challenge. Always a festive crowd and the restaurant remains as beautiful as ever.

If you order a cheap red Bordeaux blend off the wine list you get a red Bordeaux glass. If you bring in very expensive red Bordeaux and pay the corkage, you get a white Bordeaux glass. An annoying micro-aggression against those who don't want to grossly over-pay for wine.

When my wife ordered the black truffle special pasta appetizer, they delivered the regular pasta appetizer and left my appetizer on the table in front of me while they took hers back and then took 5 - 8 minutes to get the far more expensive black truffle pasta delivered. A low class move.

Then the bill came with both pasta's on the bill.

Once upon a time, Spago had good service and a good wine policy. That has not been the case for some years now. We used to dine at Spago at least every other month. Now we go once, per year hoping this will be the year it gets back on track in terms of service. Now we say goodbye for the remainder of 2018.

Simply not worth the money and while the food is very good, the experience continues to leave us greatly annoyed. Maybe I'll return in 2019 to see if they have figured out to treat people well again. Maybe not.

I’m a loyal fan of Wolfgang Puck, his restaurants, and catering services, but unfortunately this was the first poor food experience I’m had over many years of patronage. First, let me say, our server was outstanding. Very attentive and nice, could not have been better; and the patio is always beautiful. Unfortunately, our pizza was very soggy with way to much cheese, and the lobster salad was overwhelmingly covered in dressing. Less is more. My guest and I both agreed, but chose to not say anything to our server as we just wanted to experience a nice time, enjoying lunch together.

Hopefully the kitchen can take this into consideration when preparing similar menu items.

Thank you.

Great Californian cuisine though slightly missed on a starter with charred oranges, San Daniele and mozzarella. Otherwise the food was excellent. Wine list is mostly at stratospheric prices though there are some better values to be had - we had a great Cote du Rhône Avril for $55. Also saw an Australian D’Arenberg for $32. A 10 minute delay to be seated but otherwise service and ambience impeccable.

Spago was impressive. Runs like a well oiled machine. Entree was terrific. Only beef...got 4 tuna cones and price was $30.59. Huh? Please explain the math. Thanks 🤔
