Spaghetti Warehouse - San Antonio
Book your next event with us
Always, I mean always take a picture of your receipt at this restaurant. They will do the unethical practice of not crediting you for the reservation and not award you the points. This is done so that they do not have to pay OpenTable.
OpenTable will credit you the stay if you have a copy of the receipt.
food was great but took over an hour to get to us
also the drink refills were too slow so we ended up just grabbing our own refills
don't plan to come back anytime soon
On the positive, the food was excellent. The problem we had was in getting a table. We had a reservation, arrived early and didn’t get seated for 30 minutes after our reservation. We ultimately sat for at least 45 minutes and kept having to ask how much longer. Once we finally got seated, we sat for another 5 minutes before a manager happened to walk by and said our server would be right with us. Another five minutes passed. No drinks, no server, nothing. Finally we had to hunt down the manager and relay our frustration. We had another engagement to be at, hence the reservation and were now really pressed on time. We had to order along with our drink order just so we could get food in time to eat and quickly leave. The girls at the front desk were unbelievably apathetic and lazy, there was no communication within the restaurant between employees and we just had a stressful and angering experience. We are really easy people to please and rarely complain when we go out. This was just ridiculous though. There’s a good chance we won’t be back based on this experience. There are too many other good eats with superior service in S.A.
On a good note, the food was really very good. The manager did acknowledge the failure and comped us an appetizer And apologized which we do appreciate. Just kind of one of those too little, too late things.
The first person that tended to us was a bit rude we told her we had a reservation and she made us wait anyway. I could understand if they were busy but it wasn't. The next lady that came was sweet and sat us at our table, but our waiter was distracted didnt even bring our food he sent someone else, never asked if we needed anything. I really had looked forward to going there, but not sure if I will return 😒
We had to wait well past our reservation time.
I can see why this place is closing in various locations. Surprised this location is still in business. We reserved a table during one of the busiest days 2/14. We were there
bc our child was eating there with their school. We did not eat with the school and actually checked in BEFORE the crowd at 5:15pm. We didn’t get seated until nearly 6pm..then waited another 15min to just have somebody greet us. They seemed understaffed as at no time were all the tables occupied and they still didn’t have enough staff. I’ve managed restaurants before and it is up to management to make sure they have enough staff for busy evenings like 2/14. After the long wait, our server finally came around. He was great and attentive, but before the long wait, I felt like somebody should have at least told us, ‘I’ll be right with you’. Drinks and food came out in good time, but the food was really sub par. Seems SW has not changed their menu or recipe since they opened. The whole place smelled old and the restrooms were not clean at all. I get the ‘warehouse’ theme, but it doesn’t need to smell or be dirty like one.
It was fine for a large group as they take reservations (not many places do), but service was slow and our food was cold.
The food was good ! The service could have been way better.
The restaurant definitely needs an overhaul, looks a little rough and old inside. When we walked in no one was at the hostess stand or the bar so we just waited, they seemed to be under staffed. The hostess did apologize and we were seated within 5 minutes. Service was fast and the food was delicious. Our server was a little rough around the edges but he did get our order right and he was fast. The food would bring me back not the atmosphere.
This was my wife and I's first Spaghetti Warehouse visit. We found the food to be very good, with large portions. The service was exceptional. We had made reservations, but we were the first guests seated and enjoyed our visit.
Birthday was great
First time trying this restaurant, and fell in love with it. Will be back again. The food was great with good size portions.
The food was very good, the waiter was slow and would disappear every time we asked for refills. When it was time to pay. he mixed up the orders and took for ever to fix like 20 minutes just waiting to pay.
HORRIBLE. Don’t waste your time and money here. My husband and I took our two children here to celebrate our son’s birthday. To start, they did not have our reservation and we showed them our open table confirmation and the manager said their reservation list must not have been updated today but they would seat us anyway. The restaurant was not full or even crowded. We had to wait 20 minutes to even be greeted by our waiter, plus another 15 minutes to get any beverages followed by our requests for silverware which I ended up having to go grab from another table. Our food took at least an hour to get out to us, we never got refills, our waiter got my husbands order wrong, my daughters bowl wasn’t clean...the list goes on. When I spoke to the waiter and manager they could have cared less. They comped $5 off of our bill. What a joke.
This place used to be a cool place to eat but it has really gone downhill. 6pm on a Saturday and they were out of quite a few items, including their most famous dish the 15 layer lasagna. The hostess was disinterested. The waiter repeatedly told us that it wasnt his fault and he couldn't control what happens in the kitchen. The food was very average and parking was an issue due to something going on across the street.
Parts of the restaurant are dated and need of repair. That said the food was very good and or server was pleasant and helped us with all of our needs. Overall a good experience today.
Awesome time for our anniversary, must ask for Flo she was awesome!
We had a nice dinner with out of town family. We requested seating in trolley car. We arrived earlier than our reservation time, and the hostess accommodated us sooner than anticipated, even though there were a lot of people waiting to be seated. Our server David was excellent; very attentive and helpful. Food was good, and portions were large. The entire staff was friendly. Thank you for making our evening with family extra special!
Wait, service and food were all terrible!
Perfect dinner, but they said they don’t even look at online reservations, so we ended up waiting forever for a table after all.
We went to Spaghetti Warehouse because a member of our party wanted the appetizer cheesy bread for months. We had tried twice before to just walk in but the wait time was too long. When we were able to make reservation we were excited. When arriving the hostess was polite and accommodating in getting our table ready. Our server seemed rushed an flustered. As we started to order drinks we went to order appetizers and was informed they had no cheesy garlic bread or shrimp. The server stated they hadn't been busy all week and suddenly they were. The restaurant had about 10 tables active or finishing their meals and lunch service was just getting started and already there were several things unavailable. The same member of our party who wanted the cheesy garlic bread order a frozen lemonade that we learned half way through was not going to be available because the lemonade was not frozen enough. A member of our party is gluten free and pointed that out to the server and even ordered gluten free pasta. When the salad arrived it has croutons on it. The server seemed bothered that she had forgotten this. My husband and I split a dish that was described as enough for two and indeed it was. The meatballs from the spaghetti and meatballs tasted old even not meat like. The sausage and alfredo raviolis were perhaps the most edible items. The lasagna was decent but the meat inside also tasted almost not meat like. We did not eat the chicken parmigiana but our son had a separate order of his own and did enjoy it. Our daughter who had a separate order of lasagna and she became ill the morning after dining. Basically we spent 150.00 and that was including the tip. 3 out of 7 people in our party had no problems with their meal. The experience was underwhelming. This is only my third visit and it will undoubtedly be my last even though the first two were over 5 years ago and were pleasant. I expected this one to be pleasant also and it wasn't.
The food and service were good. I miss the option of having something available that is not a pasta dish (ie salmon)
The place definitely has a smell to it, and it's not spaghetti, more warehouse...the food was marginally good, if I can make it better at home, the value is just not there.
That said, the service was excellent, or server was very attentive, polite and helpful. Prices were a bit much for the quality of food, but the quantities were above average.
Love it our first time there. The wine was awesome as well. Thanks
I hadnt been here in a very long time was very excited but was a bit disappointed with my chicken Parmagiana , it didnt have to much flavor and neither did the noodles. But I did finish anyway i guess I like a bit more buttery taste on my noodles and alot more melted cheese on the chicken parmagiana. Thank you
Omg....finally had good service!!! I believe Karen was the evening bartender and she was energetic friendly outgoing and absolutely right about the Italian lemonades!!! Our food I didn’t get his name because I was still busy with Karen at the bar when my party was seated...but a waiter that we could understand and wasn’t grumpy...this guy was attentive friendly outgoing and even a little funny...I just hope I tipped him enough for him to know that we appreciate finally getting a good server!!
The food was great and our server was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the experience.
The staff was not prepared when we arrived. We had to wait to be seated, wait to order drinks and food. The waitress tried but the restaurant was understaffed and had not prepared enough food so multiple orders had to be substituted and other orders came out late despite being assured if we ordered off the banquet menu we would all get our food at the same time.
I have had great experiences here in past years so was VERY sad to see how much this restaurant has gone downhill.
Love the atmosphere and appreciate the trolley seating, but had kids running thru our party and just a terrible overall experience for what was a special family event!
So disappointed by our first and last visit! We arrived to be told our online booking had not been received, but we were seated! However, when we ordered our dishes, we were told there was no French fries, as our order was for 4 portions, 3 for children, we should have left then! We were offered chips a very poor substitute! Unfortunately, we decided to have a main and go! Food bearably warm and no cutlery! My order was for meatballs and sausage with spaghetti, forgot sausages! Did eventually get one! We decided to leave, asked for check, we had been offered complimentary dessert, but declined! I had already complained about no French fries with the manager, who was unaware of this! I reluctantly accepted the 25% discount, food and service poor! Also, can I point out the toilets were disgusting! Finally, I noticed that customers were being seated unaware of a staple such as French fries being unavailable! Not good!!!
Overall it was good. Wine was delicious The macaroni and cheese tasted blah. The layer lasagna was great.
Server did not tell us about the memorial day coupon.
We found out afterwards when we were exiting the building.
It would have been nice to save a little since we were celebrating a Graduation.
Great lunch with friend and food was great too. Next time will ask for seats in trolley car.
The food took over an hour to arrive at our table and, the table next to us waited over 2 hours for their food. The waiter did his best to answer our concerns but, never retrieved a managers assistance to expedite the food. When the food arrived the lasagna was burnt and had no meat. The overall dining experience was terrible.
They had no record of the reservation made on Opentable. Fortunately, they were not busy so a table was available.
Upon arrival they weren't even aware of our Open Table reservation. It wasn't an issue getting a table because it was not crowded. However, our notes regarding our special occasion were left unread. The salad plates, romaine lettuce, and dressing were all warm resulting in a soggy Ceasar. My lasagna was almost warm and cold on the inside. Our waitress seemed over worked and very stressed AND had a poor memory. We had to ask 2-3 times for refills and waited a long time for everything. It's a shame because the food and service has always been great at this quaint restaurant. We had dessert somewhere else.
Waiter, James, was amazing and very attentive. We had to wait 20 minutes for our table, even though we reserved a table, and hostess seemed very overwhelmed.
Parking spots were also sold to a concert across the street, and there was no parking for restaurant patrons.
For the most it was a great experience. Appreciate the great, speedy service the waitress provided. She made sure we did not need anything at all times.
The only direct negative feedback I can give would be your staff did not find the booked reservation. Could not find reservation through reservation confirmation number, nor party name, online lookup, there was no indication of any large party. Luckily it was not busy at the time and some tables were available. I could only imagine what would have happen if there was a packed house. This I must say is Not in any way acceptable. Confirmation was made so the reservation was booked correctly.
Food was good must have been an off day for the food because it has been better in the past. The waitress did t seem very friendly
Reservation at 6:30 but showed up at 6:05 and let manager know. She advised we would be sat soon. 6:45 which was after our reservation and I went back to host stand and they couldn’t find my name anymore. They wanted to give us set menu cause we were a party of 10. Advised we wanted to order regular menu and they said they don’t do that for 10 top as it is too much for server. Party ended up being 9 so they allowed us to order from regular menu. (Set menu is not stated on website nor on this site) when food finally arrived server dropped tray which had 3 entrees, 2 kid entrees and 1 adult. Waited at least 10-15 min to get their food out again. We saw a party of 15 that got their food first before our kids got theirs. Also that party was sat 30 min after we did and they were out before us. We got a lot of I’m sorry’s but didn’t feel genuine like it wasn’t meant. It was my moms birthday and didn’t get the experience we were looking for being that this place is in downtown far from home. I would think something would get comped or my moms desert would be free due to all the mishaps but nothing was comped. Did not leave till 9:50. This should have not been a 3-4 hour experience. Very disappointed in this establishment. Would not recommend anymore.
Food portions large ,service great but facility needs a makeover the chairs are old & ripped the tables wobbly. The lighting fixtures were horrible I believe they need to poor some revenue into a make over. And lastly I think the food needs to taste like it looks it taste very bland & commercial doesn't pack any home authenticity. So I personally would not go back. My family enjoyed stuffing themselves it was a good time overall .
The food to really long to come out. Our server was all over the place, drinks we wanted were not available, and there was a waitstaff just handing order to our server for another party while he was taking our order. My family was really excited to try this place out and we were disappointed we won't ever go back.
