Spaghetti Warehouse - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Brought 14 college student and colleague while in Dallas for conference. Online reservation process was very easy. Decided to use Lyft rather than drive from hotel. All of our parties met and we had no wait to be seated. Our waiter was covering another large group, but he was quite friendly and didn't flinch much when we requested split checks :) The service was fairly quick and the food hot and flavorful. More expensive than fast food, but well worth the cost on special occasions. Next time, we'll put the group in the trolley car! Recommended for casual dining when you want something a little more special.
The service at the restaurant was not great. Server was pretty slow. The food was not good as the pasta was not cooked correctly. It was very sticky. 3 of our diners ordered spaghetti dishes that were not good. The manager offered to recook the dishes for them, but then came and admitted that the spaghetti pasta was cooked all at the same time, and that it would likely be the same. He offered to prepare a dish with a different kind of pasta. The guests with us accepted that. There was no offer to comp even one of the dishes. The restrooms as this location were also disgusting. My feet were, literally, sticking to the floor in the women's restroom, and the smell was pretty bad. I don't think that we will be back to this location.
1994 our first visit to Spaghetti Warehouse in Oklahoma City. I took my girlfriend at the time for her 21st birthday. Through the years that girlfriend, now wife, and I enjoyed birthday dinners, anniversary , dates nights here. Sadly the OKC location closed last year.
My wife and I traveled to Dallas for our 20th wedding anniversary. A trip which included a surprise romantic dinner at the Dallas Spaghetti Warehouse.
I contacted the restaurant in advance & explained the occasion. I asked for a table for 2, out of the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant, and a single rose on the table. I was contacted by Kristin. We talked about the occasion she was extremely helpful. I trusted she was going to get my special requests taken care of.
We arrived & were greeted by a very friendly host. As we followed him, we were led upstairs. The stair banister wrapped in purple, my wife's favorite color. When we reached the top of the stairs we were amazed to see a single table in the middle of a gazebo. Chilled champagne on the table, balloons, streamers, candles, a chalk board with Happy 20th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Harvey written on it. A dozen roses and music overhead playing 80's love songs, again my wife’s favorite. I requested a single rose and a table out of the way, we ended up with a floor to ourselves and an atmosphere that couldn't have been matched by a 5 star restaurant.
We were introduced to several people, including my hero Kristin. They were genuinely happy to have been a part of our day. They gave us a few minutes to walk around and soak it all in. I decide on the Turin Trio, Amazing 15 layer lasagna, Chicken Parmigiana, and Fettuccini Alfredo! Absolutely delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered grilled chicken Alfredo, she loved it! For desert Italian donut bites w/Nutella. Our
Everything about this dining experience was 5 star, atmosphere, service, food, and most importantly the customer service.
I love Spaghetti Warehouse.....no other Italian restaurant I know can beat it! Downtown is a good location; wish there were a few more around in other parts of Dallas, however. It's convenient for anyone stepping off the DART train like I've done a few times. The food is great but service seems rather slow....takes a little longer than it should to receive meal. But no worries....I'm sold regardless....thank you!
It had been several years since I have eaten at the Spaghetti Warehouse. The food was as good as I remembered. Our waiter Jeff was exceptional and able to keep up with our large number of guests (16). I would highly recommend for a lunch time group celebration (it was my birthday). Thank you very much for the great food and the opportunity to share it with my work friends.
Our reservation was for 7pm but we were not seated until 7:45. The host staff and managers all seemed unable to communicate to us what the issue was and how it was being fixed. After finally being seated, it was another hour until appetizers arrived. While it was a busy Friday night with a large conference in town, I expect more from a restaurant whose entire focus is on being able to accommodate large parties. Highly disappointed.
Walked in, and almost right back out! The restaurant was messy, cleaning spray left tucked behind the decorations, hostess counter covered in junk. when we got there they didn't have our reservation because they "don't check the online reservations very often." We were sat quickly, but waited awhile for our waitress. Ordered our drinks, it took 25 minutes before we even got water brought to our table. We decided to order their special which included one appetizer, two soups or salads, and two entrées. We got the fried mozzarella as our appetizer. I order the chicken parm, and my sister ordered spaghetti and meatballs. My mom order fried zucchini as her appetizer, and spaghetti with meat sauce. Our soup was brought out very quickly, but it was only warm-ish. About three minutes after our soup came, our entrées were brought out- still didn't have our appetizers. All food was brought by a food runner, not our waitress, so we asked for a manager. He came, and was very apologetic, and went and found our appetizers. The fried mozzarella was all oozed out the side of most of the pieces, and the red sauce that came with it tasted like canned tomato sauce. Chicken parm was good, but the spaghetti was dry and looked like it had been sitting for hours. My sisters meat balls were big and good, but again the spaghetti sauce tasted like it came from a can. The best thing we had were the fried zucchini it was hot, and the outside was crispy. The manager had taken over our table since our waitress was more or less MIA the whole time. He came and told us he wanted to cover our meal as a birthday gift for my sister. We thanked him, and we asked to have our dessert to go for my sisters birthday, then we waited another 35 minutes for the dessert! We were just getting up to leave, when he stopped my sister and said he had a phone call come in he had to deal with. Overall, the food was terrible, the service was terrible, and the restaurant was unappealing to be in.
Easily the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. The building smelled like an old, stale bar. The floors were sticky and filthy. The hostess stand wasn't manned when we arrived even though there were people waiting everywhere. Once we were finally greeted, they had no record of our reservation so they just wrote our name on the list. After 15 minutes of them calling people without reservations, and 3 attempts to talk to the hostess station, we were finally seated. The manager came over to apologize and offer us complimentary appetizers for our trouble...very nice gesture so I thought ok maybe this just got off to a bad start and will be fine from here on out. I was wrong. After placing our order and waiting 30 minutes, the manager returned to ask how the appetizers were...problem was, the appetizers never arrived. So as we waited he ran back to the kitchen and returned 10 minutes later with our mozzarella sticks (very good) and the garlic cheese bread (super gross and greasy). So again I thought, ok, at least the manager is trying, maybe this will turn around. Nope! After waiting an hour for our entrees, they were still nowhere in sight...so we flagged down our waiter to cut our losses and pay for our drinks. He said not to worry about it. So after an hour and a half of chaos, we left with no Father's Day dinner. We ended up having ice cream at a shop down the street for "dinner"
We made a reservation for 19 people, which is a lot! We did have to wait for our table by about 15 extra minutes; however our server Pauline made up for the wait. She was AMAZING and not only worked hard to get our orders in fast, but she never let our drinks get too low, got all our tickets split correctly, and gave us dessert because of our wait. The food was very good as well!
This was the worst experience I've ever had in Dallas. It was loud, very dirty, we were on the reservation OpenTable for 4:00 and had to get a manager involved at 4:45. The manager apologized and expedited our reservation (We were put on a wait list because they were "so busy" in spite of a reservation. The manager was awesome in how he handled the situation, the waiter was very kind and tried hard to make up for the bad service, prior to sitting down. They gave us a free appetizer. However, the main course was awful. I simply didn't enjoy it, felt we should've picked a better place and it was amplified upon our visit to the bathroom. Everything was dirty. The place just isn't a good spot. We will not return, under any circumstance.
To be honest my leftover food (lasagna) was better reheated that night. Not sure why. The garden salad was drowning in House Italian dressing. Ask for that on the side. I visited at 12:30pm on a Friday and there were plenty of available tables. And yet we were not offered seating in the RR car. Overall service was lackluster which is an accurate overall rating.
It seems like they were very short staffed. Our server acted like she had to run from one place to the next. We told her we were in a hurry when we first arrived so she did attempt to rush our order, but she never brought our salad or asked if we wanted a second drink. We had to wait a long time for our food and when it got there, we didn't have any silverware...she said she would get it right away but 10 minutes later, I ended up finding a pre-set empty table and took the silverware from there (she never did come back with any) so by the time we got to eat, our food was stone cold. I don't know if this was poor management or poor service or a combination of both, but it was very disappointing.
The food is very good,
very good portions, average plate $11-$13(combos are $13.99)delicious,
almost all of us took home leftovers.
But "beware" waiter asking if you want "this topping or that" on your dish, because it all costs more money. But they Do Not tell you..
you see it all "add ins" on your receipt.
We had 100% participation of our group, more than we anticipated and we were graciously accommodated. Set up for 30+ of us was 2 long tables, made mingling hard to do...should have asked for breaks in tables, wish we were more spread out or given a separate area/room. We made do...had 2 waitstaff & would have worked better w/3rd person. Food came out piecemeal vs all at one time but was hot & delicious. We enjoyed our day & the chance to be together. Probably will opt for something different next year but managed. Any problems were due to my not asking for specifics when making reservation. Thank you to all at Spaghetti Warehouse!!
Our experience at Spaghetti Warehouse was amazing. The food was so delicious and was priced wonderfully. The staff was super attentive especially for a Saturday night. The adults were able to visit with table conversation as the kids were occupied at the arcade after our meals. Wonderful setup and great environment. Renee was our server and we couldn't have asked for anyone better!!!! He especially made us feel welcome.
