Service and food were fantastic. It was the first time my family and I had really “dined out” since Covid, and we wanted a nice meal out. We loved the elk carpaccio and all our entrees (elk tenderloin, lamb chops, halibut). It was quiet with nice views of the surrounding mountain. It’s a bit of a drive for us, but I think we will definitely make the trip back.
Always wonderful
The drive out was a bit longer than expected from Durango proper, but this is an amazing spot. Tucked through the pass, quaint and elegant ambiance. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the steak au poirvre. Great wine list as well. Save room for their unbelievable warm chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of ice cream!
Thank you!
Always love going here. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly.
Thank you, Jacquelyn!
Great food! Beautiful restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. Our server was wonderful as well. Just can’t say enough about this place. It’s a must go!
Thanks, Tammy!
Just fabulous all the way around!
My husband and I always have an amazing time here! They treat you like family and the food is phenomenal!!
Thanks!
We ordered four appetizers and one entree. Everything was excellent! Enjoyed everything about our meal.
Thank you, Bill! That's a fun way to enjoy dinner!
We loved our night out. The food and service was awesome. Definitely be back.
Consistently good food ! Started with the Elk carpaccio , if your a carpaccio fan this is a great place to start. For mains we had the Miso Salmon, the Petite Filet & the Lamb Chops. This is one of my favorite Salmon dishes anywhere . Salmon has a sweet Miso crust on the outside & is served over a bed of forbidden rice with a scrumptious curry sauce . Steaks & Chops were cooked to perfection & very tasty . Over the years we’ve had pretty much every dish on the Sows Ear menu & everything has been good but I would say their specialty are the steaks. Chrissy always takes good care of us .
Awesome restaurant. Best in Durango and one of the best, I've ever dined at in the United States. Great menu selections and just all around great dining experience.
Amazing dinner start to finish. Food was absolutely delicious. Great service as well.
Thank you DebiB!
Everything was great! Chrissy as always is so sweet and helpful and very attentive to the allergies our family has. Can’t wait to come back.
Great sitting in the tents. Loved it.
We were skiing at Purgatory for the weekend and went to eat with our group of 7 at Sow’s Ear. Surprisingly they put us in the “breakfast room”. This was a perfect room for our group that included a record player with a full library of vinyls. We had a wonderful private diner with Lionel Richie singing to creating a perfect mood to go with our delicious dinner.
Great food and wonderful views overlooking the mountains!
Excellent food, service and beautiful and warm environment.
Love the Sow’s Ear. Durango’s hidden gem!
Not bad, not great. I'd say mediocre. For the price, we've been too far better steak houses where we live in Phoenix. Fiancée had the filet which was good. I had a ribeye. Ribeye is supposed to be fatty, but about 1/4 of mine was inedible gristle. The mashed potatoes and veggies were good. Ordered medium rare and received closer to rare. Not a huge deal for me as I'll take undercooked vs overcooked. Dining area was nice and the drinks were good. Our waitress was friendly.
Dining in the tent was very romantic and amazing!!
I have been coming to Durango for 21 years and last night I had the best meal I have ever had here. The truffle tenderloin tips are out of this world. The seating is very carefully placed to insure maximum social distancing. We will be returning before the end of this trip!
Sows Ear has consistently good dishes , from their Steaks to their Miso Salmon. Apps & Salads are also good & they have a good Wine list along with tasty Mixed drinks . As for service , Chrissy always takes good care of us.
Unfortuanatly it was not worth the costs of the meals. The fillet was dry, and ribeye... okay. Other restaurants in Durango are better, competition here can be hard.
The food, service and restaurant are all nice. We had no issues. I was just not impressed to rate it five stars.
Great food great service!
Overall a wonderful experience food outstanding and staff so great
The food here is amazing and generously served. We’ll surly return next time we’re in town.
Great views and delicious warm bread bites with dinner.
Fantastic idea putting the tables inside small individual tents ! Brilliant . Really warm , cozy and so much fun . Really great way to deal with Covid in a creative way . So awesome ! They should consider doing this every winter just for the novelty . People loved it ! Well done 👍
Outstanding
This was our first time to have dinner at Sow's Ear. The food was outstanding as well as the service. This was the best dinner we've ever had in Durango. Can't say enough good things about the selection of the menu from appetizers to entrees. EXCELLENT!!!!!
I wasn’t thrilled to be surprised with outdoor dining in a tent. But the surprise was my fault, and the experience was absolutely fabulous. The heaters easily handled the sub-freezing conditions, the service was prompt and courteous and the food was spectacular. In addition, dining in a tent during freezing weather made for a great story for our friends.
Fun dining just the two of us in a camping tent outside. Staff very attentive and timely even though they can’t see you to check drink levels or other visual cues they usually rely on.
Food was amazing as were the drinks. My steak was cooked perfectly and my husband enjoyed his lamb. My kids were a little disappointed because they were out of chicken fingers but they enjoyed their burgers.
Excellent New Year's Eve dining experience. Attentive wait staff and delicious food. The wine selection is extensive and reasonably priced. We were able to enjoy two bottles of wine (Kunde and Rodney Strong, both of which are Sonoma county wineries and of which we are members) and the price point was less than $40/bottle. While we expected to dine in a "tent" (due to the CO Governor's closure orders), we were very pleasantly surprised to learn that in-door dining had just opened the day before. We were offered a tent outside or a table inside and cheerfully went with a table inside. It's the little things that make such a difference. #indoor dining #deliciousfood #excellentwines #nodishestowash #goodriddance2020 #sowsearisfantastic

While challenged with the dining res
What a creative way to serve dinner! Tents and teepees :-). Food was excellent and we stayed warm mid December
Food has been better
Food and service are excellent as always!
Great menu, with a very nice range of choices both in terms of taste and price.
The staff here is simply the best.
Thank you for a very nice evening of fine dining.
