Our seasonally inspired lunch menu is available daily and both lunch and brunch menus are available on Saturdays. Outdoor tables are available for reservations on our front patio, weather pending. Our bar area is first come, first serve.
The place is re-built and beautiful, much larger than before. But menu is now more Bistro style, small plates. My "MEZZO" was a plate of fried veggies, not good.
Husband's swordfish excellent, my caesar salad very cold and tasty.
Just disappointed that there were few choices I would eat.
Best to go for burgers, pizza and tapas
20 year anniversary will be memorable for staring at a parking lot with occasional headlights shining upon us while killing mosquitoes. My drink was screwed up too. At least the food was good and service was in line with expectations.
Five stars for exceptional food , waitstaff, BYOB option. Three stars for customer service. The restaurant doesn't set a time limit for patrons at their tables, so any reservations after 6:30pm are subject to seating whenever earlier patrons decide to leave. We were told upon arrival that reservations were running on time, yet we waited 35 minutes past our reservation because the patrons at "our" table were still seated even though they had paid and the staff was not allowed to suggest that others were waiting. It's very noisy, so one is shouting to have a conversation. Love the food and will do take out in the future.
Again lunch was delicious. I had the avocado toast and my husband had the rigatoni with meatballs. Kelsey was our server and she is wonderful. The entire staff is great! Can't wait to go back.
We very much enjoyed our meal at Sovana. The food was excellent (other than tough late season broccoli rabe). The service was friendly and competent. The noise level needs some toning down, perhaps with some softening wall coverings. Very much enjoyed the cheese course with a surprising soft PA cheese. Definitely worthwhile.
Good to see Sovana Bistrio open again. A bit expensive... but there are items to choose from that can fit a budget.
Little pricey, but food, service and ambiance have been worth it. Love the express lunches! Remodeled look after reopening is nice!
We celebrated my wife’s birthday with some friends and had an amazing time. The food was spectacular, the service (Catherine) was exceptional and the environment couldn’t have been better.
Good service, trendy atmosphere and tasty food. The tuna tartare is always a favorite.
Francesca was amazing!! Thank you!
If you are looking for delicious food, excellent service and a fun atmosphere, Sovana Bistro is the place to go!
Specialty drinks were very small, especially given the price and compared to pre-fire. No bread for the table and even the bread pairing did the cheese board seemed odd (like a cinnamon raisin toast). Food was good but felt like they were trying to save wherever possible. Service was terrible. Very nice and polite but sat with empty drinks and empty plates without ever seeing our server.
Great food and service!
We had a lovely meal Friday night. Food was amazing and cocktails were lovely. Seating in a five person round table for four was not ideal. We will be back.
Fabulous server! very attentive. young Hostess was clueless - we had to seek her out after a drink at the bar. but..... brussel sprouts over roasted...read - burned.
calamari portion small as well as the octopus. ( i suggest going to four dogs to have their calamari and octopus) cod special - good. ravioli - good but - too al dente. dessert good. wine and drinks about $3 too pricy. Interesting menu, but....I think sovanna is riding on their reputation. I like being able to make reservations from the sovanna website. all staff is....and always has been spectacular!
Sovana Bistro is back and as good (or better) than ever. My wife and I had the Express Lunch which is soup, salad, sandwich, and desert for $19. The soup was pureed corn and delicious. The sandwich was open faced, with a base of ricotta, topped with grilled peaches and prosciutto - yum! The salad was far more interesting than a standard side salad, and desert was a blondie.
The beverage list is well thought out . My wife had a glass of pinot noir, and I had a "jackalopier," a barrel aged cocktail akin to a Manhattan. I always get one when dining at Sovana.
Get a side of fries for the table. You won't regret it.
Met a friend for lunch and we had a great time. Service was good. Food as always was fresh and delicious.
Far too expensive for what they are serving. We thought they had raised their prices due to Covid shut down AND remodeling. We will not be eating here again anytime soon.
Really cool place-great innovative menu and good attentive service. Our 3rd time there and always pleasant. Our first time was w/o reservations but they made seats for us in front of the kitchen- so even then no major wait
I would go a bit earlier and reserve for sure as they do get v busy
Highly recommend the eggs Benedict! The fact that they make their own English muffins really pushes this to another level.
The new layout looks great. Great menu! Great service!
Consistent high quality food and service. City quality staff with a local smile. Simply put, its the best restaurant experience within 50+ miles.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants and a regular go to. Menu selection was limited.
Reservation was for indoors but was seated in outdoor patio. It was stark. They made an attempt to create some ambience with some lighting but fell short in everything other way.
So glad to be back. Great food. Great service. It is still a little noisy in the main dining room. But that's okay....we had a wonderful time.
Noise level was high. Noticed other diners were given a before meal appetizer which we were not given. Prices had significantly increased since our last pre-fire visit. Guess they are trying to recover lost funds during the shutdown-example $14 for a plate of lettuce seems extremely expensive, Also $19 for fried calamari.
Grandson called in and tried to arrange to pay for our anniversary meal. This got totally messed up but they are trying to compensate. The waiter had about as much personality as a 2x4. Had to ask him what happened to the salad.
Great experience, great ambience. Highly recommended.
We were glad to return after the reconstruction
Disappointed. Drinks were small, menu was limited. I hadn’t been there since they reopened and it has fallen off dramatically.
I have always enjoyed the whole experience at Sovana Bistro, but this time, the food was a miss for me. The menu is smaller than it was pre-fire and pre-COVID, but that's okay. I ordered the sun -dried tomato and ricotta raviolis for dinner and they were not very tasty. Whatever flavor they had was overwhelmed by a creamed corn tasting sauce so that the whole dish just tasted like corn. Unexpected. I'm surprised that this dish made it to their shortened menu. The service was good, however.
Somewhat limited menu - lots of pasta and pizza. A bit pricey. Pasta dishes needed salt.
Excellent ambiance and delicious meal. Sat at the bar & had wonderful service. Good energy!! Will definitely be going back!!
It was so cold that we could not wait to finish our meal and get out. We overheard other diners complaining about the temperature and even one server who said she mentioned it to the manager several times with no change. Additionally the acoustics are very bad and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. When you’re paying $40 for an entree, there should be a nice atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal and be able to converse with others. The food was good, but the experience was not.
Good service is hard to find - GREAT service found here is impossible today. The front staff are TOP NOTCH. Attentive and informed, very friendly.
The food is so creative and yummy, just like before the fire.
My only complaint is that it’s so noisy—but I’ll be back over and over and over. Octopus was perfectly prepared, tender and yummy. Fig pizza was delicious and fennel sausage pizza was outstanding. Blueberry lemon galette was the perfect ending to a gastronomic delight.
First time since it re-opened, noise level was bad before...still crazy loud. Menu is not for us, chef is out there and menu is just not for us. Doubt if we will every return.
I ordered a cocktail up. I was presented with a two ounce glass of over shaken watered down gin. Very disappointing for my $15.50 spent. Also by the glass wines were also overpriced.
The new menu is much improved and much more varied and interesting. The ambiance is boring and the noise level is high. The service and food are both excellent. Maybe the owners will find a way to make it look less like an airport waiting area
Seasonal and delicious
As soon as you walk through the front door, you're assaulted by the deafening noise level. This is beyond "energetic." It's absurd! Even in the newly enclosed back dining area, which is paneled in wood (which should absorb sound), the noise level is so loud that normal table conversation is not possible.
Oh... the food and service were fine. The prices are too high.
Our waitress was great. Our table was just ok. The metal chairs are not very comfortable. The food was great!!!
Server was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. He brought items right on time and we did not feel rushed.
